Carl’s Butterflies is a 501©3 charitable nonprofit organization that serve as a break from the grief of being emotionally isolated. We work helping the children of our community, who may be experiencing the trauma of having a family member with a critical medical condition, hospice care or death. The organization have formed partnerships with schools counselors, hospitals social workers and doctors, funeral homes churches and, libraries. It is offered to children between the ages of seven and twenty one. Carl’s Butterflies goal is to foster a commitment to young people that will promote a pro-​social friendship, strong interpersonal skills, and proclaim a sense of hope for the future. There are three programs under this organization: Jasmine’s Place, Rufus Cares and Imani’s Love. Jasmine’s Place; meet every Friday from 3pm to 6pm

History

Established in 2012.

Carl’s Butterflies is in direct response to my children seeing their father go through, two biopsies, chemo, hospice home care, and passing away eleven months later from Non-​Hodgkin.
