The Clubhouse at Lake Sconti: Mountains Grill and Black Bear Pub

Last weekend we did a little tour of North Georgia and one of our stops was at Big Canoe, the sprawling mountain retreat in Jasper, GA. The Mountains Grill and Black Bear Pub are two of the main accommodations for dining and entertaining purposes.
Nice little «mountain» style dining and gathering areas, with the Grill and the Pub separated on either side of the rear of the building, each with the requisite large windows giving great views of the beautiful trees and mountain peaks that fill the Big Canoe property. The Pub is cozy — and gets a regular crowd, who can earn their own numbered stein for use on every visit — and has dining tables as well as small hightops for two or four. C and I just had a snack (really good tortilla chips, btw, and spicy and tomato-​y salsa). I think our favorite part was the shuffleboard table that wasn’t actually working but we played anyway and kept score with each of our blue or red colored discs! It was close most every game and I’ll just let you guess who won more…
This would be a nice place to dine or just relax for a few minutes after a day on the lovely property.
