We love this place! Anytime we get a chance we will go. Yee Haw brewery is right next door so if your in the mood for some craft beer with your taco this makes it very convenient. The staff is friendly and always has the right answer for any questions you have about the tacos. I always get at least one steak and cheese! The atmosphere is great with plenty of outside seating. This place is a must for a city trying to revamp the downtown area

We tried the Korean Beef, Pork Belly and Lump Crab tacos. All were tasty but the Korean Beef stole the show. I didn’t check out the brewery but the patrons on that side seemed to be enjoying themselves. I’d eat here again.

The food here is amazing. It is a vegan and veggie friendly taco shop, but also has tons of delicious meaty tacos if that’s what you’re looking for. Plus, the service is super speedy. They also have 8 local beers on tap. Overall, it’s a great quick meal.

Tacos are creative, but pricey! I had the Banh Mi Tofu taco and I was unpleasantly surprised to find that the tofu was served cold rather than grilled or warmed. This may not have been such a disappointment had the tofu been cut into smaller slices or chunks; however, it was a large square piece that just gave the sensation of biting into a cold piece of sponge. Not appetizing. I will say that the sauce they used was delicious and had a curry flavoring to it that paired well with the other ingredients. My family had different tacos than I had(the lamb gyro, pork belly, and Chinese chicken) and they all really enjoyed theirs. I would probably try White Duck again, but would order something different. In addition to tacos, we had the chips and queso appetizer. They provided us with mostly broken chips and crumbs, which I find to be a huge no-no in presentation and employee attention to detail. Chips had a good seasoning and crunch to them… cheese could have been spicier, but consistency was nice. As far as having Yee Haw brewery right next door… that is a great business concept and decision to have made! It’s hard to beat having a brewery and a taco shop as neighbors! P. s. The Dunkel at Yee Haw is fantastic.

My husband and I were visiting Johnson City for the first time and ran across this place. It’s really delicious! I got a buffalo chicken taco and a fish taco, my husband got two pork belly tacos. They were all very tasty. The fish taco is the best I’ve had outside of the west cost. The prices are a little high(3.95 per taco), but we both thought the tacos were much more filling than expected. We paired them with chips and queso, and beers from Yee Haw brewery. Yum!

The atmosphere is good for a group and the food comes out quickly. However, the food is mediocre. The Korean beef taco was the best one I tried. This is a better place to drink and hangout with friends instead of eating. I like the arcade games and the fire pit outside.

Three and half stars is probably more accurate(if you include the attached brewery) I’ve been twice to the location — once for the food. This was a hard review to write…(as you will read) because it was a confusing experience. Maybe that’s good maybe it’s bad… time will tell. This little Nouveaux Taco place is attached to a giant man cave(aka yee-haw or hee haw brewery). It is a bizarre set up. A bartender told me «The bar has nothing to do with the restaurant» when I asked for a menu. She then explained that I needed to order at the counter on the other side of the wall. The place is comfortable and looks expensive. It is tough to see the TV’s unless you sit by the big one which has couches in front of it… like a living room, but there was a couple sitting there so… umm, awkward, right? But anyway that is in the bar not the restaurant – and they have nothing to do with one another. The taco place has no menus so be prepared to stand in front of the counter and stare up, like in an unfamiliar fast food place. Stand a little back – away from the«c’mon decide already» feeling. Because the menu is not your normal(Mexican) taco menu which makes it your decision take a little longer. It has varied and interesting ingredients that you have to ponder. That being said the food had good flavor. The gyro taco was tasty, but a little dry. The buffalo chicken taco was filling, but I’m not partial to «fried» buffalo chicken(i like it without the breading). I was happy to get some kimchee which was crunchy and spicy. The tortilla soup was average. Oh, another little hiccup in this«separate but equal» set up: the guy who brought my food couldn’t find me, so it took a little effort on my part to chase him down and show him my little number card. The place is in a great location, but, then again, there already is a taco place and kimchee place downtown, oh well. I don’t know… The outdoor setting is really nice and the man cave looks expensive and feels comfy, but the drink choices are limited to beer. Although, you can probably get soda from the taco place, but I had ordered a beer already from the bartender. It is a «brewery» so there are no mixed drinks or wine. Maybe the taco place serves wine. I’m getting mixed up here… yikes! The music was soft 70’s, or something… the eagles and other light slow stuff… Maybe that changes depending on time or staff. But again that is not the Taco place making the music choice. All in all, it is a lot to take in. The staff seemed unconcerned that this set up is a little unusual. And it is hard to separate my review, like the staff has separated the two places in their minds. I will go back, and I will probably be more comfortable, but I worry about the people who don’t live close like I do. Will they come back? Final answer: Taco place is 3 stars…

Delicious! A friend and I went for lunch today for the first time. We got 3 different tacos a piece, split some chips and Queso and tried the kimchi salad. It was all very good! The service was excellent as well. What a over all great experience! We will defiantly be back!

It’s been a hit and miss for me. Sometimes tacos are so warm and fresh, sometimes they are cold and manky. Awesome beer selection(of course, who doesn’t like local craft beer?) and decorations. And the broskies can kinda annoy you, so stay away during evening/weekend if you are like me. Ashville location is more consistent with quality — but then there are the hipsters.

Queso fabulous. Cheddar chipotle Grits on the side are my favorite. Korean taco — good one time, unique. Bankok shrimp — delicious and different, love the cucumbers. Steak and cheese — traditional, good flavor. Duck mole — our favorite taco — great flavor combinations. Atmosphere could not get better. Relaxed. Mellow.

