Sylhet Motors

Purchased my first car here with the help of the friendly staff at sylhet motors. The dealership came recommended but I was skeptical simply because of the things you hear about small dealerships (i.e. Con artists). I took everything they said with a grain of salt. Eventually settled on a 2012 VW Jetta. The car had a few previous owners and was involved in a small accident but otherwise was in pretty good shape. The price was competitive, not a mind blowing deal but definitely fair.
Next up, is probably the hardest part of a car buying venture, financing. They came with a preliminary offer of 11% apr. I’m young and don’t have much of a credit history but even then it was a ridiculously high interest rate. They assured me that this was only a preliminary offer and that they would be able to bring it down. I patiently waited the next few days for them to find me a better offer and in the meantime sought out independent quotes myself. Eventually I found a great deal sub-​3% from chase and called the dealership to see if they wanted to match it.
The dealership said that they would try to find something competitive but I would need to CONSIDER extended warranty. I promised to entertain them. The day I was supposed to sign all the papers the interest rate was still higher and I wasn’t too sure about the extended warranty. When I told them that I didn’t want the warranty they said that I might as well go with chase bank. I was a little sour with what I thought was a waste of my time. Had they just said that then I could’ve already been 2 – 3 days ahead in the buying process.
Aside from the financing headaches everything else was great. The car itself was in great shape. I’ve put in 10k miles and aside from minor fixings there has been no major issues.
What I appreciate the most about this dealership was how they are willing to help even after the sale was made. Since I bought the car I had a minor accident where I busted my rear taillight backing up into a pillar. The light needed to be replaced and I contacted the dealership directly. They ordered the part and replaced the part themselves. They make themselves available to their customers and are definitely willing to go the extra mile.
