History

Established in 1956.

Blue’s Fire Extinguisher Service Inc. is a 3 generation family owned & operated company, operating in the Johnstown area since 1956. Dwight B. Blue Sr. started as a fire fighter for the City of Johnstown, and then he saw a need for fire safety and fire schools in the area. With the help of his wife Lavina Elizabeth Blue, Blue’s Fire Extinguisher Service Inc. was founded. Dwight passed the business to his sons, Dwight B. Blue Jr. and David R. Blue. Upon Dwight retiring in March 1999 David and Barbara bought his part of the business. Upon David’s passing in May 2011, his wife Barbara and son D. Richard (Rick) took over the operation of the business.
