We had a great first visit this morning. My Yorkie was in and out in less than two hours and the groomer and staff were all very pleasant. We will be back!

The customer service, doggie care, friendliness and professionalism cannot be beat. It was my puppy’s first grooming and my only gripe is that I have not be able to book a follow up because they are always booked.

Extraordinary!!! They are very caring, and treat your pet like royalty! I felt very comfortable leaving my little baby in their hands, and they were very courteous and kind to me. My little baby looks amazing! I highly recommend bring your pet.

Couldnt ask for more. They took care of my havanese puppy so much. Staff are very friendly and professional. Higly recommended and would bring my dog for grooming here everytime, dont have to think twice.

Great place! Took my pitbull/​lab mix for a bath/​nail clipping to Woodys and she loved it. She left their establishment smiling. Very professional and timely. Made my appointment for 3pm. They gave me a call to let me know I can come at an earlier time if I wanted. Grooming only took 30 mins. My dog left smelling and looking amazing. Silky smooth !

My 2 pups love Downtown Woody’s and we have been going there since I adopted my first pup Bentley almost 2 years ago. When I first dropped him off, I was nervous for my little guy since he was still adjusting to his new life and is very anxious to begin with, so midway through Larissa, the owner calls me to assure me that Bentley was doing well and enjoying his massage after his bath. Wow! Can I get treatment like that when I go to the salon?! We love it there! and our pups come out looking so fresh and so clean everytime! Larissa and her team know exactly what they’re doing and are the absolute best! My pups are happy to go there too!

The entire experience was awesome. My dog has really bad anxiety and doesn’t usually feel comfortable around people he doesn’t know. The workers there came and played with him to allow him to warm up to them and treated him with such great care. He looked amazing afterwards and was even wagging his tail because he wasn’t scared. Great service and Apollo will be back soon.

Larissa is amazing at what she does. We went to a dog trainer when we first got our puppy Winnie, and she was the one who recommended Larissa to us. Winnie was nervous for her first time ever at at a groomer. Larissa worked with her and even had her come in one day just to get used to the noises of the trimmer and dryer. Now anytime we walk buy Winnie wants to run in just to say hi to Larissa, and the cuts are always beautiful. Can’t recommend her enough!

Not only do all the lovely people at Downtown Woody’s Grooming Salon give BEAUTIFUL grooming on my precious Shih Tzu… they are so loving to all the animals they groom. They make you feel like your pet is the only one there. I can’t say enough good things… I just love bringing my dog there and I don’t even live in Jersey City!

I am one for supporting local businesses and I must say Downtown Woody’s is the best spot I ever been to. Ever since I took my Chewbacca one time to Petco he hates getting baths and haircuts. However, he loved Larissa. He usually hides and doesn’t want to talk about it when he gets home from getting a cut, but when we came back home he’s his normal self after going on a car ride. He is oozing of happiness and smells awesome (he decided to play in a puddle the night before :/​) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Downtown Woody’s. Thank you Larissa for such an awesome job and caring for my puppy like he’s your own :)

Okay! Where to begin with this place– I really just wish they would also work on humans because I would be in there getting services every week! The most friendliest people I have ever met, immediately when I walked in I felt a good vibe. They were super friendly took their time taking my dog (Molly) in, trying to make friends first with Molly. They didn’t rush me, asking me questions and answering mine! My dogs are extremely Important to me and I felt comfortable leaving Molly there for grooming. Excellent service! I’m definitely a fan, and a regular! A must try.

I brought my four month old puppy here for his first cut in November. They took excellent care of my terrified Maltese/​Pekingese /​Poodle mix aka little mutt! I was terrified particular given that Barkley is afraid his own shadow. They did an excellent job and Barkley was so happy when I picked him up. We’ll be back this month.

Not only are they lovely and kind, they treat my Lola like royalty!
They return her to me all trimmed and clean and happy and always with a new accesory!
I am most definitly a client.

A very relaxed and quiet grooming salon. Owner is a natural with dogs as well as her assistant. My Yorkies got a cute haircut (there’s been many of other salons that make them look like rats).

Just want to thank everyone at DTW. They took good care of my Gunnar boy. It’s been so hot that I thought it wood be a great idea to give him a summer cut. Well he really loves it and is very comfortable. Thanks again.

As a first time pet owner of a wonderful little boy who I recently adopted at LHS, I’m not always 100% sure on certain things.
Like would he be okay to be left with a groomer for a couple hours? He’s adopted. What if he bites the groomer? Not that he’s shown any type of aggression toward ppl, but he’s new to me, so It could happen.
After intense research (thank you Unilocal!) I found DTWG. The reviews were fantastic! & it’s a new independent business owner in JC — sounds like a winner to me!
Once I entered the shop & was greeted by the owner, I knew I made an excellent choice!
She was friendly, warm & so excited to meet a new friend, which put all my concerns at ease. She went over the service I requested & told me he would be in good hands.
When we arrived to pick Tommy up, he was happy & looking like a whole bunch of cuteness! I was in aww of what a great job she did! & she had nothing but wonderful things to say about my pooch, which I loved every moment of it! We both left very happy with her service & happy we found a permanent groomer.
I’ve been back for a second visit & still a happy satisfied customer. Highly recommend DTWG!

This is the only groomer you should be using in the tri-​state area. We live in Brooklyn and still take our dog to Larissa because she is such a wonderful groomer. She does an amazing job– Maple always looks awesome when she comes home, A+ on bath, haircut and nails. She smells great and whatever Larissa uses is mild and doesn’t smell too perfumey and nauseating like at other groomers.
Most important is the loving care we know Maple gets while she is there. We’ve seen Larissa interact with lots of pets besides our own, and she approaches each one with the same genuine love and patience. This really puts Maple at ease. Most pets don’t like being groomed but it makes a big difference that they are comfortable with their groomer and excited to see them.
I love the attention to detail, Maple always comes home with a cute and unique accessory. Once it was a purple feather in her hair and another time a bandanna with ice cream sandwiches on it. All around, Larissa is the best groomer in town. HIGHLY recommended!

Both my pup and I have had the pleasure of working with Larissa for the past few years, and I am so happy she opened up her own shop. What a great addition to Jersey City. My toy poodle loves Larissa and anyone can tell that she is truly an animal lover. When you drop off your little four-​legged friend off with her, expect to get a more glorified version of him/​her back! It’s like giving your grimy diamond ring to the jeweler to clean professionally in their steam machine, it comes out SPARKLING.
Larissa’s work is consistent, unlike some other groomers in the area I’ve been to. Her shop is adorable and clean. You won’t be disappointed.
