zero stars all the way!!! there were bed bugs in this hotel! i actually saw the bed bug with my own eyes crawling on the bed!!! my arm is filled with bite marks from it!!! i am so disgusted & cant believe this hotel is still in business!!! customer service is so horrible!!! karma works in wonderful ways!

It was not a bad experience at all! I ended up booking this hotel because it was my last and only choice, and after reading the reviews I was terrified, so I prepared myself for the worst ! I went and bought bug killer and disinfecting Clorox wipes before I checked in. We got in our room, nothing looked brand new, but it was very clean. It didn’t smell bad either. We checked the mattresses for any sign of bugs and they looked like new, sheets weren’t new but clean. Not fabric softener clean for sure, but at least they were washed. Towels ok, overall, the hotel is not bad for the $ 135 per night that includes parking and breakfast.

Well I have to agree with EVERYONE on here that was kind enough to leave a review. This was to be my first Valentines day weekend ever with my fiancé. That did not turn out well at all. Upon arriving we walked into the lobby and it smelled like old wet carpet had been left in the lobby for years, the smell just got worse and worse and never got better. We went into our room and found the room freezing. To start the window was broken and it simply would not close, the heater did not work, the room was not in any condition for us to stay for the evening. We called the front desk they came up inspected the window and tried to act as if the window was working and the heat was working as well. Now I found this insulting because you could clearly feel COLD air coming in and NO heat coming through the heater. We ended up going to another room. This room smelled WORSE and the bed was DISGUSTING it was a velvet round bed that had white stains all over it (DON’T EVEN WANT TO THINK WHAT IT MAY HAVE BEEN). My fiancé upon inspection found a bug in the bed. It was a bed bug and the owner stated «It is a bug but not a bed bug»…REALLY???
I AM TIRED OF EVEN TALKING ABOUT THIS PLACE. SKIP THIS SPOT DO NOT STAY HERE. I DO NOT CARE HOW CHEAP IT IS.
Relaxing and be safe and CLEAN is worth paying more for.
I usually never leave reviews unless I am extremely disappointed and this really did it for me it just made me rethink the phrase «You get what you pay for».

FULL OF BED BUGS, COMPLETELY DISGUSTING!!!
I was bit by bed bums in this hotel this past Halloween and now have to worry about potentially having brought those bed bugs into my home not to mention that for the next couple of days i can’t even wear anything but long sleeves because my arms are covered in bright red bumps. Oh and being itchy all day is tons of fun too…
This isn’t a $ 60 motel, it costs over $ 120 a night to stay here, if i wanted to be in this type of filth I would’ve just slept under a bridge!
I don’t know what’s more disgusting, the fact that there’s bed bugs here or the fact that the Hotel Manager seems to not care that this hotel poses a health hazard! You would think that people would at least be a bit apologetic and be more than willing to provide a refund considering this is their Hotel’s reputation that is on the line. One thing is a hotel being smelly, uncomfortable or whatever else but another thing is it being infested with bed bugs and its guests having to be victims of this. When are people going to start to take responsibility for their negligence? These people are just asking for a law suit.
I called the Hudson County Health Department who will be investigation the issue, these people will get what they deserve…

I can only echo what Maria Q. said — I stayed a couple of nights later and had to deal with this POS business owner while trying to get a refund. NEVER STAY HERE
My girlfriend and I stayed on Halloween night into Nov 1^st. We paid over $ 115 (booked through Orbitz) for what’s supposed to be a quality hotel room and were left in a room that smelled like cigarettes and marijuana — that should have been our first sign. But it was late at night and we were very exhausted.
We wake up and check out from the hotel where I mention the smell but nothing can be done at that point. It wasn’t until a few hours later that she and I start to feel itchy. That’s when we notice bite and bump marks on our bodies that match bed bug bites. Apparently, this isn’t the first time that this hotel has had this issue and I wish that we had seen the reviews.
Additionally, the hotel manager, after speaking to him on the phone, was extremely rude to me stating that I didn’t mention the itching to him immediately (1 — he wasn’t there when we checked out. 2 — the itching happened later on — note that the California Department of Health Vector-​Borne Disease Section says that a bed bug bite may not show for up to 14 days!). He then proceeded to yell at me stating that I did not pay him directly and as such I couldn’t get a refund. I had to get the refund from Orbitz. I had already spoken to Orbitz before calling him and they told me that he wouldn’t authorize a refund because I didn’t speak to him directly and anything that happens between him and Orbitz regarding my stay is none of my business. Rudest man I’ve ever spoken to.
NEVER STAY HERE. I’m also contacting the BBB about this dump of a hotel.

I honestly wish I could give this «hotel» zero stars. My friends and I are volunteering in Manhattan this weekend. Since we’re in college we were looking for a reasonably priced room for 4 of us when we came across this Econo Lodge for $ 100 a night right outside New York City via
. After a seven hour work day, and having been up traveling from Philadelphia at 4am, all we wanted to do was relax for an hour at the hotel, drop our belongings off, and go back to the city for a night out.
As we approached the hotel, the sign looked dingy and worn, like it has not been maintained in years. As we walked in, we were greeted with the smell of cigarettes, wet dog, and what seemed to be bodily odor. Not only that, but a dog was barking from what seemed to be behind the bullet proof glass of the front desk. We checked in and quickly went to our room on the second floor.
On our way up the steps we noticed the complimentary breakfast area (at 3:45pm) was still dirty and covered in crumbs and spills. Furthermore, the putrid smells intensified as we made our way up the steps.
We entered our «non-​smoking» room which actually smelled like someone has just been in there smoking a cigarette 5 minutes prior to our arrival. My one friend went to the bathroom and then our toilet literally ran until we left the room.
Entering this disgusting establishment we decided to change our reservations because there was no way we were staying there. I called Kayak to cancel our next night’s reservation for free but we decided to take that money’s loss and pay for that night we already stayed.
When we went to the front desk to check out, I kindly wanted to leave without the owner knowing my disgust and said I simply had an emergency and couldn’t stay. Instead of just agreeing to let me leave, he decided to argue, literally screaming at me that Kayak told him I was dissatisfied with my room and that it was ridiculous that I said so. At which point I was not about to argue with a man twice my age so I said okay, I’m sorry, we’re paying you for tonight so goodbye. And I left the key there.
I have never been treated in such a way in my whole entire life. That hotel is absolutely disgusting and guests should not be greeted with odors that make them nauseas, especially paying over $ 100 a night. I HIGHLY do not recommend this hotel.

Crack whore and all. This place is like a venus fly trap/​black hole for broke bands. I didn’t stick around to find out all the sad sorry details.
Avoid this place like the plague and I don’t mean that as a euphemism.

When you make your way through a dark, concrete parking area into a lobby where you are greeted by a front desk enclosed in bullet proof glass and a crack whore pacing in the lobby then you know right away that you’re going to regret your reservation.
I booked rooms here only because Comfort Suites down the road had higher rates than usual that week and Econo Lodge was dirt cheap. Traveling with a broke band, we needed to conserve every cent we could, so Econo Lodge it was. Having been impressed by the Comfort Suites I assumed this place would be okay. They were on the same street and both operated by Choice Hotels, but instead of a friendly staff and a clean room (is that too much to ask) we had smelly rooms with peeling wallpaper, stained linens and filthy looking showers. Despite the bargain price tag, a fear of hepatitis is never worth a cheap place to rest your head.
Stay away. There’s a ton of other places around.
