I rarely go in this place. The clothes are over priced even on sale days. The manager always looks as if she has an attitude. She’s constantly on guard trying to catch someone stealing. That’s pretty funny when its quite obvious she’s the one stealing. I see they have their regular customers whose been frequenting the store for years. You can see they never get their items rung up on the register. This particular store is known for giving out 5 finger discounts to themselves and their customers. One time I asked a cashier where to go so I can apply for a job and she said online. I know that’s not how you get employed by salvation to work in their stores. Now I think she is a nut for lying about something so simple or maybe she didn’t want me to get a job there. Anyway I wish the salvation army would lower their prices. You can get brand new clothes for the prices they charge on USED clothing. The kids clothes are about the only deals you will get and that’s when there is a half off sale. I never donate to them because I don’t like how they will over charge customers for used clothing. There are family shelters in the area I drop items off to and I know they wont sell it. Plus, a lot of the clothes that salvation army doesn’t sell because they don’t have room on the rack… they will pack up and sell to different countries. They have a warehouse in Brooklyn on franklin avenue.

Although a little dark… I liked this place. The staff was Super Friendly. Found a couple of great pieces and will definitely come back.

This place is a joke. Very picky about the furniture they take. Employees have too take pictures on the spot and send them in to get approval to take items. Anything not scheduled online will not be picked up. Better off having a sale or dropping them in the street for people to take. The Salvation Army is not like they used to be.

This actually one of the larger Salvation Armys I’ve visited. Pretty well organized, with a surprisingly excellent book selection. Very easy access and parking too.

This location is small, yet organized. The staff are friendly. The clothing prices are fabulous — .99 cents to $ 19.99 for high end designer labels like St. John, Adam Lippes, Roberto Cavalli, etc. There is no dressing room, but they do have large mirrors in the back(so wear leggins and a tank top when you come to shop and you can try on your selections). Its less than a 5 min walk from the LIRR — Jamaica station. That area of Queens is ugly, but so what! Not a lot of furniture/housewares, but I’ve seen some pretty funky mid-century mod pieces there for sale… and its priced to move! The shoes are gross and the handbags are blah. No price-gouging here! Overall, I love this store, compare the all the bigger thrift stores I go to! I’m a Thrifter-at-Heart. I spend at least 2 hrs in here. I touch EVERYTHING. I spend at least $ 50 each time I go.

Dropping off clothes for donation was a breeze. Person at the counter took it and gave me a receipt for tax purposes. The area is not too great. Car shops surround the store and if you are not familiar with the area you can feel intimidated walking alone. Close to the LIRR station and Sutphin E/J subway. Store is along the side streets along the LIRR tracks. Took a quick browse around the store and they do have brand name clothes and some vintage looking stuff. If that’s you’re style you would have fun browsing the racks. Although the racks are not too organized, it a great location for those who live or work around the area to drop off your gently used items for donation.

Small but well-organized, and sorted by color, which makes things feel less chaotic. Cheaper than most local thrifts, too. Almost entirely clothing. Found a fantastic Izod men’s pullover there for half price — but the tag fell off while I was taking it off the(very full) rack… which meant they couldn’t sell it to me :(Not my first choice. But really nice people, close to the LIRR station, and a five minute walk from The Unique, so worth stopping by for a minute. Wednesday = Family Day.
