Remember books? Printed, on paper, yes those are the things. In this age of electronic publishing I am still partial to the«real» quality of a book. Perhaps it is just my style of learning, or the ability to see and feel where I am in a story that appeals to me, to identify with a character or sense how far through a super boring lesson I am. Good selection and they can order anything you need quickly. I hope B&N can stick around for awhile, books are good for you.

Place rating: 3 Anchorage, AK
I wish I could give a better rating to this place because I love B&N. They have a broad selection of books with a wonderful labeling system. I had about 10 – 15 minutes to be in and out of there with the book I needed(I knew exactly which one I was looking for). I kid you not, I SCANNED the store minus the card section. After my scavenger hunt, I then did my best to track down a worker. There was nobody at the help desk in the center of the store and people besides me were waiting for help. I took it upon myself to find somebody only for her to be busy with someone else. I waited for her to get done with her previous customer and then asked her where my book was. Right by the card section. Imagine that, right? Good GRIEF! So I then told her about the rest of the people waiting by the desk. Sure enough my book was right next to where I didnt look. The older lady at the register was really sweet and enthusiastic which I brightened my mood. I donated a $ 3.99 book about penguins to an educational program :) Too bad they didnt have any about puffins, seeing as how Im from Alaska that would have been ironic. The nice attitude of the lady at the register salvaged B&N to 3 stars instead of 2. I will be back, hoping my next visit will be a better one.
