Established in 1992.

New Minds Learning Center has been in business for many years. Our humble beginnings kicked off in London, England back in 1992. The company moved to New York in 2000 adapting to the rules and regulations of teaching in the United States. After settling in Jamaica, Queens, New Minds got straight down to work opening its doors to parents who wanted their children to excel in Mathematics and English, the two most important subjects needed to succeed in life.

Meet the Business Owner

Beryl M.

Business Owner

Beryl Muhammad was born and educated in England. She grew up in a strict, disciplined, one parent home in London with her mother who is from Jamaica in the West Indies. It was her father, also from Jamaica in the West Indies, who encouraged her to pursue her dreams of teaching. She returned to being a student, and graduated from the College of North East London with a degree in teaching.

After a lengthy long distance relationship, Beryl made the decision to move to the United States to marry, and continue teaching under the New Minds Learning Center business name. She has been a professional educator for over 15 years. While living and tutoring in the U.S., Beryl has successfully led her students to graduation level incorporating the English language and mathematical concepts.

As well as her teaching degree, Beryl holds a degree in American Sign Language (ASL), and a degree in English Literature and is currently doing a Master’s degree in Education.
