Best Kept Secret Airport Parking & Carwash

My boyfriend and I had a different experience. The staff and drivers were pleasant and on time. We arrived on short notice, they were accommodating and got us to the airport immediately. They do park your car in a lot similar to an open lot in NYC, no difference. They do operate out of a restaurant, no biggie and if you ask me… smart move for additional income. You cant beat the price and our flight arrived at 5:15am…the driver True was there and very helpful. Our truck was also ready upon arrival — no issues. We will use again.

I don’t often write reviews, but his place warrants a comment.
Called two days before my reservation because of all the bad reviews. A live person answered the third time (that should have given me a hint) and sounded half way decent. I was somewhat reassured. It costs a third of the price of
. Sometimes you get what you pay for.
We arrived at 6:40 am for our 9:45 flight. No one was at the restaurant that is used as the office. I called the number and after four attempts a guy answers in a frazzled voice.
I ask why is there no one here. He replies that his other driver has not arrived yet. He will be back in 25 minutes, maybe 35 minutes at the most. He is in traffic at the airport. I say that is unacceptable and we need to get to the airport now since we have an international flight and the lines for security are very long. He states that he will rush back. We wait for 20 minutes. I called the number five more times with no answer. We made a choice to leave. He calls me back in one hour asking where I went. I told him to
. Called my credit card company and got the prepaid charge credited. You should NOT be pre paying for this service.
DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. Pay more for a hassle free experience.

I should have read the Unilocal reviews, but usually when businesses have a website that you can make a reservation through, it usually goes well, but this was not the case. I arrive and the guys that run the place were not there. There was a sign on the door that said if you are in a hurry then take an Über. Ok I have no problem with that, I had even planned for that if that were to happen, but there was no one there to take my car. The two ladies there that one was cooking and the other and I quote «I am on the phone with my pastor so (insert other ladies name), will have to help you. Had no idea were the owner was, how to just confirm and tell you were to park your car, basically check you in. They had no clue, who what when or where. and had no idea where he was and tried to call several times with no answer. If they knew how to check my car in, confirm my reservation and such I would have gladly left my car. Shoot, I really only saw one small parking lot which was super tiny and full. They kept asking did I call in, I was like no I made my reservations and paid through the website, they had blank faces and still had no clue. Dude hire someone to check in and out and give the customers the basic information so they feel secure enough to leave there car. The last question I left before I decided I would now have to park at JFK long term parking because I went from having plenty of time to now having to find a place to put my car, «is there anyone here that can check me in and take me to the airport?», response «I think (owner name) went took someone to the airport, I don’t know», yup and at that point I got in my car and went on my merry way I WILL NEVER USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN!!! Suck because I want to use the car wash service and would have established them as my airport parking, Great website with no service to back up the façade.

Go with one of the large professional Parking Sites. All of the complaints are exactly accurate. On some other sites it appears as if they got their friends to write reviews. This is a tiny parking lot that a few guys thought it would be great to make some extra money parking people. They are trying but it was a mess. Waited excessive amounts of time to get to and from the airport. Kept telling us 5 more minutes… There was a mixup… The driver is on his way… It got old.

