Johnny’s Beef & Gyros

All I can say is that if you have never had their Big Daddy, you are totally missing out. his sandwich is AMAZING! Double Cheeseburger with gyro meat, onions tzatziki… so GOOD!

I eat here as often as I can. Best Greek Salad I’ve eaten. Mixed greens are always fresh and crisp. The salad would feed two people. I’ve had it with and without protein. It’s always delicious. Everything I’ve eaten here gets a gold star.

Not impressed at all, little pricy. My daughter ordered shrimp basket and she said the shrimp were dirty and some were dirty, and few had tails on, not to mention the size of shrimp tiny. And if carry out make sure you go in few hours before they close, i went in with my son at 8pm after hockey practice, i walked in, and the employees looked at me with disgust. I had to ask them if they were open and they replied, yeah we close at 9pm. Everything cost extra, don’t forget your Big Daddy wallet, go to Portillos

I go to JJC and this is a great place to grab lunch after class! They have great shakes (especially the chocolate nutella) and the hot dogs & wraps are fantastic! Definitely stop by if you have the chance.

The hot dog and turkey in pita and great service and fast and input on order and fast. Combination was good too.

I work in a medical office. It was a busy day & we were hungry. Someone found a menu for this joint, made some copies & 7 of us placed our orders. Because this is the 21^st century & everyone pretty much purchases everything with their debit card & no one ever has cash on them, we paid for 7 different orders with 7 different debit cards. The person taking our order said since we will placing 7 different orders each order will be charged a delivery charge. We get a 30 minute lunch & we were placing our order as planned so when it arrived we could sit down & eat. So there was no time to choose another place to order from. A very nice delivery guy brought us our food & we had to sign our receipt bc we used debit cards. Right on the receipt it says the driver get no part of the $ 2.75 delivery charge. So the restaurant charges $ 2.75 to place the order & have someone else drives it a couple blocks to deliver. Really? $ 2.75to put our food in a bag and hand it to nice delivery guy. Cost me $ 14.00 for a poor boy sandwich & bowl. soup with delivery charge & tip. Food was ok. Nothing to go out of my way for or ever pay $ 2.75 for each order. Sorry johnneys, Jimmy John’s & En Lai have free delivery. This restaurants made $ 19.75 to just take an order over phone. Bad practice. We won’t be ordering from here again

So I have passed this place 100’s of times while going to JJC. Finally I decided to pull in and give it a try.
Immediately I gravitated towards the Big Daddy Burger, and holy cow if it wasn’t the nastiest, greasiest most disgusting burger I have ever had the pleasure of eating… then I don’t know what to tell you!
Check it out. 2 – 3 Patties, Cheese, Grilled Onions, Gyro Meat and Cucumber sauce. YUMMY. I had to unbutton my pants after I ate it.
I can’t wait to go back and try it again, next time I will try the BBQ sauce on it.
I got the french fries which weren’t necessarily memorable. Just normal fries. But that isn’t why you go to this restaurant.
I will try to expand my choices out a little more next time I go. But consider me a fan!

I love this little place. Best hot dogs around. Everything I have had is good, from burgers to gyros.
I am from memphis, but when I come this way this is the only place I eat. Lunch, dinner, and snacks.
My favorite thing is the hot dogs.
It isn’t a big place but they do food right.

This was a great restaurant! Came here after a bowling tournament, starving, of course. Their burgers are AMAZING! The char-​broiled patties taste amazing. Also, try their Nutella shakes. They’re amazing as well!

The burger itself was pretty tasty. Its almost up there with five guys but fell short. The entire burger was super messy, but delicious. I tried the big daddy burger with gyro meat and tzakiztikzkzitsztzti sauce. I would order it agin if I was nearby. I would never go out of my way for this place. Its a typical beef gyro burger dog place. The onion rings were all crunch n no onion. The fries were subpar. It was exactly what I expected

Been living in Joliet the whole 23 years kid of my life (one mile from here) and have never been here. First time here and I ordered the Italian beef with fries, both good. Honestly better than babes, and it gives portillos some competition. I will definitely come back to try more things.

I really wanted to like this place better. Overall it was pretty average. The cheese fries were good! My husband said his gyros was good but could have used more meat! I got the shrimp platter and I have had better. I will go back to try some other things and if the food is better I will up my stars. Until then!

Amazing gyros! Fantastic Italian beef sandwiches!! Very friendly and helpful staff! Clean restaurant! They even packed food for us to take back to Kansas City! Love this place!!!

They have this peach green iced tea from the soda dispenser that is wonderful. You must get the whipped feta app. It is a spicy wonderful dance party on your tongue. The gyro is good, but they have the best cucumber sauce in Joliet.

Delicious food. The chicken gyros have been on point each time I have gotten them and they give you a decent amount of food for a fair price. best random stop choice I ever made.

Excellent gyros. We stopped here en route to Michigan and we’re not disappointed. The gyros were flavorful and very generous. Delicious Greek salad and baklava.
The location itself is counter-​order and the seating is just booths and tables. They offer a few beers and wines as well. Nothing fancy here. But delicious food and it’s fast!

Would have probably been great but the food wasn’t hot at all when it got to my place and I’m only a couple blocks away.

For some reason or another I found myself exploring the Joliet area. I looked up lunch spots in the area and voila… Johnny’s was on my Unilocal search.
I didn’t know what to order at first, but when I saw, «The Big Daddy», which was world famous, I had to have it.
Two beef patties, about half a pound of gyro meat, all on a delicious bun. Crispy on the outside soft and chewy on the inside all topped with delicious cucumber sauce, a whole lot of onion and cheddar cheese. Um yea… need I say more? Alright I will, all accompanied by fresh cut fries and a Diet Pepsi. HAHA Yea cause the Diet Pepsi is going to save me from the fatness right? LOL
The men at Johnny’s were so nice! I went up took some pictures of their hilarious shirts and even got my free cookie brought to me by a Unilocal Check In Offer. SCORE!
