Went on a Wednesday and they had an awesome burger special. A burger, fries, and a choice of beer for $ 12. It was delicious.

Decent burger but nothing truly special nor is the ambiance anything to look forward to. Tasted like a burger I make at home and I can’t cook. Bun was cold(like just out of the fridge cold) which was a bummer. Will be back as it is open late. Good service.

I want to give it 2 stars but reading the definitions I don’t feel that«I’ve had better» really captures my experiences. Maybe luck is not on my side here though going to this restaurant should not be luck. September 25, 2015: we ordered a burger and truffle fries for lunch(take-out). Got home and the burger smelled rancid and tasted really bad, enough that I questioned if the meat was bad. I immediately wrote to Grass Fed and tossed the burger out. They were very responsive and I chalked it up to a one-off situation. I’ve eaten here a few dozen times so of course I wanted to go back. Tonight,(take-out order under Alex), 2 burgers and 1 truffle fry 1: they quoted 15 minutes for the order to be ready. It took 30 minutes. 2: after getting home the burger was easily rare. I love medium-rare so it doesn’t bother me when it’s very red but this was over the top. 3. they forgot the added bacon on the order(minor in comparison) Feels like the quality and attention has dropped and now time to turn elsewhere. Suggestion for those reading this review: it’s a bit more expensive but I would suggest Bella Luna take-out for the same quick burger and fry. And if you are really craving a burger go to The Haven.

This place is a 5 on quality of service and ambiance. Great vibe for beer /fewd. Burgers were nice but not amazing. On food, the fried pickles are amiazing. Their fries are nicely flavored and they have good variety in flavor, spices. My mild disappointment stemmed from their burger. I had the blue devil which was very okay. The ingredients had huge potential but it was probably cooked med-well to well done. Next time I’ll specify medium to med rare.:that may make the difference… they need to add a sauce of some kind to this as well…

Normally decent burgers. But my latest bacon cheeseburger lacked bacon! It’s the first word in the title«bacon cheeseburger.» Truly unacceptable. But I’ll probably still go back.

It was our first time in Boston and we were very pleased with this place! I ordered a chicken sandwich and a chocolate milkshake and I absolutely loved it! My boyfriend had one of their burgers and he said it was the best burger he’s ever had. The staff was very kind also. We cannot wait to return!

I really like their burgers and fries when I am permitted to place the order and when the order I pick up is the one I made, but satisfying those two conditions has been the exception rather than the rule lately. About 50% of the time when I try to call at 7:30 pm to place a pickup order there is an automated message on the phone telling me they are too busy to answer and to go online to place the order. Once I did go online and it was the clunkiest, most unfriendly system I’d ever seen and then they got the order wrong, But about 50% of the time when I do get through and place an order, what I pick up is wrong. Like they put my GF bun on my husband’s bacon cheeseburger with crispy onions. Duh. So, if you’re doing the math with me, only about 25% of the time that I want to order do I get the order I wanted. I think they are understaffed with a lot of turnover. If I were running this place I would hire a manager and pay them an appropriate salary. If that manager made sure the phones were answered, orders were taken, and food was accurately delivered they would more than justify their salary.

I LOVETHISPLACE! So when I first saw Grass Fed, I thought it would be a pretentious hipster joint based on the name, which I mean it still could be, but now I am a fan. First of all, they have amazing weekly specials for each day of the week! I have been there for their Wednesday beerger special(Burger+fries+beer for $ 12) and Tuesday Shakedown special(Burger+fries+adult shake for $ 16). Their burgers do not disappoint. They are perfectly cooked and although I’ve gotten the Cali burger both times I’ve been, it was very flavorful. I mean can you go wrong with avocados and pepper jack cheese on a burger though? Lastly, I love love love their adult shakes(alcoholic shakes). They are delicious and goes well with their burgers. With their Tuesday deal, I did struggle to finish everything, since a full burger, side of fries, and a full sized shake is probably too much food for someone my size, but I did give it my best. So if you can’t eat that much, maybe you should share the burger/fries with someone else and get your own shake, because… priorities. Edit: Just wanted to add that the art work on the wall is also awesome. If you have the time check it out. I love the titles of the art that were there last time I went(i.e. Darwinism approach to social anxiety).

