I would not stay at this hotel again if you paid me. I am a disabled vet and fell out of the bathtub due to no plastic mat to prevent this hurting my spine and tailbone severely. After several emails to the hotel with no response and finally talking to the manager I was basically called a liar. Very poor management. If you do stay here DO AT YOUR OWN RISK! I would not border my dog there

This place has a great lobby… Then you go to your room, they are old and not taken care of well. The beds lack support, the furniture is old and abused. They do not have a parking lot but you can park on the street just make sure you pay attention to the alternate side parking signs.
This is not somewhere I would ever stay again. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Too bad this location is not better taken care of.

Scenario: Me and my friend (21 yrs old, female) check into this hotel around 12:30 AM after getting into a late flight at JFK, we have a room on the first floor. 1:30 AM there is a Hispanic man banging loudly on our door, loud enough to wake us both up. I go to the door and stare out the peep hole and watch as he continues to bang. I ask what he wants and he asks if «I need a roommate,» I ask «what?» Again and he says «never mind, sorry» and walks away, not going to any other rooms.
Next morning: My friend and I have different flights going home to different places. She leaves the room at 5:33 AM and at 5:38 AM there is another knock on my door by an African American man. He continues to knock two more times as I do not say anything and leaves. Again, he does not touch any other rooms except ours. I immediately pack my things and go to meet my friend in the lobby waiting for the shuttle. I felt extremely unsafe. I would rather be at the airport 6 hours early than be at this hotel another minute.
I told the man at the front desk, the same one we checked in with at 12:30 AM and all he says was «I’m sorry, you should have called me, I was right here.» He seemed extremely uninterested as I was on the verge of crying I was so scared. I was not about to call someone who had the potential of giving out my hotel room number to these men and could have a key to my hotel room.
I’ve never been so freaked out in my life and have never felt more unsafe. Do not come here! It was no coincidence that two different men came to our door at strange hours of the night and that they did not go to any other room but ours. Also, it is no coincidence that the second man came right after my friend left and I was alone in the room. Something is up and it seems to be an inside job. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

This hotel should be renamed «Sexual Harassment Inn»! The lobby and hallways were filled with transients that were digging through the trash cans, asking for money and cigarettes, and cat-​calling me to include such terms as «snow bunny» and «boo»… Gross…
This is NOT a legitimate hotel and definitely not safe for women or children.

Awful!!! Our room was smaller than my closet and it sounded like we were in the belly of a cargo ship. Old and dirty. Didn’t even attempt to step in the shower.

Needed a hotel last minute and they were able to help and it was affordable. Was at first skeptical bc of the 2 stars but I thought they were great!!! The guy at the front desk was super helpful.

This place is a dump. Van drivers are are awful with an unreliable van service. The refrigerator they sent to my room had spoiled food in it. Oh and if your looking for safety… you will notice the «security guard» SLEEPING. No restaurant or bar in this hole., not that you would want to eat there.

I’m working in the area & wanted a place close by for 1 night. I was skeptical because of some of the reviews. Well… I’m Happy to report… My experience has been awesome!!! The front desk & the staff were very welcoming.
The entrance is beautiful & clean as is the rest of the hotel. The bed… Very comfortable and… The price is right!!! Will Definitely stay here again

This review is based on a phone conversation when trying to book a room. The receptionist/​front desk lady needs to take a customer service course. She was short with me, not helpful and not at all friendly. It felt like I was bothering her and like she was doing me a favor. I decided not to book with them. Is this is a reflection of the service there, I will go elsewhere.

Horrible. Really horrible.
1. Bedside lights do boy turn off, they flicker and flash.
2. Bathroom fan does not shut off
3. Room thermostat/​fan not working.
4. Bathroom shaving/​makeup mirror broken.
5. Shuttle. Departing flights, upper level, arriving flights, lower level. Is this so tough.

I first got conflicting info about the hotel
Shuttle. I was told to call from baggage claim, then i was told it runs every 30min. After I waited 45 min, I called and then driver tells me you need to call. Ugh. I got to hotel after a very long day. My first thought was it was a halfway house. Front desk couldn’t figure out what room to put me in? Discusting elevator. Room was so hot, 83 degrees and they have NO AC!!! Front desk said they don’t turn it on till Summer??? It’s summer in here!!! The windows would not open. The pillows smelled so bad like smoke. The water presser is non existent. I would have taken a taxi to another hotel if it wasn’t midnight. If you too are contemplating… go to another hotel! The few dollars I

Disgustingly dirty hotel. Foul odor, old misshapen mattresses with stains (I checked). If you’re in an absolute pinch this is ok for 4 hours if you sleep on the floor. Otherwise have some respect for yourself and stay elsewhere.

We stayed a night both ways to catch our flights from JFK to Dublin. The hotel is near the airport and offers free shuttle every 30 mins to and from, 4 am until 12 midnight. The staff are helpful and courteous. The room is clean and the bed is SUPER COMFORTABLE. It’s not a Ritz Carlton or anything like that, but for the price that you are paying, it is excellent bang for the buck! Also, you get free breakfast! :)

Terrible Hotel, No respect for people who are using online apps. I used Hotel tonight app and went there, at first they told me there is no reservation and when I gave them a conf. # they gave me a one bed queen room for two adults while I stated when I made a reservation that one room for two people.
I was greeted by a square receptionist who do not know how to give eye contact, treating people like they are homeless seeking shelter in her lobby for the next day. I do not know if they do not respect the apps users or they are just naturally rude. Do not go there and do not use Hotel tonight app
my advice to you if you read this one use Hotwire and go to another hotel. she windup giving me one king bed for two people imagine if they were not the same sex and they basically cannot lay together that will be so embarrassing. LOL

I had a really cool stay here.
My schedule was full, so it was meant to be just a quick, basic night’s rest. As long as the room was clean and safe, I didn’t care too much about the neighborhood, ambience or amenities. I was just happy I could fit in eight full hours of sleep.
To my surprise, everything in my room was new and in terrific condition. The carpet, towels and sheets were brand new and the décor exactly matched the photo on their website. For the price, this room seemed more than adequate. I stayed for two nights and slept soundly.
The lobby definitely has an old-​fashioned vibe, but this is one of those places you can go for just a basic night’s sleep. And you can’t beat the price. I saved a lot of money and didn’t feel like I sacrificed comfort at all.

