Since my review on this place and Dr, Raj Patel was deleted. here i come again.
Do NOT go to him. He is arrogant.
the first visit went well, i was told to get some x-​ray and so i did.
the second visit — when we were going over the x-​rays results — he was rude and impatient. He pretty much said that everything was OKAY (even if i couldn’t stand, sit nor lay down for too long before being in terrible pain — did i mention that i have had the pain for 5+ years, yeah —
and i told him what about my spine deformity, and he was like o yeah, we can’t do much with that.
when i asked him to go over the report from the radiologist, he said that he had already gone through it. so his idea of going through it was saying that EVERYTHING was okay.
so i asked to see the paper, which listed that i have bone deformation cause by a small fracture on my neck, paravertebal muscle spasms, and loss of the curvature in my neck.
also, after giving me the report, he turned the monitor towards me so that i could see the x-​ray… and i told him that i am NOT the doctor, so i have no idea what to look for.
YEAH, my spine is in PERFECT shape!
I was so annoyed at that point that i left and never went back.
i am currently seeing another doctor. she is great and my pain has decreased so much that i can actually run again.

After a knee replacement four years ago and being in more pain than prior to my knee replacement, I probably saw 6 different orthopedic surgeons with no relief. After going to Rush hospital to see the top knee revision professor he sent me to the head of the Allergy and immunology dept at Rush who determined I was highly allergic to everything the Dr. that did the replacement put in my knee! After that was determined I went back to the head knee revision professor at Rush only to be told I had been misdiagnosed by the Dr. who did the knee replacement! It was a tendon., ligament, or muscle injury and I never needed a knee replacement. NO Dr. wanted to help me or could help me. My wonderful primary Dr. referred me to Dr. Udit Patel. He is an awesome Dr. He is a wonderful, caring Doctor who goes above and beyond when most doctors in today’s world treat their patients like a number not a person. He genuinely cares about me! He has helped me tremendously and also took time to research new techniques to help me get some relief from this 4 year old nightmare that has forever altered my life! I was also rear ended by 2 cars last May and he is also trying to get me relief with that. I am allergic to most metals so surgery has always had disastrous results for me in the past. Without Dr. Patel I would be bedridden most of the time. Whomever this Amy K is her statements could not be further from the truth. I have been under Dr. Udit Patel’s care for almost 2 years. Never waited long, never been treated like an addict, in fact just the opposite! Maybe if someone is being treated as an addict they are! Just saying! .God Bless Dr. Udit Patel more doctors should follow in his footsteps.

I have been going to Dr Patel for a couple years and he is wonderful! Very understanding and helpful! I’m so glad I started to go see him for my back pain!

I’m so happy with the care I have received at the Pain and Spine Inst. Dr Sharma is so kind and caring both during my follow up appointments and through my procedures always making sure I’m comfortable and pain free. I can always count on their friendly staff to take care of my needs whenever I call, whether it’s a simple question or a medication refill. Dr Sharma has used a new procedure for my headaches back in October and I have not had any headaches since. I owe him a ton. No more shots~ No more pills. Thank You Pain & Spine Inst and Dr Sharma!

I have been coming here for over a year. Dr Sharma and his staff are amazing. They take their time and review everything! You are not rushed through! Full detailed explanations about everything. I never have to call with questions later! Highly recommend!

My wife has been going here for over a year. She and I love the staff and have always been treated well and given the time necessary to answer all our questions. Dr. Sharma has done a great job managing my wife’s pain after two neck surgeries. Would highly recommend this location for pain management.

I first want to express my gratitude towards Dr. Udit Patel for allowing me to feel the best I have in a long time. He is one of the few doctors I have been to in my lifetime that I felt actually LISTENED to me. I expressed my concerns and he addressed them without hesitation. He always told me the benefits and possible negatives to each procedure that he did or any other procedure I may have had to endure along the way.
I had been to other doctors who wanted to do surgery or far more invasive procedures right away, this worried me instantly. Dr. Patel wanted to start small first to see if we could lessen my pain with injections. Thankfully the injections have worked so far!
I went from not sleeping, not exercising and being in constant pain after many months of physical therapy, chiropractic, pain pills, unable to sit for half an hour much less stand that long, etc. to now sleeping through the night. I was miserable, tired, and crabby. I am now doing tolerated exercise, sitting in class or walking around for nursing clinicals comfortably and able to continue my normal activities again. What a change in my life this has been.
I have also encountered his partner Dr. Sharma who is also great, helpful and lends an ear and opinion to any concern you may have.
Their facility is well kept, and they have a great staff who are all personable as well.
I would recommend this facility to anyone who is in pain and needs help going back to their normal selves again.

I was so impressed with this office and the doctor. Both the MA and Dr. Patel spent a lot of time with me to figure out where my pain was coming from and came up with a good treatment plan. During the procedure, Dr. Patel explained everything thoroughly step by step so I knew what was going on and what to expect. The best part is my pain is completely gone. I saw Dr. Sharma during a follow up visit and he was also wonderful and took the time to make sure I was completely satisfied with the treatment and no longer in any pain. Both doctors seemed so knowledgeable and I felt very confident they would take care of any problems I had. I would highly recommend coming here!

I am so glad that I went to the Pain and Spine Institute! As soon as I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a very helpful group of people. Getting checked in was easy, and Dr. Sharma was saw me within ten minutes of my arrival. He was extremely comforting and positive and really listened to what I had to say. The surgeons and staff truly care for their patients and it showed in the way I was treated. I recommend Pain and Spine to anyone that is looking for results!

This place is horrible. They are too busy to actually help. I have waited 35 minutes just to check in. They don’t let you know «procedures» till it’s too late. They might give you some pain meds at first but then make you feel like an addict when you ask for then when needed. I would NOT recommend them to anyone.
This was my last and final visit there. During my shot today, Sharma didn’t care how it was going, didn’t care about my pain level, I question if I even got any medicine in my hand. The office staff are friendly enough, but lack the organization to get things done. They waste more time on follow up appointments and just suck your insurance dry.
