Hampton Inn & Suites Jamestown

A decent Hampton Inn although not exactly the best for several reasons.
* Unless they offer them in their one or two suites, the hotel does not offer fridges in the rooms like the overwhelming number of Hamptons do at this point. I suppose it’s not a big deal but the no fridge thing is annoying. When I was checking in another guest was mentioning this and the desk staff told her that they’ve never had them and if you need one you’re SOL.
* A lot of Hamptons now offer three hot items in their chafing dishes where as this location is still only offering two. The morning we were there it was some sad ass looking «eggs» and some seriously greasy sausage (blech!).
* The view from our room of the cemetery across the road was well…
* While the hotel has an indoor pool it is microscopic and again, unlike most Hampton locations or even chain locations in general there is no hot tub. Also the hotel has some odd rules about no one being allowed to swim alone or something to that effect. The woman who checked us in tried to explain it to me and my eyes rolled back in my head so I don’t remember the end of what she said.
* Not exactly a lot of things food wise in the nearby area. McD’s is nearly in their parking lot and a Tim Horton’s in right behind the building on a hill plus a Bob Evans across the street but after that the options thin out in a hurry.
Now to counterbalance all of my moaning and groaning. The location on/​off I-​86 is great and if you’re in town for any of the Lucy related sites the hotel is nicely situated at around five minutes away. Also there is ample parking and multiple entrances which made going out to the car super easy.
While the room was clean and the rate was great, there are enough annoying issues that will keep this place’s rating in my book very much in the middle. I stayed at three different Hampton locations three straight nights on the trip I was on and this one was easily a very mediocre number three out of three.

Just about every time I travel, I stay at a Hampton Inn or other Hilton property because I have yet to have a bad experience.
This property was conveniently located just off I-​86 in Jamestown and is just a short drive to the downtown area.
The property from inside and out, top to bottom was clean, including my room. The staff friendly and professional.
Free HBO and a very good channel selection on the television but this room did not have a mini-​fridge and microwave as I usually see when I book a room, however that may be because I was in a room with 2 Queens instead my usual room with 1 King bed.
The bathroom was well equipped with the usual toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soaps), 4 sets of towels and a hair dryer. The closet spacious with an iron and ironing board.
The fitness room has 2 treadmills, and eliptical, a bike machine and dumb-​bell weights to 50 lbs. The pool area looked clean, but I didn’t use it.
They provide free breakfast which includes a hot and cold food buffet and the usual breakfast drinks.
I used the phone app to check-​in which made it a breeze, but I’m normally greeted as a Gold member but the woman must have missed it.
ENTRANCE NOTES…
*** When you come off the exit, onto Main St., you may miss the entrance to the hotel. It looks like it’s the entrance to the Holiday Inn next door, but you can use that entrance. If you go past the gas station/McDonald’s, you can also access the hotel off of Oak Hill Rd, just up Main St., turning right at the Tim Horton’s. This will bring you into the back of the hotel. I recommend using this entrance/​exit when you need to get back onto I-​86. Traffic is sometimes busy to cross over.

I’m a Marriott loyal customer and had to try this Hampton Inn after so many recommendations from peers at work. Well, I will stay with my Marriott standards. Just didn’t meet my expectations.

Hands down one of the BEST hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
The staff was very friendly, especially the lady working the breakfast buffet each morning. She went out of her way to find something my picky 2-​year-​old would eat, even getting things that were not out for service that day.
The hotel itself is beautiful and very clean. Our room was perfect the day of arrival, and when we left our «do not disturb» sign up the second day, clean towels and extra toiletries were left by our door. I really appreciated that we could turn down the daily cleaning and still receive fresh towels.
Our son loved the indoor pool. It was clean and well maintained.
The hotel is also very close to most of the local attractions. We never had to drive far to see anything we wanted to see.
Lastly, and most importantly for me, they had the absolute BEST coffee I’ve ever had at a hotel. Their coffee bar in the lobby is open 24 hours a day and offers tea, decaf, robust, and regular coffee with several creamer and sweetener options. Free coffee that tastes like you paid for it. I’ll take it!!!

This is not only the best hotel in Jamestown, but one of the best Hampton Inn’s I’ve ever stayed in – and I stay in them often. This time, we were stuck a couple of extra days due to the mammoth snowstorm that hit Buffalo and blocked us from being able to get to the Buffalo Airport. The Hampton Inn staff were terrific to us. The rooms have nifty electrical sockets on top of the nightstands and desks — never have seen them before and loved them. Terrific fitness center. WiFi could have been stronger and chairs in lobby and rooms could have been more comfortable.
Thank heavens we were not stuck in the shabby Best Western downtown for this unexpectedly long stay!

