Specialties

The «Azalea Inn» is a Stick Eastlake home built in 1873. Located at 203 E. Dixon St. in the Historic District of Jefferson Texas, it is now a Bed and Breakfast that features the gingerbread trim of the Eastlake style. In 2007 the Azalea Inn underwent a complete renovation featuring new paint (6 vibrant colors) and a new roof. The gardens have been awarded «Garden of the Month» and were selected to be on the 2008 Pilgrimage garden tour. We have ample off street parking and a patio area just for you to enjoy.

History

Established in 2002.

John F. Dickson moved to Marshall Texas in 1869 to take charge of the Southern Pacific Railroad and built this fabulous home in 1873, a prosperous time in East Texas where elegant parties in fine homes were popular. Today, the Azalea Inn is one of the city’s finest and most elegant bed and breakfast inns.

This Inn is located in the historic District, one of Jefferson’s most charming addresses. The Inn is within walking distance to shops, antique stores, museum houses, beautiful old churches and Jefferson’s finest restaurants.

The Azalea Inn consists of 3 rooms in the «Main House» of which 2 overlook the courtyard. Each guestroom is tastefully & uniquely furnished with period furnishings and modern amenities. Each has a private bath with shower.

Meet the Business Owner

Valerie A.

Business Owner

Valerie and I came to Jefferson Texas on our honeymoon and fell in love with this historic and romantic town. Another trip to Jefferson on a Valentine weekend sealed our fate. While we drove through the historic district looking at all the wonderful homes and unique styles of architecture, a FOR SALE sign on the Azalea Inn caught our eye. We kidded each other during the next few days that we should pull up roots and move to Jefferson. One thing led to another and here we are, the proud owners of the Azalea Inn.
