With over 70 flavors of cupcakes, over 40 flavors of cake balls and a variety of salty sweet treats you will always find something to hit that sweet tooth any day of the week.

We also offer over 40 flavors of double layer cakes that serve 6 – 16 people. We specialize in making your event one of a kind.

History

Established in 2011.

April 2011 I started a home based cupcake business and over the next 3 years we have tripled in size. In Feb 2014 I was able to quit my corporate job to dedicate my work to my successful cupcake business. We provide cupcakes as a mobile unit going to craft shows, festivals, farmers markets and selling our cupcakes. We come to the customer so you don’t have to come to us! We are expanding our business into a cupcake mix line where you at home can get our tasty cupcakes.

Even though Cupcake Addict is a home based business we are a full time business making sure you get your sweet treats when you need them.

The cupcakes here are AWESOME — I have taken dozens to various meetings and client offices with rave reviews. I always get a separate container with 2 for myself — 1 to shove in my mouth when I get to my car in the parking lot (it’s a moment) and 1 for dessert later that night or the next day. Flavor combos rock and prepared frosting in tubs? MAGIC!!!

We ate here after having pizza at Gusto’s next door. We try really hard to support local Johnston businesses, but we will probably not go back here again. Maybe it was because it was the end of the day, but our cupcakes were rock hard (the cake part).
I was surprised that they didn’t have more selection, and many of the items were very similar. We purchased 4 cupcakes, and the group like 1 of the 4 — the rest were just too dry.
The staff was awesome, and you can tell they work hard. The layout isn’t ideal for dining in, and most people just do take-​away. I would suggest that you come here if you are really close by and see if your experience is different — but about 5 miles away «Bentley’s Bakery» in Urbandale has about the same selection and we liked their cupcakes much better.

The cupcakes were very stale and the staff very rude. We were told they intentionally chose to not have seating. All they had were tiny, knee height side tables. Because it’s great to eat cupcakes while on your knees. If they don’t want us to stay and eat then we will just stay away.

Well… We like and support local but mostly just want what we pay for. Not only were our 2 cupcakes more expensive than our favorite place which I will not name, the two cupcakes we got were dry, and small. One had a burnt bottom. And the other had a low cake to frosting ratio. The lemon raspberry had no discernible lemon flavor. Step up the game. Initially when we walked in we had high hopes due to seeing five employees moving around that were seemingly busy and the joint was clean and inviting. There was a decent selection and their little twist on pretzels they are doing is kind of cool too but, your company name has the word cupcake in it so your cupcakes need to be awesome!

This was my first time trying a cupcake place. Unfortunately I was not impressed. Service was excellent. Cupcakes were small. Selection was all very similar to each-​other. Two cake flavors, two frosting flavors. The only thing that changed them was the topping. I was hoping for larger ones with maybe some ganache middles, or more flavors of cake and frosting. Overall, not worth the price.

Cupcake… yum. This place has a decent selection of cupcakes ready to choose from. About 16 options. Plus another 20+ cake pops options. And about dozen pretzel stick options. This is the first cupcake place I’ve been to that has that many options for cupcakes, cake pops, and pretzel sticks.
We bought a few of each type. Loved them all. Kids loved the pretzel sticks a lot. Definitely will come back in the future.

We arrived late in the day, so the cupcake selection was limited. I had the Triple Peanut Butter, and my wife a chocolate/​butterfinger/​caramel. Both were delicious! Moist and flavorful cake. Creamy and not too heavy/​not too light frosting. My wife and I noticed that the cupcakes were slightly smaller than ones we’ve bought elsewhere, but this was not an issue since they were so satisfying. This was our first visit at this business. If they keep up the good work, we will be regular customers.

Responded amazingly quick. The cupcakes made such a great gift. Delivery was super easy. My boyfriend loved them and said «it was like eating art.» I’d recommend Cupcake Addict to anyone in the Des Moines area!
