Woodbridge Inn

This place used to be one of our favorites but last Friday the chicken and pork was overdone and tough. The chicken could not easily be cut with a knife. Probably because they were cut too thin to hold moisture. My sausage plate was good but portions of cabbage and potatoes were smaller than last time. Sauses and service were good but some meats were disappointing. Return to the old menus and top quality meats and the customers will follow. I miss the specials like beef stroganoff.

This review is based on 2 visits over the past 2 weeks. The food was very good, bordering on excellent. Service was good. I had the 2 different schnitzel dishes and was pleased with both. The spaetzel with cheese appetizer was so-​so. My wife had the wurst sampler and the stroganoff special. We both liked each of them. On our first visit we had the apple streudel dessert and truly enjoyed it. On our return visit we ordered the almond torte but they were out. So we opted for the streudel again. We were very disappointed. The formerly flaky pastry was now soggy. And the flavorful ice cream had a pasty texture.
Finally, our waiter told us of 2 dinner specials. But a nearby waitress was telling her customers of three. Disappointing.
Still, we will gladly come here again.

Another amazing stay at The Woodbridge Inn. This time we brought our two doxies for the weekend. We stayed in the lodge and it was just perfect ! They are pet friendly and walking the dogs is easy as there are little parks very close as well as walking in downtown Jasper. We had an amazing dinner and breakfast this weekend at The Woodbridge Inn. Chef Faye is awesome and Alice was amazing as she served us ! You must try bananas foster ;). So I said a few months ago I wanted to try The Woodbridge Inn all four seasons, this was our 3^rd season and by far the best. Trees are beautiful and nice cool weather ;)

I liked the food even though everything under seasoned. I think the menu choices were great. The service was was very under parr. Constant mistakes. Wine was good though limited. Stayed in the hotel, nightmare. Not nice.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was very quaint and charming. It is exactly what you think of when you pull up to a house that’s been converted into a hotel. We stayed in the main house, and the staff was very pleasant and always accommodating. If you are use to big city hotels this will be a little bit of a shock because it’s a bit dated but like I said it’s still charming. There is a big deck off the second story which let’s you view the beauty of north Georgia. Our room was a little small and we thought we were going to have a queen bed but it was a full size bed. It made for extra snuggling. Overall it was a great stay and we would recommend it. The best part is you are helping a family business when you stay there or eat at their restaurant. We always try to help local places when we can!

Had dinner there last night. Order the prime rib medium rare and got a definite medium. I am not really one to send food back and it was tasty. The only reason they didn’t get a five star is there website had steaks on special that they did not honor for whatever reason. Service was awesome.

My wife and I went here from Atlanta to have a night away from the kids. We spent $ 120 for the night which bought us 3 courses each at the attached restaurant. It was great. The place was super clean, the food was really good, and the town was very quaint. I’d recommend it to anyone.

Das Ist Gud! Have had two meals here and it’s been great! Clam bake with peach and pecan stuffed pork chop, shrimp, clams, tilapia and potatoes! Yum! The house dressing is great. I’m also staying at the Inn so review is forthcoming.
Restaurant is very affordable and staff is extremely accommodating.

We went to the Woodbridge Inn restaurant this past Saturday with a group of 7 people. We were so excited since we had heard so many good things about this place but in the end the meal and the staff were just awful. Here was our experience:
We waited forever for someone to get our drink order and they said they would return with more menus (they only gave us 2) but they never did and just told us to share menus after waiting 15 minutes. The restaurant had many empty tables, it made no sense that there weren’t any menus for our table. We ordered our food but when it came out, some parts were cold while like the ginger carrots and cabbage and the meat was lukewarm at best. One person in our group had the pork loin and he didn’t even eat it, I tried some of his myself and it was overcooked, dry, and tasteless. I had the Champignon Schnitzel and it was TERRIBLE (also overcooked, dry, and tasteless). Not to mention, they ran out of spatzle and didn’t tell us until 30 minutes after we ordered. For as many people working and not that many customers, it was disappointing that I had to hunt a waitress down for us to order and also for drink refills. I told my waitress that our food was cold and not very good, all she said was sorry and that she would tell the Chef. The only decent part of our meal was the salad, I did enjoy that.
Overall. the Woodbridge Inn restaurant is disorganized and just TERRIBLE. I’ve received better service at fast food chains with better food. One of the worst restaurants I have ever been to and given the hype, I felt I needed to write a review so other people wouldn’t waste their time and money on a place that had both terrible food and terrible service. After we left Woodbridge, we immediately went somewhere else to get a good and decent meal.

