Excellent museum for the whole family. You can spend hours here. The Titanic exhibit with the real discovered artifacts was intense but a must see.

Great place for fun and learning! It has a lot of «wow» factors for sure, like the iMax theater. They have made it even more interesting and interactive since I was a kid. I love going to the science center with my family. I’m probably going to get a membership this summer for us.

A bit expensive but the number of activities and demonstrations that are included. Staff was very very nice and patient. My kids loved it! You have to have a very open mind if you’re coming without kids though. I have to say that I didn’t have high hopes for there Skyscraper Exhibit but that may have been my favorite :) We’ll definitely be back – so the membership makes sense even though we’re from «out on the island»

First visit here with my 2.5yr old. Met up with family who have kids and they had a blast running around. The under 5 area was especially fun for him. I fortunately asked if my employer had a corporate membership and got in for free. If you have a large employer, ask! Otherwise, the membership is a good value if you think you’ll make more than 2 trips a year.

Large science museum in Jersey City. It is actually located about halfway between downtown Jersey City and Bayonne and took me awhile to get to (combination of the PATH train and light rail). This place is very similar to the Hall of Science in Queens and like that one, is meant for children with lots of interactive exhibits and games. There are sections dedicated to all scientific fields so there is something for everyone. This is definitely a good museum to take the kids to for the day.

I took my 20 month old to LSC yesterday and he loved it. I only explored the toddler friendly exhibits and he had a blast, so did I lol. Definitely will be going back!

This place is definitely a great place to bring your kids, but if you don’t have any, and you feel like an overgrown kid yourself, just come here yourself! All the attractions are probably a lot more mind blowing if you’re 8 years old, but they let you participate in the activities even if you are much older. The rock walls are always fun (though some little kids might snicker at you for being «so big!») The touch tunnel is pretty cool too, even though it’s not exactly pitch black anymore because there’s some light leakage in some spots. The infinity climber is fun, if you can squeeze yourself through some of the small spots. And it’s fun to see the fish and other animals. The leaf cutter ant farm was especially intriguing. So if you’ve got some time to while away, give this place a visit.

Lots of fun activities for your kids. A number of puzzle stations (some are fun) and explore stations (feel like Exploratorium in San Francisco). The touch tunnel and the action station were popular. The touch tunnel is basically a small pitch black maze where you crawl through. They also take some photos of you inside the maze so don’t forget to check them out.
They also have rock climbing (vertical and horizontal). The horizontal one was quite a lot harder. The infinity climber was also fun. The weight limit is 300lbs so we went in. There were so many kids in there so it was slow to move around and there are some parts that are tight for us (small adults). It was my favorite though.
They have other exhibits like interactive learning about energy, communication, and contagion which were fun but some of the stations were broken.
They also have exhibits on Hudson River and ecosystem (cool leaf-​cutter ants, exotic animals/​insects from Madagascar, etc). A touch tank from 3:30pm-5pm where you can touch the fish, sea urchin, other small sea creatures as well.

Awesome way to spend the afternoon with kids of all ages. There are so many creative, engaging and enriching activities and they change it up fairly frequently so that there is always something familiar and something new to explore. We come here several times a year. It is expensive, so glad for any discounts we can find. The kids completely love to come and spend hours running around and exploring with their brains and bodies!

Very fun place for kids and children to learn all sorts of things. My school always arranged trips here since I was a kid and I’ll bring my children when they’re of age. There are plenty of exhibits, animals, and displays for children to interact with.

