New to the area but this is definitely a great find. Pleasant service from owner and excellent ingredients in tasty food.

This is a nice and cozy little coffee shop tucked away behind Hamilton Park. We ate a couple of the vegetarian sandwiches which were quite delicious and polished off with some hot tea. The owner can seem over eager but she means well and is very sweet. Overall a great addition to the neighborhood and I would go back again!

I stopped coming here for the simple reason of the owner being very bizarre. I felt like Larry David in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm the last time I visited. The owner just killed my experience of this being a quaint place. She would NOT stop talking and even went as far as asking me to take a picture of the sandwich she made for her shops Instagram. GTFOH. I left and didn’t even get a cup of coffee.

I found this place by searching Unilocal as I’m from the city and know little of JC. I stayed the night in JC with a friend and took the day off to enjoy the 75 degree weather in March and ended up having breakfast here. I ordered my large latte and a breakfast sandwich egg, spinach, chili flakes and added turkey bacon. While I ordered, I conversed with the owner who is a delight! We spoke of technology, food industry and my hospitality and now healthcare background. Some similarities and some differences(which is normal). I was fascinated and intrigued when I read some reviews on how she’s ‘very intense, discussion on religion’ etc. and I saw no problem because unless she was making you sign up or join her in her crusade– so what?! When I think coffee I think«bold, rich and intense» and she exemplified what I was looking for. I also enjoy my coffee with a pastry or sandwich and I instantly knew this was the place. I sat next to a map of South America and had a perfect view of all who entered while I enjoyed my latte. It made me giggle at times because I saw a few of the review play out and I think most of what transpired is a loss in translation. One person came in to get a decaf coffee and a vegan meal(I swear I will never comprehend the decaf reasoning), another lovely woman with her adorable daughter engaged the owner in plant care and how she can improve the quality of her plants lives by making some changes to the pots(she was lovely and even began watering and caring while I watched) and so on. This place is charming and as a New Yorker born and raised by my Dominican parents I’ve seen much of what makes us this melting pot– full of richness and variety– is that we want things quick, easy and many are ok with the generic. I love the ‘tude, the organic conversation and I had such a lovely time I would definitely be back. Folks if you want no personality, no richness and generic go to Starbucks or wherever else– small businesses can be a target and rather than support them some crucify. Reflect and ask yourself ‘why am I doing this?’ before you write your review. Buen provecho!

Thank you Luciana(sp?). The lovely proprietor-ess of this new café. She offered advice on the menu and a free Brazilian delicacy, yucca cheese bread. This delicious roll is gluten-free and TASTY. I ordered the minestrone soup and avocado toast, which I will be back for. Great spot for a bite, and to get a little reading/writing/work done.

Twice more we’ve been here since our first positive experience, and the coffee drinks had the grinds in them and really watered down. =(

I just moved to JC and went to do some work on the 1st Sun in January since I don’t have internet hooked up yet. It was small and quiet, the tomato soup was delicious, ham and cheese sandwich was simple, tasty and went perfectly with the soup. I wasn’t crazy about the coffee, but I understand some people go out of their way for that type of coffee. I’ll probably go with tea next time I go back. The owner said internet didn’t usually start until 3pm on Sundays but it was 2:15 and there was only one other patron in the café at the time. Good thing she let me use it since that was half of my reason for going. Also, the jazz music that day was really nice and good for both listening or working to. Overall, I look forward to another visit.

Stopped into seven sheep after seeing a little chalkboard advertisement pop up at the end of my block. The chalk board had scribble on it, and as a chalkboard artist, i saw they needed some help on it, so I decided to stop in for a coffee and offer to do the chalk board FORFREE. The owner was not friendly at all, looked at me like I was crazy for offering my service in exchange for nothing at all and continued to tell me they change the boards too frequently so there’s no point is doing something nice. Okay fair enough… Except two days later I’m Walking past and I see the chalkboard, redone in much more legible and in illustrative fashion…(Tho I could have done MUCH better) such a joke. The coffee was good but the ownership isn’t welcoming at all. Won’t be back.

I guess I haven’t had Joe’s coffee for a very long time, too long that I almost forgot the feeling of nostalgia, the exact feeling Joe’s coffee could bring me. My cinnamon roll served in seven sheep was vegan and GF — tasted equally good without toasting. My coffee was smooth and long-lasting. I would rather spend a whole afternoon here, with a book in hand. Yes, when I think of sheep, I think of tame and home.

