I heard about this place through the grapevine and was surprised at its location, considering that its located on the hill, which is known for being the worst part of town. I shouldn’t even be in this part of town but my curiosity prevailed above all else. The layout is a one room convenience store that sells Mexican and American staples. I got 3 tacos Steak $ 1.75, Pork $ 1.75, and chicken $ 2.00, a pork sope $ 2.50, and a steak burrito $ 5.00. The steak and pork tacos were on par with most places nearby, although the flavor of the meat was a tad light. The chicken taco was tastier as some of the chicken pieces had burnt end pieces which gave it a slight pleasant char taste. The sope looked to be about 4 inches in diameter but hardly had any flavor. The fried masa on the bottom had a nice crunch but lacked flavor but still pretty cheap. I enjoyed my burrito. Plenty of meat and good distribution of steak, beans, lettuce and tomato since I could taste every ingredient with each bite. The service really blew. Two teenage kids were running the place and were on their cellphones half the time and one of them was about to hit me with a $ 2.50 charge for using a credit card which I thought was kinda extreme. Not a bad place but there’s better places nearby and its in location that’s surrounded by abandoned, run down houses with shady individuals in baggy attire walking around.