I haven’t been to LSC since I was in 4^th Grade. I recall the Touch Tunnel and Enormous Contracting Ball. I purchased 4 Groupons priced at $ 12.00 each a deal compared to $ 22.50-$ 25 each. I visited on a Sunday and there were no crowds. Check in was easy, lines moved fast.
The exhibits were not too thrilling. The positive is that there is something for every age group but limited to some. The Dora & Diego Rain Forest exhibit on the 4^th floor is appropriate for ages 1 – 3. I felt there could have been more exhibits and labs for the age group 4 – 6. My daughter enjoyed the animal exhibits the most. Touch Tank and the reptiles, fish and Tamarins. checked out the Zombie Chamber on the Disease and Infection exhibit floor. Very interesting in a good way. There are several active climbing and exploring exhibits for kids 7 – 12. Labs and shows are more age appropriate for that group.
We stopped by the Skyline Café for lunch. A kids meal was $ 5.15 featuring a burger or hot dog on a whole wheat bun with a choice of a apple or orange. I ordered a Greek Pizza made in a brick oven fresh in front of me. $ 7.17 for a small personal pie. Prices are reasonable but if you have time, BROWN BAG IT. Drinks are $ 2.00−2.50. They provide a 10% off coupon at check-​In. Parking is $ 7, if you can find street parking, good luck.

This place is fun for kids and adults both. The approach with Liberty Science Center is to make learning about science interactive. They use a combination of reading facts and interacting with the exhibits to build on what they just read.
One of the most popular exhibits is the Touch Tunnel. It’s worth waiting in line for and parents are encouraged to teach their children about what is real purpose is. It not only teaches about blindness but how difficult it is to move around in a world if you were blind. Going through the tunnel completely dark with other people around you is scary and your other senses heighten.
The traveling exhibits have always been great as well as well as their special night exhibits (like Lunar Mania to teach about the Supermoon eclipse).
The IMAX theatre is amazing.
If you live in the area and think you might go twice a year or more, the membership makes complete sense. Not only do you get a free IMAX movie on your membership signup day but they offer discounts to other museums around the country and some local dining options.
No matter what, I’ve always gone and learned something here even as an adult.

This place was actually really cool and I was excited to experience it, although tickets can be a bit pricey if you have a large family. Luckily enough I caught a great deal on Groupon and was able to save almost $ 10 per person.

Seniors (Age 62+): $ 18.75
Group membership is cheaper. I went with a group of 5 (including myself, one other adult and 3 children) and realized that my trip would have been cheaper if I purchased a membership. The membership allows a family of 6 (2 adults and 4 children) and only costs $ 155. It practically pays for itself by the second visit. Now onto the fun stuff… This place has four floors so its definitely an all day excursion. Not privy to how many activities and exercises were available, I arrived around 3pm, the center closed at 5:30 and we barely got through two floors. Upon entering we were entranced with the Hoberman Sphere in the middle of the first floor. Its a metallic sphere that contacts and expands up to 20 feet. Its really cool to watch. We really enjoyed the da Vinci Surgical Robot Exhibit on the first floor. It was a 3D simulator for surgeons in training. On the second floor there were spaceship simulators and an area filled with separate activities. The kids chose to spend most of their time creating and launching rockets they made out of straw, construction paper, putty and a little bit of air pressure. After about and hour we stopped for a snack in their cafeteria. Pretty standard food that you’d probably see at a sporting event (chicken tenders, hotdogs, hamburgers, nachos and pizza) the food was satisfying and we continued our journey to the third floor. Unfortunately the center was beginning to close so we did some quick exploring in the Infinity Climber which is basically a a jungle gym suspended in mid air enclosed by wire and protective mesh. I’ll definitely go back because there was so much we didn’t get to experience, but this time I’m buying the membership.

Great science center with four floors of locks of science entertaining and learning for the kids and adults alike. Plenty to do the only thing is they charge for certain things that I feel should be included in the admission. And also they charge $ 7 to park which i think is a joke