This hotel has the absolute WORST customer service. I stayed here during a snow storm in January, it was close to my job.
Please don’t dare ask the staff a question… You will be answered with disgust and sarcasm and a very snappy attitude. They will never keep guests returning to their establishment this way. They give you the run around and never a straight answer for anything when asked.
The shuttle service is unreliable.
Once again … Don’t dare ask the staff about the shuttle departure schedule, their unprofessionalism is really unfortunate.
I called down before using the microwave which is located in their «gift shop» &&& felt so uncomfortable when they placed someone at the door to «watch» me heat my food!
When I called the front desk inquiring about wake up calls/​late check out I was shouted and before the phone was slammed down.
Seriously get your staff’s act together !!

Wow. And not in a good way. I have stayed at hostels with better facilities and service than this place. We were put here against our will for two nights when JetBlue cancelled our flight to PHX. I saw on the paper they had at the front desk that JetBlue was paying $ 199 a night for us to stay there. I have paid 20 Euros for hostels better than this place in Europe, so it is laughable that people actually pay that amount to stay here.
The lobby and public areas of the hotel are straight up art deco gaudy ugliness. The rooms are very minimal and seemed clean, but I think they need to just bull-​doze the entire hotel because the plumbing system is hit or miss. I got in the shower and it worked for about 2 minutes until the flow from the showerhead reduced itself to a trickle of a few drops. That happened multiple times in one shower.
The bed felt as though a 500 pound man had last slept in the middle of the mattress and had smashed all the springs. My hubby and I kept rolling into each other in the middle of the bed.
The only good thing about this hotel is the van driver we had two nights in a row coming from the airport. He’s a friendly Russian guy who gave us Russian candy. Very nice guy.

Stay away from this hellhole, unless you are stranded here by Delta as I was. The lobby is deceivingly clean and well maintained. I will also concede that the staff while overworked by a cartload of poor travelers stranded there by the snow was relatively nice. But when I got in the room I wanted to shoot myself.
First, the carpets were dirty, the bathroom was barely acceptable, and the bed linen were torn and worn. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone found bedbugs here.
To make things worse my room was at ground floor, facing the «garden» (seriously, some of the reviewers must be out of their minds to consider this space directly facing the highway as a garden!). There was no way to lock the windows, so I slept uneasily thinking how accessible was my room from the outside.
I was unable to shower due to the water being scolding hot with no control.
The «complimentary breakfast» was provided in a dirty room, with a careless attendant, on dirty tables, with plastic plates and silverware. It consisted of chemical juices, awful yoghurt, stale bagels, small industrial muffins, and undrinkable coffee.
I am amazed that someone would even consider staying in such a shitty place in Jamaica for tourism. Downtown must be 1 hour of public transport away. Don’t do this to yourself, really.

I was greeted warmly on the phone when I booked a same day reservation due to a change of flight plans. Free airport shuttle, prompt and friendly. Very reasonable price and includes, free breakfast and wifi. There is also a fitness center but looks poorly maintained so I skipped it. (Any excuse to skip the gym. Lol)
This hotel is a great choice for a short NYC stay. Very close to JFK and the city. If I were to plan a vacation or a longer stay I might choose another hotel because I noticed the vents in my room were pretty grungy. And I can’t seem to get the thermostat to work. It’s set to 48 in hopes to get it down to something besides 80 degrees F. It seems to be stuck. The windows open though!
One more thing, this hotel is not full service but they do give you many menus for nearby restaurants that deliver for free and in a timely manner. Not bad!

Delta gave it to me good by cancelling not only the first flight I was scheduled to take, but also the one they re-​booked me on! Thanks Delta, jeez at least buy a guy dinner if you’re going to screw him like that!
Anyway, since they didn’t bother cancelling the last flight until after midnight and then re-​booked me on a 6:30 flight the next morning, I wasn’t about to go back home to Brooklyn just to turn around and come back so they put me up in the Garden Inn & Suites. This is one of the usual places they use for stranded travelers and I have to say, I was a little apprehensive, but it’s not that bad.
I guess I was expecting some type of sleazy, flea bag hotel, with pimps sitting the lobby or something, but this wasn’t like that at all. About a dozen of us arrived around 1:00 am and the staff hustled to get us into our rooms very quickly. The lobby was a little dated, but it appeared clean and not too worn, like Madonna circa 1994. My room was spacious and clean, but I was in a basement room so there were bars over my window which made me feel a bit like I was in a prison.
The sheets were a little worn and towels were thin, but it was quiet and comfortable so I’m not going to complain at all.
Thanks to Delta for the free room (although *bleep* you to Delta for keeping me at JFK for 10 hours!) and thanks to Garden Inn & Suites for a decent, non-​skeevy stay.