Getting a coffee here is asking for not only coffee but a basic lesson in theology. The owner is intense. Like religious-quote-written-on-the-mirror-at-the-entrance intense. The latte was good as they brew Joe coffee(first time I see it in Jersey) but not good enough to endure another lecture on religion and how we are essentially WRONG to think differently than the owner(who apparently isn’t just an expert on café business but also on ALL religions). The café itself is set up strangely, sort of uninviting but it also didn’t help that on the particular morning my lover and I ventured into Seven Sheep there were a ton of bees at the front. Also, the owner proceeded to kill the bees while lecturing us on religion. My lover, clearly entertained by the absurdity of it all, went tête-à-tête with the lady on religion, as she assured us that she wasn’t killing the buzzing bees but simply grabbing them and setting them free, releasing them right outside the door. I honestly did not care but I did consider it oddly intriguing that as she discussed«finding Jesus» I could not stop thinking of candy man and all the bees that would buzz out of his open wounds. Nightmarish indeed! You’ve been warned.

A really nice Joe’s coffee in a pleasant atmosphere. This place is so nice that I am almost addicted. The cappuccino is so good… They have an amazing ham and cheese croissant and cheese breads that are a great complement of that good coffee. Also, the atmosphere is very cozy and cute, like a real living room and it’s how I feel there.

The first time I walked into this place, my initial feeling was, «Ahh, exactly what I wanted!» It’s a delightful no-stress café, with high quality coffee and teas, and surprisingly amazing food if you decide to have a full on lunch. If you are going with a quick sugar bite, there are some excellent homemade pastries and other edible doodads on display. Sandwich-wise I have tasted on the delicious pulled pork in a brioche with red pepper and cucumber additions that were so good; highly recommended. As well, the much advertised almond croissant was really great, it has to be the most popular item as people have already had confrontations over attaining the last remaining ones. So overall, splendid drink options, and definitely some wonderful food choices that I am sure will expand as the place establishes itself and grows its roots. Ambiance-wise, this is something that attracted me right away, with the large openly decorated window display with a big shaft of sunlight streaming in. The instrumental music fits the café very well, and the interior decorating is very pleasing with numerous antique objects, chairs and attractive indoor plants. Size-wise, this café is very long, but very narrow. In retrospect, I think this works for the café as you can sit in the back and be completely out of sight and sound of people coming in and out of the front. As well, the ceiling is very high, so this makes up for the space being very narrow. There is not a huge selection of seats and tables so you have to make due with the available options, also some of the tables are communal, so you may have to get chummy with a neighbor ot two. One strong quality about the place to note is that it seems to attract conversation and friendliness. The owner will chat with you openly if you choose, otherwise you can zone out into your own work easily as well. To sum this up, this café is well deserving of high praise. If you are considering coming here, don’t hesitate to try it out; you can have a great meal made by an excellent chef right in front of you, or just a coffee to go. It is a fresh new addition to the Hamilton Park area, and I hope it gets the opportunity to stick around for awhile.

Seven Sheep on Seventh Sunday morning, in search of new coffee shop. I found a spot that serves JOE coffee, The only spot in JC that serves JOE. The owner Luciane, from Bergen county quickly asked what made you come here? Easy answer Unilocal. Luciane, a Pious person as we can tell from the name of the coffee shop, Spoke to me about life, religion. We were in deep conversation about fundamentals of reality. The universe is universal. Reality is real. Existence exists. It was intense for Sunday morning. However, I did enjoy my espresso, with milk. She pulled a good shot. As I drank my coffee I took a seat on the vintage arm chair. Above it sat a mirror that had a prayer written on it in either an erasable marker or lipstick. The place was very bright. and felt more like a sanctuary than a coffee shop. , .

Stopped by here on a Sunday morning for a quick coffee. The space is wonderful with a small seating area in the back of the shop. The iced coffee I had was great reasonably priced. We also grabbed a delicious croissant. My girlfriend is very picky about croissants, and she though it was flaky, buttery, and fantastic. Great little neighborhood coffee spot tucked back behind Hamilton Park. A nice addition to the neighborhood.

A homey and relaxed atmosphere café. I stayed around this area for a week, and visited almost everyday. The cozy atmosphere comes from not only its layout, but also its owner, Lucienne. It was fun to have chat with her. Coffee is, of course, nice, and foods are must-eat. Ham and cheese, and quiche are my favorite.

Tucked on a quiet street is a hidden gem that is this coffee shop. Do it. The ambience is living room chic meets urban fun. Mixed furniture with exposed brick makes it for a welcoming and relaxing establishment. The espresso is on point. Delicious Arabic bean will make you want to sip every last drop. The owner especially is delightful. Her passion for coffee and people is blunt and unapologetically wonderful. Pour over coffee is an art and this woman is Picasso. In conclusion, enjoy it. Come. Unwind. Be happy.

I’m very pleased to have this new addition to the neighborhood. While I’ve only been once so far, I expect to become a regular in short order. Solid iced coffee for a reasonable price. The layout is well appointed and bright. Everything is off to a good start, looking forward to trying out some more of what they’ve got on offer and getting some freelance work done at the tables in the back once fall sets in.
