History

Established in 2007.

Prior to opening Newell Orthodontics in the spring of 2007, Dr. Newell practiced orthodontics for three years with Drs. Waugh & Allen in their Athens, Watkinsville, and Winder locations. He is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists and the Georgia Association of Orthodontists, where he served as President from 2014 – 15.

Business Owner

Dr. William R. Newell is a Board-​Certified Orthodontist. He opened Newell Orthodontics in Jefferson, GA in March 2007 and in Watkinsville in January 2016. Dr. Newell is a graduate of Georgia Tech, the Medical College School of Dentistry where he graduated at the top of his class and the Orthodontic Residency Program at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Newell and his team love their patients and community, and they are proud to support their local schools and organizations by sponsoring and volunteering at many events throughout the year.
