Wifi is super slow but nice atmosphere. Clean and not outdated. Quiet too! If wifi was fast it be a 4 for sure. I come here because it’s close to my house but I go to the one on Spalding because of their wifi speed

This is my favorite library. The staff is absolutely wonderful and such a delight to talk to! The ladies at the circulation desk are so helpful and welcoming. The quiet areas are huge and so refreshing, i often go to study here and love it. The collection of books itself is wonderful as well. The activities and book nooks organized by the friends of the library is quite a treat as well.

I visired this library during the week to get some work done. There are two quiet areas, one is equipped with computers. The staff that you see has been working here for quite some time and are always very helpful. I believe they have kids entertainment and activities every now and then as well as other community events like yoga. I like it because of the giant windows and cubicles providing the perfect blend of focus and mind freshener. Of all the libraries in the area, this one is definitely the best!

This is one of the newer branches in the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System. I was lucky enough to work as a reference librarian here before I ran off to San Francisco. Because the area had grown so much and was lacking in libraries, the public demanded that it open before it was even fully stocked. That meant I spent a lot of time buying more books and cds for the place. It was so much fun to spend tons of money on brand spanking new books! I would get soooooooo excited to see the UPS truck pulling up the driveway. Because it is in a totally wealthy suburban area where MARTA doesn’t go, we never had to deal with any homeless camping out in the library like they did downtown. We even had some local celebrities that used the branch — namely newscasters and Tom Glavine from the Braves. Actually, one of the funniest days ever was when Tom Glavine came in without his library card and my co-worker at the circulation desk didn’t recognize him. It was totally like one of those Visa commercials, where she was refusing to check out the books to him without his card. I could barely contain myself I was laughing so hard. I hate sports and even I knew who he was! One of my other favorite memories here involved this older guy who worked across the street at the golf course. He had quite a crush on one of my co-workers, who was probably 20 years younger than him. When Valentine’s Day rolled around, he put a card for her in the book-drop and signed it with his library card number. Cute! Ahhhh Spruill Oaks, I miss you my friend. I miss the sound of the rain on your metal roof. I miss your awesome selection of books. I miss your sweet staff members. I even miss answering the phone with every word of your overly long name. Update 09/05/2007: I just stopped by the library this weekend to say hi. I couldn’t believe that the staff members are now wearing identification badges with their full first and last names! Boo to AFPL for not being concerned with the personal safety of its employees. Negative 5 stars for that decision. As someone who had to deal with a creepy stalker while working with the public, there is no way that I cannot mention the new badges here. Boo AFPL!!!
