Typical small town café. Our food was good and it’s an affordable, friendly place to stop. Really liked the coffee and the breakfast sandwich. Décor and seating arrangement need some work though. We were a little cramped.

Breakfast, American high fat & carb breakfast – this is the place. Been here a couple times and glad to say the biscuits weren’t sweet this time – I had the one biscuit & hash browns in gravy. thick flavorful gravy & just enough of it; had the other half of the biscuit later in the day. Abby said the chicken fried steak was«okay,» and Mike muffin w/meat and egg seems to be the one thing on the menu that’s not too large. Price very reasonable, especially with the quantity, and the quality is decent, fine potatoes. Efficient, friendly service – place was pretty full and just one cook. Also got here later in the morning and missed the locals at the big table who last time were speaking unkindly of the president.

Had breakfast here on Sunday morning at 9am. The place was already packed with only 2 tables open. Our family of 4 sat down and was immediately greeted with menus and great hospitality. I had the chicken fried steak, which is one of my «go to’s» for breakfast. It was crispy on the outside and had the perfect amount of batter and seasoning. The gravy was delicious and portions were huge. Also came with 2 eggs, hash browns and a home made biscuit. My daughter ordered the biscuit and gravy– equally delicious, but we should have just split my breakfast since there was so much and the flavored were similar. My son ordered the giant cinnamon roll and must have been good since he devoured the whole thing and then promptly started helping me with my food. My husband ordered the 1+pound ham with eggs, hash browns, and toast. I’m not usually a fan of ham, but this colossal slab of ham(the size of a dinner plate) was juicy and not overly salty. It tasted the way ham should be. Overall the meal was outstanding and although I hate to see good go to waste, there was no way we could possibly finish everything. I would definitely recommend breakfast here. Great service and food in a cute diner full of friendly locals!

Stopped here for lunch, we had patty melts that were very good… love the toasted sourdough on the outside of the melt which kept your hamburger from getting soggy. The special fries in this place are very special they are breaded with something that makes them amazing and crunchy. Friendly service and small town local atmosphere. Ridiculously value priced meals, so good they need to charge more ! :-)

A great place for breakfast that seems to draw the locals. The coffee was good, eggs perfectly cooked and great hash brown potatoes. It is open early which is really nice in a town when even the coffee places can’t get going before 9. Don’t expect anything fancy, just good food and service.

Great breakfast with big portions. Good atmosphere. Would eat there again. The dishes are home made and quite tasty. I had a Portuguese scramble with a blueberry pancake and shared with another since the portion was so big.

«Please be patient, everything on the menu is made from scratch» except, apparently, the blueberry muffin from Costco dusted with powdered sugar to make it look fancy. Disappointing. #fancypantsfail

I thoroughly enjoyed the quantity and quality of my omelette! Thanks to attentive service, my coffee cup never ran dry. My wife and I had traveled a great distance, and I needed at least two cups to generate enough hydraulic pressure to open my eyes in the morning. The Cheyenne Café is easy to find on Main Street and it’s locally popular, with good reason. They won my recommendation!

I ate here for breakfast with my one year old son while in town on business. We ordered a sausage omelette with pancakes. The omelette was huge and filled with lots of sausage, veggies, and cheese. The pancakes were fluffy and good. My son kept wanting bite after bite even though he’d had his baby breakfast already. The atmosphere was good– ranching brands and veterans symbols on the walls, red and white checkerboard floor, about ten tables. Our waitress was really nice, the place has a family feel, and the good was delicious. We will be back for more food for sure!

A place where the locals eat. Basic café food(burgers, fries, omelets…). Homemade soups, and big sandwiches. Large portions at reasonable prices. Friendly service.

