Joliet Splash Station

I actually like this place but I thought it was ridiculous that you need two forms of identification to prove you are a resident. I think your drivers license should be enough but since that is all we had the guy charged us non resident prices. He told me I could give a bill. Now who comes to a waterpark with their mail? I personally bring in as little as possible considering it could be stolen and their lockers don’t even have locks. So just an FYI make sure you have all documents in order or you’ll be paying full price. Ridiculous

Maybe three stars isn’t fair to this place. It’s a water park that’s $ 13 for general, non-​resident admission. So even though I didn’t adore this place, I didn’t feel like I lost out on a whole lot. However, I’m still not too impressed all the same. The lazy river isn’t very interesting, and it’s quite a small loop. The belly slide was what attracted me to this place, and it’s fine, but honestly gets old kinda fast. The other slides aren’t very good either. My biggest gripe is that they don’t have a very big area to just swim. The slightly deeper, general swim area is a joke. Crowded and splashy, and extremely small. If you have kids then I’m sure they’ll love this place, but for me and my dollar, it got old pretty fast. It wasn’t awful or anything. I had a completely serviceable water park experience, but there are too many other aquatic parks nearby that are superior so I really, really doubt I’ll come back.

I’ve taken my 3 nephews (6, 5, 5) here several times last year and this summer. They love it. They are only able to go down the open slide, and we all enjoy that. Like the sandpit too, but like others, I’d like a few more areas with shade.
We usually end up throwing the towels on the grass since we’re never there early, but that’s fine. We spend the whole time in the water!
Are the lifeguards overzealous? A bit, but they help keep the place from getting to rowdy.
At times the music is too loud.
Concessions — cheap prices, quite edible food.
They DO need to fix the plumbing. The signs in the restroom say to hold the handle down the whole time. Umm — sure, but that still doesn’t help.
They’re only open for 10 weeks, closing in mid August. I understand that many lifeguards go back to school but other places manage to stay open even on the weekends for awhile. They should review their hiring policies.

This is a nice place but the lifeguards go too far with whatever ridiculous policy their management has in place. My kids weren’t allowed to climb on me, other kids were yelled at for playing on equipment. You can here their whistles every few minutes and the lifeguards yelling soon after. Also there is very little shade. Other than that the kids loved it and it is quite refreshing to wade through their 4ft deep pool.

Zero depth pool, not really a pool for swimming. The locker rooms are absolutely DISGUSTING!!! They close bathroom stalls just on how dirty they are. I just can’t get over how FILTHY that locker room was.

Found tickets for Splash Station on Groupon and thought we’d give it a try. Paid $ 13 for two adults. Luckily my two year old gets in for free. Although he is potty trained, they still required him to wear the plastic swim pants, which they sell at the gate for $ 6, and they are reusable.
We arrived here about 5 minutes prior to opening, on a Sunday. The place was empty. The locker room facilities knocked down my review by a star. They could use some refresh. The toilets were clean but the showers were not.
There are a few slides, a lazy river, and one main pool that includes the zero depth entry and kids area. We spent most of our time in the main pool and my son had a great time splashing around and playing in the different water features. We attemped a ride on the lazy river but the water was freezing. The body slides are fun but I enjoyed the tube slides more. There were no lines for anything. I’d say this place caters more to families with younger children.
We ended up getting a snack at the concession stand. The prices were cheap and the food was on par with concession stand food.
The staff here was excellent (bumped them up from 3 to 4 stars). Everyone was helpful, the lifeguards were attentive, and friendly as well.
There was plenty of seating, but not much shade, so make sure to be prepared with hats and sunscreen. My husband especially loved the music (mainly classic rock) that they pumped throughout the park.
We ended up leaving around 12:45 and the park was filling up, so arrive at opening if you want your choice of seats.
All in all, we’d definitely come here again.

We come here every summer for lots of fun. I think this park is best for adults or kids under 10. It has a few slides, a beach area for kids to play in, small lazy river, a zero depth pool with kids stuff to play on. Lots of beach chairs and extra grass area to lay down towels. there is no real pool to swim in. Good crowd, nice area. We love it.

This place is awesome and will be planning to go back. Outside the park they have picnic tables so you could have a cook out. Inside they do have food/​drink but we didn’t check them out. I was so surprise how clean and spacious the locker rooms are. You do need to bring your own lock and I forgot mine but my bag was still inside the locker when we left. they have a section for the bathrooms. they have two shower sections some with curtains and the other without and they all have soap dispenser. inside the water park they have a fun walk in pool section for the smaller kids. and they have two big slide section for 48’in. and taller. they offer a swim test for undersized kids that could swim and if they pass they can ride the 48’in tall rides. they do have a nice long water slide for kids 42’in n taller and even if it says no adults there were plenty of adults riding it. They have a nice lazy river you walk into and i loved it being about 3ft deep. They had a neat sand section and yes it was nice and clean. walking in/​out of the sand section was a shower to rise any sand off.

BOO!!! Filthy!!! Gross!!! I was really disgusted by the whole place today! The pool was NASTY! The toilets were all clogged up! There was no music and the prices are outrageous!

At first I had a really hard time Setting a party for my son here, But at last after several attemps I finally did it! Woo-​hoo!
first this place is great! The employees in the kitchen where very busy but they did a great job assisting my sons bday! Thanks GUYS! manager did a great job setting everything for my son, my guest had a blast! So to you and every one there! thanks for letting us have a piece of our memory out there with you all! we had fun! we will be back again soon!
