Mac Swiney Club

Gotta love the Mac club. Incredible bands and prices that can’t be beat!

1^st to review the Mac Swiney Club. My guess is that most of the regulars don’t own computers; which is part of its charm.
Its an old house that at some point, probably in the 1930s, was turned into an Private Irish Drinkers Club. Tons of IRA memorabilia. There’s a mini Irish museum upstairs. I’ve been told its members only but have never been asked for proof of membership. The staff has told me the memberships cost $ 5, $ 15 and $ 50. I think they’re actually free. They have an after hours license that comes in handy because the 4 guys who are always there are probably homeless. They also allow smoking.
Saw a local band there on 1÷10÷09 and it was a blast. Lots of local jtown people, lots of drinking and lots of bad dancing to great live music.
The bar tender was between the ages of 12 and 14. Must be a member of the family that owns it.
Very unique place and worth going in.
