If you are looking for a place to rent tuxedos that offers both competent and friendly service and quality goods, then you should go somewhere else. A year ago when my husband and I started planning our wedding we went to the Lyons Den on the advice of my cousin. When we walked into the tuxedo rental area we were ignored for almost 5 minutes(yes, there were employees walking right past us) and then told not to waste our time because the books would change in January and we’d have to start over. We live in California and making it to NY is a challenge. In March, I made it back to NY and went in to the Lyons Den to make our selections. I was rudely told that it was prom season and that I should have made arrangements to order our tux’s for the our June wedding earlier. I explained that I tried to do that 6 months ago, but was told the books would change, which they didn’t. After that Kim was pleasant enough and helped me pick out what I wanted. Now comes to the day before the wedding. 4 of our 6 groomsmen had to fly in from out of town so I asked my brothers to pick up everyone’s tuxedos. When the last groomsmen finally made it to town he was checking out his tux and noticed he had the wrong tie and vest. I immediately called the Lyons Den and had the unfortunate pleasure of speaking to Faith. I explained the issue and instead of offering an apology for messing up our order she informed me that this issue could have been avoided if he would have come in try on the tux rather than just having someone pick it up. I explained to her that the issue could have been avoided if the order was done correctly in the first place. After placing me on hold for a few minutes, she got back on the line and stated that the new pieces would be available at the store the next day but we’d have to pick them up after 10:30 am. Thank goodness we didn’t have an afternoon wedding! The following Monday, we went in to return the tuxes and I spoke with Kim about my interaction with Faith. Rather than offering me an apology for the rude service I received she just smiled at me blankly and asked if everything looked nice. Yes, Kim, everything did look nice — no thanks to you — or Faith.