This is the cute (and, really, only) little inn/​hotel in little downtown Jasper!
It is just what you’d imagine when you think of a house turned hotel and restaurant, complete with friendly staff who check you in from the same «desk» where they will seat you for dining at breakfast, lunch and/​or dinner. There is a parlor off to your left when you enter from the lovely (and tidy! Must be the German influence!) front porch complete with a chalkboard sign with pretty handwriting that welcomes you graciously, with a few tables and a little fireplace, while the main dining area is off to the right.
Yes, you get one of those old school keys– theirs are green with the number of your room (ours was 3, the only thing emblazoned on the tag) with just your room key. You leave your car parked out front (because the handful of rooms are either above the restaurant/​entrance or a stone’s throw across the lot at the two-​story building with the other rooms). There is a lovely space out behind the rooms on the lower level, where we were, with tons of trees (of course!) and some wooden Adirondack-​type chairs and a couple of tables; it was nice to see while we were there, on coming out of our room on a sunny winter morning, and would be pleasant to sit and enjoy in warmer weather.
We got a kick out of the basic TV and (not so great!) cable, and the ongoing adjustment of the heater but it was just — fun and charming. First night in a hotel together, and a bit out of the usual scene for me (he still has a house in Jasper so he’s way more familiar with the area than I am!) and it was just a lovely way to start a fun weekend. I recommend staying here (yes, they do even have a hairdryer and extra pillows) if you visit the area, and since you’re just over a little bridge and a block away from Main St… perfect for enjoying this north GA town!

Food is absolutely AMAZING! I’ve come here numerous of times and it’s highly recommended. Customer service is fabulous and they take great care of you. I lived in Jasper for five years before I moved to Utah, and when I come back for a visit this is ALWAYS the restaurant I go. You won’t be disappointed… come for fabulous meal! :-)

Food was very good. My companion had a hamburger that was amazing. I had the chicken parmesan. It was good, but not great. Ask for some bread. They have a salted butter that is amazing. Homemade mashed potatoes were excellent. Great ambience!

Excellent German Food. We went to the Yahoo Farm Pumpkin Patch in Jasper on Saturday afternoon with the grandkids and their parents and when we were finished, we all looked for a nice restaurant to have dinner. Discovered the Woodbridge Inn, which has wonderful German food, Sauerbraten, Wiener Schnitzel, Sausages, and more. Upscale kids menu featured steak.

Could not have asked for anything more!
Quiet, private and peaceful yet close to everything!
Priced right too!

Really poor service. Staff unprofessional, unfriendly, and ungrateful. Won’t go back.

Great Weiner Schnitzel for a Sunday luncheon. The new chef is doing an excellent job. This was a meal that was easily worth double the $ 12 that the Woodbridge Inn charges.
The restaurant itself is located in a charming room with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The staff was very attentive and always make sure that we had what we wanted. In addition to an excellent entrée, both the salad and the desserts that came with the meal were also great.
If you’re ever visiting Jasper, I would highly recommend a stop at the Woodbridge Inn.

Originally I thought driving all the way to Jasper for dinner was a bit much. However after tasting the food at the Woodbridge Inn Restaurant, I was very suprised. I had the crabcakes as an appetizer. The only complaint was that I wished they were bigger! The salad was fresh and the dressing was placed on the side. Since i’m not a big fan of soaked lettuce, that was a plus. The service to get our dinner (we were a party of 7) did take a bit, but when the food did arrive, there were no complaints. My husband ordered the salmon and I ordered the steak and we both were very happy. Finally dessert. The banana’s foster was made right at the table and perfect. What a nice place. It was cozy, unpretentious and a pleasant surprise. We will definitely return!

We ate here this past Saturday, it was our wedding anniversary, and this was our second time dining here in the last six months. The first time we ate here the food was just middle of the road and not worth the price. My wife had the weinerschnitzel and I had the trout. Her food was very dry and not hot when served. My food was small in portion and also very dry. The salads we had were soaked with so much dressing (vinegar and oil) that it was really obscene. We skipped dessert. The second time we ate there was at my wife’s request, because we live close by and the ambiance of the place would be nice for an anniversary dinner. This time she ordered the veal oscar and I ordered the steak special — a steak with ramps and ramp cream sauce. I like onions so that would perfect for me. For an appetizer I ordered oysters on the half shell and she ordered oysters rockefeller. My oysters were superb, very fresh and cold and shucked the way they are suppose to be. Her oysters were also very good and we thought this was going to be a real change from the last time we dined here. We ordered salads too, hers a ceasar and mine a mixed green with hearts of palm and artichokes. The salads were awful. Once again mine was loaded with way to much dressing and was almost pure vinegar. Her ceasar had a very peculiar dressing that was not complementing the romaine lettuce. Ive had many ceasar salads in the past and this was no where near a ceasar salad. We did not finish the salads and shades of our last experience were coming back. The main courses arrived after a much to long wait and once again they were both very very dry and luke warm. Mine had absolutely no sauce of any hint of any ramps. The steak was over a piece of dry toast and the veggies on both were carrots and some kind of large tater tots. My wife’s veal had no inkling that it was a veal oscar. No crab meat was in sight. All in all we agreed that nothing had changed and we will pass this place by in the future. So if you like high priced, very dry, flavorless food with loads of weird salad dressing on your salads then this is your place.

What a great meal! Woodbridge has been redone in the last year under the management of Han’s…what an improvement! The décor is cozy and inviting… we ordered the oysters which were very fresh. The salmon was pink in the middle, not overcooked. It had a delightful salsa of capers, tomatoes, red & green onions… perfect flavors! The menu has some great German items, game, and daily specials… all for very reasonable prices. Jasper is fortunate to this charismatic jem!