Internally torn with my assessment of this business. The Good: These guys seem to be hustling and interested in establishing a ‘real’ business, to the best of their abilities. The rest is ‘The Bad’: ‘Lot’ (if you can call it that) is virtually impossible to find, especially in the dark… look for an incredibly small sign, not lit, scotch-​taped to a fence in between ‘The Restaurant’ and another store (i.e., their supposed ‘parking lot’ which, of course, is chain-​linked closed). ‘The Restaurant’ is World Headquarters for Best Kept Secret, by the way. Unfortunately, this 24-​hour restaurant was closed when we arrived to drop off our car at 5AM. (Apparently ‘Open 24 Hours!’…but not in a row, silly!) ‘Sketchy location’, while accurate, would be a compliment.
We just got lucky at 5AM as no one was around when we arrived so we called their number… and nobody answered, with a «mailbox is full» message. To their credit, we received a callback about a minute later with the deftly worded introduction of «who’s this?». Once I explained our need to find ‘Best Kept Secret’ and know what to do next, the gentleman on the other end basically instructed us to «just wait» as he was busy shuttling someone to the airport and would be returning in 10 – 15 minutes (which, to his credit, he did). His chariot to the airport was a bit frightening… a sort of green, beat-​up, high-​mileage SUV/​station wagon with transmission problems. Fun confidence-​builder when you’re beginning to panic about making your plane on time.
Upon return several days later, the wait was at least 45 minutes after calling. Of course, when the ‘new & improved’ SUV arrived and we gave the driver our info (basically our name), he said «we have no record of your car» and asked us for the ‘number’ which the first guy never gave us either verbally or via a ticket of some kind. («Just give us a call when you arrive» were the instructions.) After a few minutes arguing with the driver (helping him see that the reason he was there to pick us up is that I had called THEIR number… otherwise, he wouldn’t be standing there arguing with me), he finally agreed to take us back to the lot after I described our car and he finally relented because, «Yeah, I remember seeing that car!». You just can’t make this stuff up.
The final piece of greatness was when we arrived back at ‘The Restaurant’, walked inside the front door, and were met with an old, worn-​out, white plastic bucket with what seemed to be maybe 50−60+ sets of keys. Dumping them all out on a small table, with a few sets of keys bouncing off the floor, the $ 64,000 question was then asked: «Which one of these are YOUR keys???» While I clearly did not have the foresight to check this place out before I booked, at least I had the foresight to give them only one, spare key to my car… making it easy to find amongst the pile (and making me proud I had done so in the event I needed to use my REAL key I had with me in the event we’d never find the one I left with them).
So, in summary, I’m somewhat torn with this review. On the one hand, they seemed like genuinely nice people overall who were trying hard to do good for the world. And in the end, everything ‘worked’…we ‘parked’ our car (they did it for us… no telling where they really parked it as some reviews I’ve since read say many are parked on the street), the car was still there when we returned, and overall it was a good price. But the ride was extremely rough with all kinds of things to be worried about along the way, from finding the place, discovering how sketchy everything was, worrying about the ‘shuttle’ breaking down with pieces of the transmission bouncing down the highway behind us, worrying about whether or not our driver was ever going to bring us back from the airport, and wondering whether or not they had lost our car key. Not the kind of excitement we were aspiring to experience. If you like the thrill of taking risks with all kinds of danger surrounding the experience, then ‘Best Kept Secret’ is the place to leave your car at JFK. Otherwise, suffice it to say there’s reason this place is the ‘Best Kept Secret’.

I would give them no stars if I could. For starters, the place is sketchy as hell. The office is run out of a restaurant. Both the restaurant and the parking service boast 24-​hour service but that is a lie.
My reservation was for 5am but I arrived a little early around 4am. When I called to ask if I could be parked and taken to the airport a little early (because the «24 hour» restaurant was locked) the man rudely said «I’ll be there at 5.» So I had to find the nearest well-​lit parking lot to hang out in until 5. When I dropped off my car, one of the guys tried to get me to pay ahead of time, but I felt as though I’d never see my car again if I paid ahead.
The «shuttle service» to the airport is alone with them in their personal vehicles, which is also scary.
Upon my return, I called the place to be picked up and he said he’d be at my terminal within 15 minutes. An hour later, after several frustrating attempts to get in touch with my driver, and arguing with the rude receptionist, I finally got picked up.
I’d never use this service again. And I don’t recommend anyone else does either.

The person checking cars in was extremely rude. When I arrived and asked where to wait he snapped that I had to wait until he came back from dropping people off. All I needed to know was where. After 3 times asking he rudely told me to pull up. It has taken more than 40 minutes for him to go to the airport and back. I finally called him and he rudely replied that I’d have to wait 15 more minutes. Despite arriving at the parking place 45 minutes before I needed to be at the airport I am now late for my flight.
I would happily take an über from the parking area to the airport but there’s not even a person here who I can leave my car with.
A completely rude and unprofessional experience.
I would avoid this place if you’d like to be on time and without complete hassle.

Do not buy this Groupon. We arrived ready to depart to JFK and there was NO ONE there to meet us. Further, they said they would be there in 20 minutes and someone was already ahead of us. Very bogus since we had to park ourselves at JFK and pay full price. Further, with this delay we almost missed our flight!

DO NOT PARK HERE! There is NO parking lot, NO office. They collect cars at the restaurant and they do NOT have parking at the address. They said they have 5 differents parking lot but I don’t think so. There is no shuttle, they use their own SUV. So you have to wait forever when there are many people. It took an hour for pickup and they made me wait in their car. And they drove me to my car. What the… My car was parked on the street. They said that they parked it at one of thier parking lot amd brought it to the street yesterday but it was definitely lie. It started to snow a day after I left my car. And my car was totally covered by snow and there was no snow under my car. Which means they did streetparking before snowing and they left it during my trip. They totally ruined my wonderful trip at the end.

MY experience was very pleasant. The driver was very courteous and professional with me and my family, He also helped out a great deal with our luggage, not to mention my car was washed on my arrival to pick it up. Will definitely use their service again in the future.
