$ 220 per night for a motel room on the side of the road?! When only 2 or 3 other rooms were occupied! With a bathroom the size of a closet? That smelled like it used to be smoking room! And a knock-on-the-door wake up call from maid service at 10 am on a Sunday? And no coffee! They did have a refrigerator.

The Country Inn at Jamesport was a recommendation from a friend that was definitely a good choice. The rooms are spotless. We had a queen sized bed in a room that was perfect for our weekend away. We got a late start the day we were supposed to check in but management called me to confirm we were still arriving– the owner personally waited for us to arrive around 8pm which was gratefully appreciated. The proprietor gave us terrific recommendations from dinner to coffee to places to check out. The Country Inn at Jamesport is walking distance from three vineyards(Paumonak was my favorite by far, taste wise, ¾ of a mile; also Jamesport vineyard and Sherwood house). Yes the room is on the smaller side, so is the bathroom but it is clean!!! You don’t spend a lot of time in the room anyway with so many great places to check out. We definitely recommend the Country Inn!

I was at the Inn for the first time this weekend. Very impressive. Clean and cozy rooms and the entire staff goes out of there way to help you. Jeff is the man to speak with. He has as much charm as the inn itself. I am very picky as to where I place my head.

Very small looks like the bates motel. Room small just like in the movies. But you know what it’s very clean new bathroom, clean bedroom that’s the only room. Not a dump inside these rooms just small. But on a main road close to the wineries. If it’s near where you’re going and the price is right. I recommend it. Don’t judge from outside but don’t expect a big hotel room. free wi fi
