I first have to write a disclaimer before i write this review, this review may be a tad bit biased, and the only reason why it is biased is because this establishment fits the mold of places that i purposely seek out and adore. what is it that i seek out you ask? well this place is a reasonably priced hole in the wall establishment that serves authentic food from the motherland that tastes like someones mother, grandmother or aunt cooked it up and served to their esteemed guest. This places DOESNOT cater to your typical gringo, farang or gwai lo and puts absolutely no effort into seeking out their business either, in fact the sign outside their establishment does not say nayang filipino but instead simple states«asian food» or something of that variety and the customers are all filipino, so expects to receive stares(like i did) if and when you do decide to mosey on into this establishment. anyway onto the food! fillipino food is not for the faint of heart(literally the fat in it will kill you lol) I ordered the Lechon Kawali(pay per pound) and how this establishment works is you get a think of rice and two sides for either 6.25 or 6.50. i ended up getting the lechon paksiw, biscol express, dinuguan aka pigs blood yum! and some sweet and sour beef thing. the lechon kawali was awesome, although not fresh it did have an interesting mix of spices that gave it more kick than your typical pork dishes. my favorites were the lechon paksiw and the biscol express, the sweetness in the paksiw mixed really well with pork belly fat, and the sauce was extremely thick and savory as well. The biscol express was interesting as it was the first time I’ve ever eaten anything like it. It was purple in color, made with pork, fermented shrimp paste, coconut milk and lemon grass, definitely a good combination, but not for an unadventurous eater. the dinuguan was too sour for my liking and the sweet and sour beef was good, but tasted pretty typical. great experience, and I will most likely will be coming back here since it is close by and inexpensive. The Flan here was AMAZING, they order it from another place, but its still good nevertheless. anyway could have done without the food out buffet style(one star less for that) still pretty good though

Filipino Turo-Turo is often disappointing… This was definitely the case here at Nayong Filipino. After a morning of running around with my mom, she started to succumb to the hunger pangs that normally hit around midday. Since she doesnt often get to eat Filipino food, she was excited that I was with her. My Dad is not partial to Filipino food and that means that Mom cosiders this a delicacy and cause for celebration when my sister or I are in town to join in the chow down. Not to be picky or snooty, but I do love Filipino food. I love GREAT Filipino food. Flavorful, comforting… maybe it isnt the healthiest cuisine out there… but when it’s done right, it’s a magical thing. If what you are looking for is GOOD Filipino food… I suggest going to a place that prepares items to order and not«turo turo». Pointing at your food selections based on what«appears» to be the freshest is my least favorite way to dine. The Caldereta was SUPER salty and oily. The Pancit Bihon lacked any real flavor and was definitely missing the«sahog». My mom said that she enjoyed the Pork Sinigang but I thought that it was lacking the robust tart flavors that one normally expects with this popular dish. Yes, the price is cheap… and the desserts are rather yummy. The leche flan saved a star.

i went with my food buddy for lunch one day we had the adobo beef and chicken or pork in shrimp sauce. the food was not too bad but a little on the salty side… humm maybe its the shrimp sauce lol and a little greasier than i thought. But the market next door though small has a good selection. All i can say is that i would give the service a 4 and the hot food a 2. i went there to rent«every breath you take» though they didn’t have it that day, the girl told me that she would call me and hold it for me when it comes back. and guess what? a day later she did and she was so very nice and pleasent. i would definite go there and rent videos and to the grocery store :) what wonderful and friendly people it was awesome.

Woohoo a good cheap Filipino Resturant and grocery store in one. Oh called to find the hours really friendly lady told me and also what some dishes were on menu. I got off bus and walked about 10 minutes in rain up Parson Blvd. I walked past as the only sign was a green one that said Asian Resturant. Now I have pasted this place previous I thought it was just another Chinese joint. I step in the door and the smell reminds me of kitchen in Cavite. The smells just pulled me to the counter. I had some soup while there that was awesome. They had some bird or Thai chilies that just enhanced the flavours. I took my two platters headed back to catch my bus. Omg what a treat I get home ate my food that I will say I was impressed with I had some Bicol express that mad my palate leap as it was like some I hade in Cebu once Kare Kare was just as rich and creamy and the extra gravy was great on my rice. I had some delicious tender BBQ that just melted in my mouth. Eating this food let me know why I love Filipino food. It’s the complexity of the flavours mingling of the spices that just make my palate dance with excitement. I will be back as the food was good and cheap and it was clean. Also note the address may be 8335 for Resturant and 8333 for the lil market

Fast food Filipino food, yes! But their menu is very limited and changes by the day. Their bicol express is the best! Plus, they have small grocery section where I can get my precious coconut water, nagaraya garlic nuts and other Filipino based items

looking for a Filipino-American place to eat? Well, right here in Queens lies a food place where it is really close to your Great Grandma’s cooking. Food is Excellent, I should know since I have been coming to eat here with my son almost everyday(if I am around the New York Area). Cleanliness of the places, the staff do excellent job to collect all the dirty dishes in all the tables, as well as wipe them and making sure that the next person is not going to complaint. The location is very easy to find. Parking is not too bad either, just don’t go there expecting to get your parking on a busy sunday after church times. Trust me, Filipinoes are religious and eat after church. In overall, Its a good place to eat. Want a garlic breath like us Filipinoes have early in the morning back home? Come to Nayong Filipino… lol(thats summing it up in a good way)

I was brought here for breakfast on a weekend by a highschool classmate/friend, where we bought«tapsilog»(tenderized fried beef slices best dipped in white vinegar, garlic & bits of small chili, that serve as toppings on w/fried rice with eggs) to go — it was OK. the serving given me was big. i could see they’re doing good business, particularly with those from the Philippines who are living in the area, based on the number of customers they have that early in the morning. they also have a deli-like space where you can buy some food stuff from the Philippines.
