History

Established in 2002.

TIm & Renee Shimek founded Glowing Hearth & Home in 2002, but TIm has been working in the fireplace business since he was 9 years old. In 1975, Tim’s dad Ron Shimek built the first ever free standing fireplace in Ron’s garage. Within the year, Ron’s brother Dan would join him to start the Heat & Glo fireplace manufacturing business. Tim worked for his father and uncle every summer through college. Once he graduated he worked full time at Heat & Glo. After several years working for them Tim decided it was time to begin a new adventure and open his own fireplace showroom. Tim & Renee now own 3 showrooms and their business continues to grow every year.
