Fairview Commons is known now as Citiview Management. I wish there were less stars than 1, I’ve been living in this building for couple of years and boy where can I start, the management company actually sucks, they never clean the building, it always smells, washers and driers in the laundry room never work properly, they are super cheap and they tend to close the heat in the winter specially at night, last winter I had ice on the kitchen window from the inside. They claim that the heat is controlled by sensors that measure the temp inside the building. that’s BS. I had to file a complaint in the city to actually get them to fix it. This summer whenever I turn on one AC and I’ve the TV on I’d lose power, not only me but others too. I have to go down to the basement and put the switch back to work again.
I was travelling last winter to CA and I went back to find all the bathroom ceiling in the tub! I called the maintenance guy and he told me that we knew about the problem but you weren’t there so we can’t get in. Again that’s BS, they have the keys and they access the unit in case of emergency.
Also last winter the kitchen sink got clogged that all the dirty water came out of it and got down in the cabin and drawers. I had to throw away everything in them. When maintenance guys came to fix they opened the kitchen window and the mesh and for my luck 2 days later I found a rat in the apartment!
I called them and they send a guy which did nothing but having some glues in the apartment. I asked him if there’s more effective ways to do and he said yes but my management company won’t pay for it. I knew that I wouldn’t get much so I went to Home Depot and bought couple of traps and electric traps. The problem is that I had to travel in a week for 3 weeks. I was afraid that the traps will catch the rat when I’m away and that it would decompose because it was hot. I called the management and told them to get into the apartment when I’m away to check the traps and she confirmed that they would do that.
Lucky me one of the electric traps that I bought caught the rat the day I’m travelling. It was weekend so management is closed and I didn’t have the chance to tell them that I got it. I traveled and went back to find out that no one came to the apartment to check anything. One week later the maintenance guy called me to ask for my permission to get into the apartment to check for the rat! I was like what?
And all other stories by other reviewers about the elevator is true, it rarely work
Bottom line is: THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT TENANTS.

I’ve been living in this building for 6 weeks so far. The apartment is nice but the building is really badly maintained. When I got the place, the broker (Delia) told me that it’s an elevator building with laundry on site. What I slowly discovered is that yes, the building has an elevator but it’s pretty unreliable and dangerous and the laundry machines don’t really work.
When I first moved here I was very surprised when I noticed that unlike all other buildings I lived in before, the laundry room is almost always empty, but after using it, not once but twice, I understood why most tenants don’t go there. The driers don’t really work and you have to put the load in at least twice (if you have towels then at least three times). After the second time I vowed not to use it again. Instead I do drop off at a nearby laundromat. Who would have thought that drop off is almost as, if not less, expensive than a basement laundry room!
Anyways, my biggest problem is the elevator of the building (the second amenity I was supposed to be currently enjoying). While I was still moving my things to the apartment, the elevator door on my floor would not open! I had to call the super to fix it, it was «fixed» a day later. Then my friend got stuck for a minute in it one time and he had to hit the inside doors hard with his shoulders to get out.
Finally, last weekend I got stuck inside it for 25 minutes late at night, it was a horrible and stressful experience and I had to call 911 to get the fire department to get me out. I contacted the broker to get the management office’s contact info (the lease only has one address to use to send checks, that’s it, no email and no phone number in case of problems) she gave me one number that no one picked up and I left a voice message. It has been a week now and no one has gotten back to me. I emailed the broker again telling her what exactly happened, that it is unacceptable and that I need another phone number and/​or the company email (I couldn’t find any information about the company online), but she ignored my email, no response so far. I guess once the broker rents you a place and gets their commission they can’t care less.
When I told the super what happened his only offer of help was to tell me what button to press if I get stuck again! Who wants to know that one could get stuck again in an elevator! It’s pretty erratic (not to mention that it stinks like hell, there is some weird open pipe in it!) and I already called the city to send an inspector since it seems that the landlord is not going to do anything until someone gets injured inside it.
Like I said, the apartment is fine but the building is really badly maintained (I have a lot more stories about the place and it has only been 6 weeks) and the landlord is really not responsive.
