Truchan Bros. Auto & Towing

Had a flat tire so called AAA and Truchan came with in the hour. Carlos was great! Told me that I didn’t need a new tire (which I thought I did), but that it just needed to be fixed so he drove me up to the shop to drop off car, then was kind enough to drive me to the PATH so I could head into work. Such a nice guy. Even referred me to a place to get tune ups and tires if needed. Highly recommend these guys!

Car died from a dead battery. Needed a quick jump and called AAA at 8pm to get a service to jump. I was quoted 45 – 60 minutes. I am writing this 11:15pm and they still havent come. Every time I call AAA, Truchan Bros, the company responsible for helping me with the jump, tells dispatch @ AAA «another 20 – 30 minutes» they’ll be here. That was over 3 hours.
These guys are the worst and do not take care of customers that are utilizing AAA.

These guys have always done right by me. I have AAA and they’ve always come out much sooner than the expected wait time and towed me or jumped my battery. Always professional and good guys. They’re gonna catch shit on here because they are also a private tow company so anyone that gets their car towed is likely going to give a bad review even though 90% of the time they are in the wrong. They came out to jump me twice and I dropped my car off with them and they fixed the problem in an hour and very reasonable. Jonathan was a great guy and so was the girl at the counter. She even arranged for someone to take me back to work as they were on their way to another job. Great experience for me with service and repair.

Today is Christmas Eve and after doing a couple of errands my car died. I called AAA and they sent Truchan out to tow my car. The driver, Tony was great. He said it was most likely the battery, he gave it a jump and it worked great! He said I probably needed a new battery, so he called the shop and they had me come over. It was installed quickly and efficiently and was on my way. Kaylene was great and so helpful. The owner even stopped by for a chat. I was very impressed and grateful that they got everything taken care of so quickly. I give them an A+++. I was really lucky they were even open on Christmas eve!

These people put an engine in my car 6 months to this date– since then I have been having electrical problems (car seat moving, lights on and off on their own). An electrical car specialists advised me to go back to them because ground wire may have become loose when they were putting in the engine. This morning my car wouldn’t even start– I called the owner– he told me to come on down. Triple A towed my car to the shop– shortly after the owner started accusing me of getting a recent paint job on the passenger side (implying that I was in a recent accident) He and the short mechanic guy were in agreement that they wouldn’t even touch my car after I spent $ 3500 with them 6 months ago (because My Warranty was UP). In the cold– I had to beg the mechanic to at least give me a jump so that I could find another mechanic shop. Ladies and Gentlemen– stay clear of businesses like these. They are not competent and very unprofessional.

Never do business with these guys, they are a company of unprofessional people… the owner and employees misbehaved and blackmailed when I went to collect my car that they towed away yesterday. I captured a small clip of their behavior and have posted it on YouTube — here is the link

Now the complete story — I parked my car at Modell’s/Staples parking lot in Jersey City but did not visit their store… and understandably my car was towed away. I saw their guy towing away my car right in front of the parking lot and asked him to stop but he handed me a visiting card and asked me to collect the car from the address mentioned on the card after paying a fine of $ 150. I told him that I was ready to pay and he should release the car but he told me to step back and drove away saying that I would need to go to their company to collect the car. Within a few minutes I took a taxi to their office to collect my car. To my surprise they asked me to pay $ 182 to release the car and when I asked for details, the lady behind the counter said they will charge $ 30 for putting the car on their property. I told her that the towing guy refused to hand over my car when I stopped him infront of the parking lot to which she asked me to speak with the owner who was standing outside. The owner first aggressively blocked the car from behind with a lift truck to intimidate us and when we tried to talk to him, he refused to listen and asked us to pay $ 182 immediately… he threatened me and my wife and started abusing us with things like «you may have bombs on you» and «you look like terrorists». This is when I collected some courage to capture at least some part of the conversation in a video and immediately one of their employees charged at me blabbering f* word as you can see in the video… the other voice you hear is my wife asking me not to shoot as she was threatened and feared that they may hurt us and we were genuinely scared… the abusive guy then went on to boast to his boss that he showed me a finger and abused me to which his boss seemed very pleased and told us that «this is what they did everyday»…I was threatened and intimidated so I paid the guys and went to my car and noticed scratches because of towing, i also noticed they had entered the car while it was parked there since the seat was pushed back and power/​hand brake was on. I went to the owner again but he said that he doesn’t give a damn and I should call the police but we were already traumatized and decided to leave the premises as staying there any further could have meant injuries or damage to our car…

Got broken down right on ¹⁄₉ — busy road, awfully stressful. Truchan was there in less than 30 minutes and towed me quickly and painlessly. Thank you, the best tow I ever had!
It’s a AAA tow company, and they’ll get you in no time when in trouble, no waiting around wondering where that truck could have gone missing.
