Established in 1984.

Seamar Construction started designing and building customs homes on Kiawah Island 30 years ago and has continued to be a general contractor with a great reputation as a luxury home builder in the surrounding areas of Charleston, SC.

Meet the Business Owner

Steve P.

Business Owner

Steve grew up in the construction business. «My grandfather was a cabinet maker, and it was during those many summers working in his shop, that I learned to love wood working.» His education in the trade continued under the tutelage of his uncle, a home builder. Early in his career Steve was fortunate to have gained the invaluable experience of working with «real building contractors.» He explained that back in those days they literally built the entire home, not using many subcontractors; they cleared the lots, poured the foundations, did the framing and installed the siding. «This hands-​on experience now makes it easier to communicate with both employees and subcontractors, they know that almost anything that I ask of them, I have done myself,» Steve said. He has been building in the Charleston area since 1982 and joined the Seamar group in 1994
