First Choice Towing & Transport

If I could give no stars I would worst experience with a tow company ever took hours to get my car then didn’t call me ask where I left my keys preceded to drag my car as the towed it which fucked my car up and they lost my keys because I had left them on the wheel and now they r who the hell knows where their drivers r idiots and so is the office staff

Not a place I’d normally check into but we had to get a tow when our car broke down ⁶⁄₂₆ at about 9pm. I have roadside assistance through verizon and this was the tow company that came. My initial contact was with a women over the phone who called to verify our location and information. She was very nice and set our expectations as far as time was concerned. Mind you we were being towed from Havre de Grave to Glen Burnie like 55 miles. She told us we didn’t have to wait for the tow driver, which was an estimated 90 mins, but that if we received a ride before we could leave and they would deliver the vehicle. The tow driver actually showed up before the estimated time and had enough room for all 3 of us to ride back in!!! Our driver was very cordial and talked with my husband the entire ride. I would recommend them. Thanks!!!

I believe this company is also known as SJB towing. I had a great experience with them today. The driver (Ron) arrived in the expected ETA (60 min). He was friendly and went above and beyond his service. I asked what he thought might be the problem and he diagnosed and was able to trouble shoot the issue on the spot. Still needed towing to my designation however. He turned a stressful situation into a no stress day. Thanks for the service! I would definitely recommend this company and use them first if needed.

This was an Allstate auto service call. That said within two hours, it was actually over four. They never called and when I called Allstate, each time they said they’d be there in 10 minutes. On the flip side the kid that was the towing was excellent. It was a difficult tow (my car was locked in gear) but he did a great job getting it safely on the rollback.

Awful experience with the company. Last night I had the misfortune of driving through a pothole in Baltimore and got two flat tires. My insurance company arranged for towing with First Choice, and initially I was told the wait time would be 45 minutes. After the first hour passed, my insurance company received an update that the company responded to a police call with fatalities, so they’ll be a little late. After another hour of waiting, I received an update that they are down to only one truck because the others are down with maintenance issues. After the third hour, I was told, «the driver had to take care of a personal issue,» and that he would be arriving soon. After the fourth hour of waiting in my car in a not so pleasant part of Baltimore, I was told by their dispatcher that, «they can’t get a hold of the driver at the moment.» I asked the dispatcher for an ETA since I’ve been waiting for almost five hours at that point. He behaved as if that wasn’t really the case — I know how long I’ve been waiting — and when I asked for another ETA, he hung up on me. Shortly thereafter, my insurance company called them to cancel, and found me a more reputable company, who’s driver showed up WITHIN the 45 minutes I was given. Later on I found out that First Choice has a fleet of trucks, so the mechanical issue excuse doesn’t compute, nor do they have a contract with the police. I also learned that this same company operates under six other names, so unfortunately, if you need towing, odds are pretty good you’ll have the misfortune of having to deal with them. My advice: if after the «45 minutes,» is up, cancel and find someone else.

Had to give one star as well, since none isn’t an option. Was broke down on 895. My insurance USAA has them listed as SJB Roadside CC. They were contacted via USAA to provide me a tow. I called USAA at 10:30am. Their first ETA was 12:08, then 12:34, then 1:38, then 3:18. You get the point. They never came. At all. I had to go with M and L Towing. They take accidents as priority and don’t tell you they booked several accidents before coming to you. They cancel work tickets without telling you. I had to leave a complaint thru my insurance not to ever recommend them to me again. Ever.

Had to give one star because none wasn’t an option. This towing company should be called last choice. To make a long story short I was told they would come and tow my car in 75 minutes. After calling the rude dispatcher and being told several times they would be there in 15 minutes the tow truck showed up 165 minutes later. The first lie was he was on the other side of the road and needed to turn around.
