Delicious authentic Italian dishes, every bit as good if not better than the pricey locations in Pittsburgh. I had a creamy spicy sauce and it was heavenly. My husband had white clam sauce also very well done. The bread they get locally and it’s pillowy soft inside. Salad bar had everything I needed and two fabulous soups. Service was great and the chef was attentive, made you feel like you were having lunch at his home. I loved it. We will definitely be back.

Great menu options, portions, specials and authentic Italian dishes. I cannot stress enough about the personalized dining experience you will receive. Mauro’s caters to their customers as if you were dining inside their home. The atmosphere is fun and inviting. Mauro’s trumps when opting to eat at any of the other chain restaurants. Great pizza and homemade soups.

Atmosphere typical for an older-style Italian place. Pretty dated… dimming the lights for dinner service would make a world of improvement in my opinion. Service was thorough and prompt, but Waitstaff sits in a semi-conspicuous area to chat and text on their phones which does take away from the dining out experience. The food? It’s great. Exactly what you’re hoping for when you dine at a local Italian restaurant. The marinara sauce that came with our appetizers was fabulous. Normally I’m not blown away by a marinara but this one has incredible depth of flavor and a nice savory zing that usually is the result of a nice, long slow simmer. Not spicy… but not sweet. Dinner entrees were on point. Fantastic vodka cream sauce. Angel hair aglio olio was a side for one of our entrees and while I wasn’t expecting much, I was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful it was. I’m saddened to see how empty the restaurant was on a Friday night, knowing that other locals were most likely lined up and willing to wait and hour plus for a table at a national chain restaurant like the Olive Garden. So goes the story for local family-owned restaurants, and it’s a shame. Say no to chains! We all know what OG and Texas Roadhouse has to offer… how about try some true Italian food and support a local family? The food is hands down superior to any mass-produced chain restaurant’s, and if they could fill this place up and stay busy, they could afford some upgrades and their waitstaff wouldn’t seem so bored.

Was trying to find an Italian restaurant so my partner could«carb up» in preparation for an 11 mile run the next day. Saw that this place had really good reviews so I figured we should give it a shot. It was a halfway point for both of us since we live about 2 hours apart. Menu was decent sized with a ton of options that sounded delicious. We settled on Chicken Parm, Ravioli and Stuffed Banana Peppers for an appetizer. The food tasted amazing. Piping hot, fresh and just all around delicious! The server was so pleasant. Just a word of caution, the pasta entrees come with soup/salad bar, so be wise when ordering and don’t stuff yourself which is exactly what we did! Will definitely be returning!

This is the best Italian in town. Do yourself a favor and order the gnocchi with peppers sausage you will not be disappointed. The lounge is a great place to have a drink and an appetizer. Tell Mauro Ryan sent you! :)

Well not sure what to say after reading the reviews. looked on Unilocal for something new in Grensburg area. I was so excited to read all the reviews and thought let’s try this place. It must be a hidden treasure. I am without words… Hubby got Alfredo 18.99 I think someone opened a gallon can and just poured it on. Salad bar wilted salad. We should have taken a hint for Saturday we were the only ones there. I am so disappointed.

Whenever I go home to visit family, Mauro’s is where we go out to eat. The salad bar addition is marvelous. Italian wedding soup is marvelous. Everything is just marvelous. I sorta wish I was at Mauro’s right now but it is Sunday so they would be closed. I could go for some of Mauro’s chicken marsala right now. Mauro’s has excellent service, the waitresses will treat you like you’re their niece, and there is a strong possibility that Mauro may check on you himself to make sure your food was perfect. I can’t say enough good things about Mauro’s Ristorante. Just walking in the building makes me happy because of how many special events my family has celebrated here over the years. For a party larger than 8, I would call ahead and have them reserve you a table.

Amazing! Great food, prices, and service. I had the gnocchi and tiramisu. All entrees come with soup and salad bar. The Italian dressing on the salad bar and the wedding soup is amazing.

My husband and I were really looking forward to a great Italian meal, based on the other reviews, and were very disappointed. It all started with me ordering a glass of wine and never received it. I ordered it again, and the waitress said she apologized because she did not know anything about wine and I guess she did not understand what I meant when I asked for a glass of Louis Martini. Having been a waitress, I always had training on the wine and beer lists, so I was a bit surprised that she did not know, but she also did not write it down and just ignored the order. The second thing that really gave us a bad impression was the stale bread. That’s usually one of the best parts of an Italian restaurant. Even if the rest of the food is bad, the bread is usually great, right? WRONG! The final thing that gives this place a poor rating is that my husband ordered a pasta dish with added chicken and he never got the chicken! The waitress was new and very VERY nice so I’m not going to give her a hard time. It was also the Friday after New Year’s so maybe we were just there on a bad night. Too bad that first impressions are lasting impressions.

My favorite ristorante! Food is delicious, prices reasonable and staff is very friendly… especially Mauro, the owner. Would recommend the veal sandwich and either the salmon or the gnocchi & sausage for dinner. Had a surprise party there and was very pleased with everything, even my picky friends & relatives were impressed. Try it, you won’t go away hungry.

Do you enjoy Italian? Great Italian cuisine. and you will not leave hungry. Seriously good food, large portions, served by a friendly staff. The owner is the chef… it does not get any better! .

This place is one of those hidden gems that we all like to find. Mauro is really a wonderful cook and is true to his Italian roots. Everything on the menu is very, very good and the portions are huge. The prices are insanely low for what you get in return. He has specials almost every day and often he will venture out of his normal routine and offer baby back ribs as a special. His ribs are better than anything you are going to get at any rib joint in western Pennsylvania. The place is in Jeannette in a nice area. Don’t let folks dissuade you from avoiding this place because of some false reputation attributed to this city. This place stands out for wonderful Italian food that will please any palate and Mauro DeFelice, the owner, is a real character. He’s a great host and quite entertaining. We need more places like this where one can go for great food and reasonable prices. I go to Mauro’s every week and so should you.

This is 100% the best Italian restaurant around. I live in MA and come here every time I visit my grandparents in Greensburg. Their linguine with clam sauce is the best I’ve ever had… and I’ve tried it at many places! Their portions are a great size for the price. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Italian food!

Best Italian food in the area. Especially love the fried zucchini, chicken marsala, veal sandwich, and any of the pasta’s…huge portions. Owner is very friendly and welcoming. Warm atmosphere, delicious food, wonderful service, and good prices. Great place for a private party too.

A couple of months ago, a good friend of mine recommended Mauro’s to me and said it had some of the best italian food in the area. I’ve been back a couple of times now and am consistently impressed. They have a good menu, fair prices and the portions are very large. The atmosphere is very homey. It feels like an old italian restaurant. I had some really unusual clam chowder there; it was different than any I have had before, but it was fantastic.
