Hands down the best cheesesteak in the 4 States! Bread is shipped straight from Philly! Everything is cook to order, and comes out hot and ready. Fries with the spicy ketchup just works! Great atmosphere… very relaxed and plenty of room. Cannot recommend enough!

Ive had cheesesteaks all over the country(including my fair share in Philadelphia). Theres only two places that I like theirs more than on the roll. They have all of their bread shipped in from Philly. The soft Amoroso roll is what truly makes a great cheesesteak, and these guys have em! If you get it wit’out whiz your fooling yourself… because its just not a real cheesesteak. The only reason I didnt give it a 5th star is because I recently had a cheesesteak in New Orleans that took the whiz over the top from this one. If it wasnt for Liberty Cheesesteaks, I would have gave on the roll a 5th star. But its definitely a very good Philly!

Quite possibly THE best cheesesteak in Joplin. As a matter of fact it’s probably the only cheesesteak place in Joplin. The next best cheesesteak is in Springfield. On The Roll definitely gets the job done. Good food, they’re never crowded and the guys that work there are cool and really chill.

I ordered 4 cheese steaks to go, very disappointed. The sandwiches had no flavor, very little onions and no peppers. Basically it tasted like a cheese wiz sandwich with a dry meat texture. Don’t waste your time, your better off making the sandwiches home made.

Just great. Wish they had a larger hoagie. I was told they were getting bigger sandwiches after the move and they still haven’t. Its a shame because they’re good and Joplin needs a deli style sandwich shop.

On the Roll was nominated in 417 Magazine’s Best Of… issue, which I think is one of the most important things to mention. This is a relatively new restaurant, and it doesn’t even sit on any main road, so that’s quite an honor. Small and situated in a strip mall, On the Roll almost disappears from sight. But do yourself a favor and pay attention because if you like authentic cheesesteaks, you will love it here. I have had the classic with whiz — actually with extra whiz — because I love my cheese. The drippier the better! However, without the extra, there probably is a pretty nice balance between meat and cheese. Unless you just happen to need more like me. They have a nice selection of other Italian-style cheesesteaks and hoagies as well. For sides, it’s your typical fried fare — fries, mozzarella sticks, mushrooms, etc. I’ve only had the fried mushrooms, and while it’s just a from-frozen app it is still a pretty good product. They have recently expanded their restaurant and they make pizzas now. However I did not see a pizza menu, so I have no idea if they are up and running on that aspect. There was a pizza oven, pizza boxes towering against the wall, and a guy kneading dough. Should be obvious but I didn’t ask to know for sure. Neat and clean inside, plus the cook washed his hands before he started my food and I was like HECKYEAH.

Went with what the guy at the register recommended. Cheesesteak with grilled onions and whiz. Pretty good. Needs a little bit more pepper in the meat if you ask me. Will come back again. Soda machines were having issues. Apparently they have been having issues for a while. I hope the word gets out on this place. I’d like to see it stick around for a while. My daughter got the chicken strips and fries. Good qty of chicken and fries for the price.

I’ll be honest; I have no idea why this place isn’t packed every night. The phillies are AMAZING. They are the best you will find without going to Philly. $ 5 heaven. Do yourself a favor and check this place out

I’m surprised that no one has wrote a review yet on this place! We are huge fans of Cheese steaks. We all got different Verizon’s of the cheese steak. I personally got the Cheese steak with cheese wiz and onions. I was surprised they didn’t have green peppers. You however have your choice of banana peppers, mushrooms, onions and Jalapenos. A heads up if your like me and a huge fan of cheese, ask for extra cheese wiz. You always have a couple other choices of cheese. The buns were so good. There are signs all over the place showing they have them shipped in. Hubs got the pizza cheese steak. Its was cram packed full of pepperoni and steak. I’m pretty sure you cant go too wrong with any selection. Then menu is simple. No one that was with me got the chicken steak. I did however get the fries. I would have to pass the next time. They weren’t that great. Not crispy, super salty. Heck you really don’t need fries the cheese steak is huge! I’ll definitely be back several times to come. They do however have one of my favorite types of ketchup on every table. Jalapeño ketchup. Its not the best brand I’ve ever had but it was pretty good. I was so mad that I totally forgot to take a pic of the cheese steak but it looked so good that i didn’t even wait! lol guess you will just have to drive over and check it out!