Came here yesterday for the first time in years with my niece and nephew. I bought two adult tickets on groupon, but needed to purchase my nephews ticket ($ 17 for a 3 year old). Niece was free since she’s under 2. The ticket line was insanely slow and about 40 people long when we got on line. For a Sunday, which is probably one of their busiest days, I was surprised to see only 3 of the 10 or so ticket lines open. We waited in line about 20 – 25 minutes.
I knew there wouldn’t be a ton for them to do since they’re so young, but their website and other Unilocal reviews made me feel like there would’ve been more. We played in the Explore room, the big foam blocks room, and saw the lizards and turtles. We went into the other rooms but unless the child is old enough to read, there wasn’t much to stimulate them. We had a nice day, but left after an hour because we ran out things for them to do.
Fortunately I had found a good groupon deal, but had we spent full price, it would’ve costed us almost 60 dollars for admission, plus the 7 dollars to park your car. Definitely search the groupon, it saves almost half price on adult admission.
It’s a nice, clean facility and plenty to do if your child is old enough. My 3 star rating is more for the long, slow lines and crazy pricing.

Have not been here in so many years. Last time was on field trip with my son who is now 26.
So now with granddaughter and nieces and newphews. And this place is a world of learning and fun. There is so much to do for all ages and all walks of life.
This is a great place. I do not think it is expensive. The food was, so good. I had this Flatbread however I want pizza. Very good how the fresh bake it. Delicious.
Will take you easy 3 – 4 hours to get from top to bottom and than you have to do a movie. So we did the 3D movie last as we had we to be leaving. Now they can go home and tell about their experiences

Great place ! I am a kid at heart and any time I can climb walls, jump, see 3D movies, play interactive games and all with a learning experience, I am happy!
Because I have a short span of tolerance when it comes to kids hogging up the fun I was limited to trying all exhibits. I’ll highlight a few thing. Walking the beam (skyscraper exhibit) was pretty neat, the infinity stairs was cool, the motorized rock climbing was fun, and the touch tunnel (pitch black inside) was exhilarating!
It was a fun birthday gift, I got in for free ! =)

*the free lightning show was educational and awesome. It felt like I was in a classroom and a mini show at the same time. The headphones were a bit old and hurt my big ears/​head, but I’m glad they were provided to shield our ears from noise damage.
*exhibits are definitely kid-​friendly and most of everything is hands-​on experiments.
*I personally had a blast trying to dig up soil from the crane thing. The hurricane room and walking the planks also looked like fun for adults.
*the mini aquariums and animals on the third floor were cool. The lemurs were super cute and curious and not camera shy at all. The huge fish were a bit creepy but very cool to see them in such large sizes!
*food selections in the café was simple but pretty decent. Get the chicken tenders with fries!
*save some time to check out the store on the first floor. There are tons of stuff here and I was immediately drawn to the minerals/​stones. (I scored two heart stones in a green color and a sparkly dark blue color for $ 10.)

The animals are the best part as far as I’m concerned, but all the kids who go here may disagree. Then again, they can play on a lot of the stuff that simply isn’t made for adults of my height. For example, the «how long can you hang from a pull up bar» game didn’t work out too well for me seeing as how my knees hit the platform. Also, I was too tall to do the motorized rock climbing wall.
$ 19.75 for general admission for adults. Tack on an extra $ 6 if you want to see a movie in the iMax theatre. If it’s your birthday, ask for a discount. They may let you in for free. Either way, the $ 19.75 was almost worth it considering you can spend pretty close to a full day here.
$ 7 parking if you park in the lot, but the street is free on weekends. Be careful during the week. I used to live in JC, where the parking authority is about as lenient as a tax collector.
At 2:00 (at least on Sunday) they were doing a live lecture about various animals outside of their cages. That was pretty cool.
Overall, most of the staff is made up of teenage volunteers, all of whom were super friendly, gung-​ho and willing to help, so that added to the enjoyment.

I’m not really sure how to rate something like the LSC. The last time I went here was 12 years ago and I don’t remember much but I do remember it was awesome (probably because I was little). I went without a child this time with another adult. Since we both love puzzles and cool things, it was still fun. I really like the Rubix Cube exhibit! I’ve always been fascinated by Rubix cubes so it was great.
I was a little sad about the touch tunnel though. I remember it being different and bigger.
I probably won’t go back again until I have kids haha.