I’m giving Cheyenne Café two stars only because of the service of our sweet waitress(who busted her butt getting everyone served in a timely and courteous manner, because if i were basing it on the food or the people that frequent the place, I’d give one.) We arrived at Cheyenne Café, as they were the only place open for breakfast this past Sunday. As another reviewer said, «Expect a table of farmers who are talking about irrigation and digging trenches at a communal table. I like it. They are super nice.» Well those local«farmers»(racists) were at their aforementioned table and were anything but nice. What I wouldn’t give for them to have just been talking about their simple lives and irrigation systems. Most of the restaurant was reserved for snowmobilers that were coming in later that morning, so we had the misfortune of being seated next to this archaically racist bunch. Being that we were there the day before MLK Day and Inauguration day, we were unfortunately stuck listening to some of the most vile things I’ve heard people say about black people ever.(«Old Silverbacks» and«I guess the inauguration is a really big deal because I heard even his old lady shaved her back for the event», «Hopefully he(Obama) is about to get his ass assassinated», «You know, I cant help but blame Abe Lincoln for all this», and about a million other hateful, ignorant comments that make me sick to mention) Growing up in a small town, I am aware of and always loathed the stereotypes associated with it. But in this case, «Small towns, small minds» is beyond an understatement. I believe everyone has a right to their opinion,(albeit barbaric and disgusting in their case) but spewing it in public as loudmouthedly as possible, for my six year old daughter to hear(and later question«What are silverbacks, Mom?» and«What is a assassination, is that what they did to Martin Luther King?») is beyond horrific. All the while the(owner?) cook was out and about, and no one could think to ask them to pipe down.(Had my six year old not been with us we both would have but feared the repercussions with her being there due to their vile nature) These people are truly a display of the ignorance that unbelievably still exists in this country, and those that vote based on racist beliefs as they obviously weren’t intelligent enough to form a valid opinion beyond their own color. People like this are what is wrong with this country. The food was«OK», as I had has browns and«sourdough»(read white bread) toast, as there wasn’t really a great menu selection. My Daughter had a «famous cinnamon roll» which didn’t live up to its reported reputation. My husband had an omelet that«left a lot to be desired for» and the coffee tasted like hot water with a hint of flavor. Our bill was close to $ 40, which is a total joke when you consider what we ordered in addition to the lack of quality. Not that I wanted to listen to it, but I wish the racist comments had started prior to us placing our order so we could’ve left right away. I’d like to say that I can’t blame an establishment for its patrons’ disgusting behavior, but we all know that would not ring true. Especially based on some of the stickers hanging in the café and the fact that the owner was fraternizing with them. So obviously we won’t ever be back or recommend this to anyone we know that is in the area. We also hope to never again in our lifetime encounter such an ignorant group of racists. I pray they don’t have kids of their own.

A decent breakfast spot with locals sitting around talking politics and small-town chatter. The portions were pretty big and well put together, but the biscuits and gravy was disappointing –mostly tasteless gravy on a saucer-sized biscuit half. Not to say the food was at all bad, but the B&G could use a little more flavor.

Want the rancher breakfast? Yummy food, giant portions, hashbrowns and toast? this is it. Can’t go wrong, nor get any better than this place. This place is busy and seating is tight, but if you want the quintessential«American Breakfast of Eastern Oregon» this place is it. Good service. Clean and friendly, and of course it’s where the locals go. You won’t be getting that«super fresh, organic earthy meal», but that is not why you are here! It’s portions, it’s good, and it’s fun! Only downer for me, being a coffee-holic, is their coffee tastes like it came out of a Folgers Can, weak and not flavorful, but hey, you are here for your breakfast, get your espresso down the street! For such a busy place, their service is awesome!

Good breakfast place, with adequate portions. I’m allergic to wheat so they gave me an extra-large heap of fried potatoes instead. The potatoes were prepared there and were not real greasy as so many are. The omelet used three eggs and a good amount of filling. This place is not at all trendy — a bit conservative in it’s clientele, and in its politics too, if the«Say No to Dope … and Hillary too» sign is any indication. The food is yer basic well-cooked American.

Best Breakfast in town. Super good and big. Super Big Eggs, Excellent Bacon. Great Service. Great décor. Expect a table of farmers who are talking about irrigation and digging trenches at a communal table. I like it. they are super nice. Better than the other place in town.
