I hired Moody Movers in Dec 2013. Initially everything went well. The guy seemed nice on the phone. The crew came to the house on time as planned. They were very careful moving the furniture and took time to wrap Everything. Be careful. They charge by the hour. Maybe they were pacing themselves. None of the guys looked younger than 50 years old. We had them store our stuff for a few weeks so one guy was doing inventory of our things and only 2 guys to do the heavy work. So be sure to have your own guys there to help and speed up the process. Things got messy when it was time to get our stuff from their warehouse(in Columbia MD) to my new house. Initially Mr. Moody said they can be at the house Friday at 4pm. I said great I be there by after 330pm. Then he said No, someone has to be at the house from 1−4pm(even thought they wont be there until 4pm). That didn’t work. They were booked on Saturday. They were closed on Sunday. We agreed to 1−4pm on Monday. I called them at 2pm on Monday only to find out the truck wouldn’t start and they weren’t sure what time they would be at my house. After me calling a few times to find the status of the truck situation(no one ever called me). Moody said he may have to unload one truck and put everything into another truck… Long story short, they finally get to my house at 930pm, after telling me twice, he would arrive in 90min. The original contract stated a 3 man team. Only 2 men showed up. Mr Moody tried to charge me for 3 men loading the truck at his warehouse, even though only 2 men came to my house. He tried to charge me a travel fee to and from my house. This might have been OK if it was stated up front. And there was only one travel fee for the initial move. He also wanted to charge me for loading the truck from his warehouse, as if there was another way to get the truck loaded. We finally finished unloading the truck after midnight. We ended up getting a sizeable discount but only after pointing out Moody Movers many mistakes. Also, if any of your items are damaged they take NO responsiblitiy even though the website mentions insurance. Moody never offered it, nor did any of the paperwork. Do not use these guys for anything that will take more than 1 day. Be sure to have your team in place to speed up the process. They try to milk the clock.

Absolute worst communication with moving I’ve ever had. I called these guys looking for movers and scheduling a move for between 1−3pm. At 1pm I called for an ETA and they said they were missing a credit card deposit, which I would’ve gladly given them if they’d let me know it was required to confirm. Never called me back to let me know that they were missing information from me to confirm after we’d scheduled everything! The actual move was fine and they were efficient, which is why I’m giving them 3 stars… but seriously, moving day shouldn’t have been so stressful.