I’m glad I didn’t read too much of the reviews before going here, or else I might have skipped some wonderful tacos! Went with 2 others so was able to try all of these tacos: Korean beef, spicy shrimp, fish, pork belly, gyro, and duck. I liked all of them, with Korean beef being my favorite overall, the spicy shrimp was indeed the spiciest(just nicely spicy, not painfully so), and the only one I would improve upon was the duck, it came out a bit dry so adding some queso made it better. I was quite hungry so I ate 3 tacos and some chips and queso, but I bet most people would be happy with 2 tacos. Each taco was in the $ 3 – 5 range and I thought they were absolutely worth it. The ordering line was nearly out the door and I was concerned at first, but the line moved quickly and maybe 10 minutes after arriving we placed an order for 8 tacos and queso, and by the time we settled on a table and sat down, a server was right there with all of our food. Someone checked on us twice while we were eating and we were happy to report we liked the food and everything was great. I don’t know what sort of royal treatment some of the other reviewers are used to, but I felt like I had perfectly polite and punctual service from a busy staff on a Saturday night and got a good value of quality food for a reasonable price. Will absolutely eat here again when in the area.

Incredibly pleased with this establishment. I am not sure what happened with the customers that have poor reviews but my experience was far from poor. My party tried 5 of the tacos(pork belly, Thai chicken, Bangkok shrimp, carnitas, jerk chicken) all were flavorful and filling. The pork belly claiming the spot as our favorite. The atmosphere has a great«hangout» feel. Outdoor patio with fireplace and yard games like bocce ball and corn hole. Inside had lots of large tables and couches to choose from. Not many small tables. Can get pricy if you are a big eater but two tacos is plenty with chips and queso(which was delicious btw) I will return and brings many more friends next time!

I enjoyed everything about this place. I tried the duck, gyro, and shrimp style tacos today and a bottle of Cheerwine. Also had the homemade queso a chips. I like the presentation and choices — all trendy and fun. Also — they accept Amex — not everyone does.

I really loved the environment and the tastes at the White Duck Taco Shop and our family had fun playing the games and going back to order cafeteria style. My daughter was so impressed with the atmosphere and the proximity to Founders Park that she decided she wanted her birthday party to be held there. I called around 8 times with no answer and left 4 different messages but no one could be bothered to call back. On their voicemail, they request that you not ‘reserve’ a table but with a 15 – 20 person party, I wanted to be sure we would have sufficient service. I drive by almost daily and would see a line around the side of the building when they first opened. This tells me that they don’t really need my business and Holy Taco(small, locally owned) will see us more often!

The firepit outside looks cool, that is about it. Service is non-existent and food is not terrible, but bland. Like putting cut up cardboard and skim milk in a paper towel taco shell. Or maybe it is just me…

Was in town for a friend’s wedding and had extra time to kill earlier in the day. What better way to do it than with tacos for lunch?! Came in at around 1:30 on a Saturday and the place was hoppin’(no pun intended). Busy enough to have a lively atmosphere, but not so busy that there was a wait for tables or food. My husband and I decided to split everything in order to try as much as possible. Queso and chips – great appetizer. Plenty of food and would easily feed more than just 2 people. BBQ carnitas – like a pulled pork sandwich, but in taco form Fish taco – this one was just ok, nothing special. If I had to do it all over again, would probably skip this one. Jerk chicken – great flavor, chicken was tender Bangkok shrimp – this one was recommended to us by the cashier who said it was one of the top sellers. Shrimp was nicely fried and the glaze was sweet. If you aren’t a fan of sweet, you might want to skip. I’m not, but since I was splitting with my husband, half of the taco was plenty enough to enjoy without being overwhelmed. Crispy pork belly – nice char and loved the crunch from the watermelon Mole roasted duck – good flavor from the mole sauce The tacos are quite large and filling. We didn’t actually finish some of them because it ended up being so much food. I don’t regret being able to try so many flavors, but I think we would have been fine splitting 4 rather than 6 and an app. That being said, we found the price to be extremely reasonable. Our entire order was only around $ 30. Aside from the food, we liked the overall feel of the place. Probably helps that it is connected to the brewery. Loved being able to sit outside by the fire pit. Plenty of seating, but not much in the way of parking in the lot. Staff was very friendly.

Unique and intermittently delicious. The pricing is a bit high, and as others have said the queso dip is top notch. Although I believe chips ‘n queso should always be accompanied by salsa, that(like everything here) costs extra. If you like Valentina hot sauce(I love the stuff), that is readily available. We tried a handful of different tacos, served«street taco» style, and each was You kind of set your own table inside, and it will take 2 people or multiple trips to get drinks, a napkin dispenser, S&P, and hot sauce. Today was too cold to enjoy the nice patio, but inside is a good atmosphere for hanging out and watching the game. Among the awkward things going on here, there aren’t many tables for small parties. Plenty of huge tables, a few enormous ones, and really comfy couches with tiny adjustable height tables. It’s good and unique, but not worth waiting in line for. There are plenty of tasty tacos in the neighborhood.

Excellent tacos! Well prepared and imaginative selections. The Mole Roasted Duck with apple cranberry salsa and the Lamb Gyro with cucumber and feta were wonderful. Would like to try the other 14. Very quick service. If only the seating was better.

Fantastic taco restaurant! It’s a pay and order setup and the line is usually out the door, buts it’s totally worth the wait. The tacos are so refined and bursting with flavor. Even some of the crazy ingredients are just mouthwatering! Can’t wait to get back and eat here again!

First the bad– only one register so we waited 20 minutes to order. The line for the register is right in front of the door so very awkward to enter restaurant. The good– Great food! The tofu taco & fish taco are so flavorful. The house made queso is also very delicious! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant is kept very clear and the food came out fast. We will definitely be back!
