Specialties

The Sinclair Inn is a six-room B & B (Bed & Breakfast) located in Jericho, Vermont, which is just outside of Burlington and close to the summer/winter resorts of Smuggler’s Notch and Stowe. We offer lodging accommodations at reasonable rates, which includes a wonderful, full breakfast and complimentary beverages and baked treats.

History

Established in 1985.

Our Queen Anne Victorian inn was built in 1895 by Edward Sinclair, a wood craftsman and building contractor, for his bride-to-be, Ruth, and it is one of several Victorian period homes Edward built. Ruth and Edward enjoyed the privacy of their residence with their young daughter until nearly the turn of century when a nearby small hotel burned down, after which the Sinclairs chose to open their home to weary travelers. In 1933, the house returned to being their private residence and in 1957 it was sold to a couple that opened «Rest Haven», a retirement home for ladies. The home was then sold to Jane and Scott Smith in the late 1980s who converted it into a B & B after extensive restoration and renovation on the property. We (Tom & Dan) are the current inn keepers of this beautiful historic building as of August 2013.

Meet the Business Owner

Dan and Tom M.

Business Owner

Having grown up in the restaurant business, it was a lifelong goal of Dan’s to own a business in the hospitality industry. After many years in the «corporate world» of the San Francisco Bay Area — Tom in human resources and Dan in information technology — we decided to make the dream a reality and searched for a B and B in Vermont and found the Sinclair Inn. We left our jobs, sold the house in California, and moved across country with our family to take ownership of the B and B in August of 2013. Here we are and very much enjoying the surroundings of the Green Mountains and this beautiful house/inn.
