Awful service the whole atmosphere in there was unfriendly and the guy who cut my hair cut it 3 – 5 times shorter than I specifically told him, was rough and it was painful when cutting my hair. The guy left me with hair stuck to my face and neck and coated on the back and inside the collar of my t-​shirt because he didn’t brush or blow the hair off before taking the sheet off from around me. To top it he didn’t offer or give me a wipe or tell me I had hair all over my shirt. Definitely do not recommend and I will never ever ever go there again, and that experience cost me £16.

Don’t let the Barbershop exterior fool you, ladies! There is a great blowout bar in the back. No frills and urban. They are make up and extension masters!

I had a great experience at Image First and will definitely be back. I’ve lived in the Heights for about two years and hadn’t tried any local salons. I either to my hometown Aveda salon or to Mad One Jacks in Hoboken which was great but really pricey.
Yeimy (the owner — pronounced Jaimee for all the other non-​native Spanish speakers) did a great job with my full head of highlights and a face frame. It looks as good as what I’ve gotten done at much more expensive places. Price was great and place has a very positive, high-​energy atmosphere.
Don’t get me wrong — this is definitely not the type of place where you will be offered a latte when you come in, but I hate that shit anyway.
I don’t know what the other reviewer is saying — I guess it used to be a barbershop and now the atmosphere has changed — but I definitely recommend. I’m gonna make my husband start going here too.