If you cant stay on the Lake, then this is probably your best option.
I was travelling on business, so I was able to get the govt/​corporate rate of $ 80 bucks.
Caveat Emptor. The posted rack rate was $ 200! For a Hampton Inn! In rural BFE upstate NY! Who are they kidding? That is ridiculous. I can book a Hampton Inn in midtown Manhattan for a rack rate of $ 219 on a bad day and $ 199 in slow season. Price is way out of whack.
And, I think their vacancy showed it. The hallways were deathly still and parking lot was half empty. My room, fittingly enough, looked out over a cemetary. I watched for zombie movements through most of the evening.
All that being said — room was clean, front desk was welcoming, there were cookies available until almost 9 pm at check in (go to a busier location and those cookies are gone by 545 pm) and things were very quiet.
Room water pressure was very weak… both shower and toliet.

Love this hotel. Would have given 5 stars but check in process was not good at all. Why put a diamond member next to an elevator when clearly my profile says otherwise? Oh well.
Housekeeping was great and Angel was kind enough to bring me a refrigerator for my room without any question. She deserves the 5 stars for truly being outstanding customer service.
Love the popcorn in the evenings.

All in all… this seems like the place to stay when in Jamestown, hands-​down. I was reserved elsewhere and opted to switch last minute, as I was uncomfortable with the OTHER hotel’s location. I looked around a bit and had trouble finding much that didn’t have either some pretty bad reviews or a «meh» appearance. When I read the reviews and saw this hotel, I wasn’t surprised that it was completely booked after seeing some of the other options in the area.
Overall it’s a business trip style hotel. It’s not particularly near anything, and has the exact look/​appearance you’d expect. The room I stayed in was unfortunately a higher priced «Jacuzzi Suite,» which was one of only 2 available rooms left for that night. The word «Suite» was a bit misused, as I’ve stayed in larger non-​suites, but it was well cared for and clean. It could have used a decorator and some more furniture, perhaps a bigger desk, however. It just felt incomplete.
Food — This is probably the place’s biggest drawback. There’s not much in the immediate area (besides an adjacent McD’s), and there’s no hotel restaurant or bar.

Very pleased. I came in wintertime, and the driveway wasn’t plowed very well. I got stuck. They called a tow truck, which they paid for. They comped my room. The place is immaculate. The beds are nice, and they provided clean bedding. Beds are roomy, and the room a spacious for the price. If you need a hotel in Jamestown, this is the place.

Most hotels in Jamestown or Fredonia are out dated and run down. This hotel is the exception. Super clean, modern up dates, free hot breakfast and a truly nice staff. If you need a room in Chautauqua County this is the only place to consider.

I have stayed at Hampton Inn’s before and this one was just ok. I mean it is probably the best hotel in Jamestown, but I had a few issues while there. I’m guessing it was isolated. The shower head in the shower wasn’t attached correctly, causing a pressure issue. The pool was shut down, even though the hotel was full of kids, for a local gymnastics meet and hockey tournament. On a positive note, the staff members were nice.

This is the ONLY hotel we will ever stay at in Jamestown. We have stayed at all of them on various trips to visit family, and this one outshines the rest.
The staff is friendly and quite helpful (even when you are travelling with 2 small children who can be loud), perhaps because they are glad to be working at the best hotel in the area.
Our room was a king suite-​the kitchenette had a bar sink, refrigerator, microwave-​perfect for a family on an extended trip. The bathroom had good water pressure, plenty of thick towels. Bedding was clean and very comfortable. The blackout curtains worked as well.
Breakfast was a good variety of fresh fruit, waffles, cereal, bagels, etc-​something for everyone and not overcrowded. Again, pleasant staff kept everything stocked.
We also used the pool-​which was small and didn’t really have a shallow place for little kids but who cares? It was clean and did the job.
Highly recommend. Don’t waste your money elsewhere in this town.

This is the only hotel I will stay at when I am in Jamestown. The staff is very friendly, breakfast is not bad, but the rooms are much nicer than the Comfort Inn’s across the street.
I get a room facing the highway because there are cemetery’s nearby, and the back of the hotel does face a cemetery. I don’t even think about it when I’m there because I never see it.
