We stock a wide range of specialty flower varieties in order to offer our customers an exclusive gifting experience. Our preserved, dried and fresh botanical art is exclusive to Studio Herbage and won’t be found anywhere else. In addition we carry a wide range of 100% sheep wool felt, roving and cord from the leader in high quality wool felt, LehnerWolle3.

We also specialize in unique one-​of-​a-​kind floral designs for weddings, galas, party’s and other special events. Our designer is AIFD certified; members of AIFD lead the floral industry in advancing the art of professional floral design through education.

Meet the Business Owner

James D.

Business Owner

James A. Dempsey Jr. AIFD, CFD, is the creative director and owner of Studio Herbage, a full-​service floral design studio in Johnstown, NY. In 1999 James received a Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture from the State University of New York and in 2009 received accreditation from the American Institute of Floral Designers for demonstrated excellence in professional floral design. In 2011 James received certification in color and design with a focus on the psychology of color as taught by Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. Since 2003, James has focused on developing products for the mass market industry. Currently, James employs his knowledge and experiences to develop concepts, ideas and products for his clients and customers on a conticontinual basis. His artwork is informed through his international travel as well as his childhood growing up on a small farm in upstate NY, the use of natural elements are also strong influence in his work.
