This 1836 National Register home Bed and Breakfast is conveniently located within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the Ohio River. The Falls of the Ohio fossil beds are a short drive from the Inn along the river, as well as the Howard Steamboat Museum. Louisville, Kentucky is just minutes away from the inn as well as Churchill Downs, Kentucky Derby Museum, Papa John’s Stadium, the University of Louisville, and Slugger Museum,

Seconds to Louisville, Kentucky, this neo-​classical was built by a prominent Jeffersonville family in 1836. The entire house, which has a fireplace in the parlor, is decorated with antiques and features five beautiful bedrooms, all with private baths and fireplaces, which can accommodate up to 18 people. Among the many amenities you will enjoy are a full breakfast and complimentary beverages. The inn is named for the old Big Four Railroad bridge which can be seen from the inn, spans the river and is know locally as the bridge that goes nowhere.

History

Established in 1990.

We bought this beautiful historic home just to have a bed and breakfast. Renovations have been ongoing since the purchase in 1998, we opened on April fool’s day in 1990 with just two rooms. 10 years later we are fully expanded to 4 rooms and one suite. This is a wonderful lifestyle made great by the folks who come to stay here. We’ve had guests from from all the globe including Holland, South Africa, and Japan.

A University of Louisville grad who attended Louisville Male High School when it was still at Brook and Breckenridge streets, I love old houses since I grew up in Old Louisville.

Other interests are gardening and animal rescue.
