We came by on a Saturday at 5:00 and not a soul to be seen. We think it may be closed for good. :(

Don’t let the lack of décor/main room scare you away! Delicious pulled pork plate comes with 2 sides. I’d recommend the baked beans. Does not serve alcohol & no byob. Don’t come too early or the ribs won’t be ready yet.

Very, very good! Get the chicken livers, the best I have ever tasted! My friend had the fried chicken and was also impressed. All of the sides were excellent! No complaints on the service. This little, out of the way, restaurant will surprise you. Definitely worth the short ride from the interstate. McElroy’s will be a regular stop for me! GG

If you are in this area and like a classic plate lunch or dinner then go. It’s not that far off interstate 40. The service is great. It has always been the same young woman serving when I go there for lunch on trips back and forth from Nashville to Chattanooga. She is very job oriented and is efficient. I usually have to wait for the fried chicken because they were cooking it right then, so it was not just sitting on a rack for hours. The sides are classic american dining; like green beans, cream corn, potato salad(which is homemade but is not my style of PS). For the meat they have a list like most places that serve meat and 2 – 3 sides; they include BBQ sandwich/plate, fried chicken, meatloaf, pork chops, and others I forget right now. The cook was an older woman who seems to care a lot because it always tastes good. The seating area is very plain and open, but always very clean, and scattered with what I assume are locals(although I did talk to a few people there and they are local and love the place). I will always go back when in the area. It beats a fast food place in every way and is about the same price.
