History

Established in 2013.

My husband picked the location in downtown Johnson City, TN. He had always wanted to open an organic/​hydroponic store and realized that JC was finally ready for one. We married in March of 2013, and I was added to the mix. Our thinking was that our city and country needed to do its part on eliminating our carbon footprint that our nation continuously stomps on this planet daily. If we can do our part and show our community what we as the people can do to implement sustainable living, we would be starting to do our part. Hopefully in the nearby future we can with other business owners start to grow some food on our roof tops and provide a little farm to table gardening.

My husband and I are both from the area. Yancy graduated from Carter County schools in 1991. I graduated from Science Hill in Johnson City, TN in 1997. I was very fortunate to gain a big family when I married Yancy in March of 2013. Upon marrying him, I became a step-​mom to four beautiful girls Paige, Rose, Lilli, Laney and one handsome boy, Max. We are also grandparents to a sweet baby grandson Quentin. If you have been in Downtown Farming, you have most likely met our shop fur babies, Bella and Mia… they are rotten! On our off time we are white water rafting, skiing, hiking or camping on one of the beautiful playgrounds around our neck of the woods here in Tennessee or nearby North Carolina. We are very conscious of our earth and the delicate state it is in. One major reason my husband decided to open this business was so we could educate and provide others with some of the tools it is going to take to help our mother earth. We must not turn a blind eye anymore!