It can be a bit of a wait — I don’t think there’s always the right amount of staff for their busy times(although it’s a small space, you might not be able to fit the right amount of people in there). I wouldn’t go here if you were starving or in a rush as a result. The burgers are fine. The fries are good. But oh my god their veggie burger. Their veggie burger is more than worth the wait and I’m not even remotely a vegetarian. So good.

Service is slow and disorganized. If you go when it’s busy expect to wait half an hour or longer for a burger. The burgers are okay, but nothing special. They give you a lot of beef but it’s not especially juicy or flavorful. Buns are pretty good, but the toppings haven’t blown me away. Overall a perfectly fine burger, but not worth the wait or the price.

This place is awesome!!! It’s burgers and hot dogs area crisply insane and some of the best I have ever had. I am giving this place 3 stars only for the sheer fact that they have the worst service ever and screw up our carry out order consistently forgetting to complete our order.

They first got my burger order wrong. Now, I’m still waiting for my burger and I thought I’d rate them while I still wait for my burger. Also, apparently, They seemed to have«Forgotten» my order of fries and I’ve been waiting for at least 30 minutes! Who cares about the taste if you can’t be fast at what’s supposed to be a gourmet fast food joint? Just pathetic.

Surprised to see such low reviews — we live down the street and stopped in last week. Had great food. Not the biggest burger I’ve ever had, and they don’t toast the burger buns(weird?) but the Parmesan truffle fries were amazing and my burger was great. The music was super loud and kind of bugging us, but I left thinking I would get the burgers to go in the future because it was good food!

Let me be clear — I love hamburgers and eat them at every chance I get. Everyone had high hopes for Grass Fed, and you’d think a place owned by the same person as Ten Tables would really bring their A-game to a casual, locally-sourced neighborhood burger joint. But you’d be wrong. Krista Kranyak — what happened?! I went to Grass Fed last night(for the 5th and final time). I even called ahead because there’s always been a line and then a wait for food. But alas, it did me no good. I still had to wait 15 minutes for my to-go order. The Pros: — the counter-person was very apologetic about the wait and gave me free beet fries and a seltzer The Cons: — the burger patty — what has happened to them? It was smaller, dryer and more flavorless than any previous encounter. — i specifically stated no cheese and yet there was cheese on the burger — i ordered it «in the grass» thinking it came on top of a salad. apparently«in the grass» means it will be sitting on a few wilted mesclun greens. — it didn’t seem like anyone working there knew what was going on; a clear lack of management. Considering that Grass Fed is literally RIGHT next door to Ten Tables, you’d think there would be some quality control and oversight. But again, you’d be wrong. I so badly wish Grass Fed was good, but I’m officially done going there. If you want a great burger in JP I still recommend the Haven, followed by Canary Square.

Burgers are solid. I love the Texas Joe Down. My mom said the veggie burger was the best she has ever had. So she went back again the next day for another(also a hit). The spicy fries are delicious as are the truffle fries(I am drooling while I write this!). I like the seat-yourself arrangement, and appreciate the high chairs for kids. My only complaint is that food can come out very slow even when the place is not crowded, even though it is set up for quick service and exit. Definitely worthwhile if you have time to sit, drink a beer, and enjoy some company.

For the variety, the taste and the price this place is a winner. The staff attitude earns the 5th star in my book. Kathleen was a delight. The adult shakes look great, but alas It was too early in the day to imbibe. I will have to come back.

I simply don’t understand why this place isn’t 5 stars. The burgers were mouth watering and delicious! We came on Wednesday for the beergur special. You get a burger, fries, and beer for a great price. You don’t get to pick the beer, but they have a great selection and usually ends up being a good one. My favorite burger is the Blue Devil. The portion was perfect for dinner. I also would highly recommend the truffle fries, even more than the spicy fries. The truffle fries were killer and you can easily devour them all. We sat at the bar and had a great time. The waitress was so nice, and took time to chat with us when she wasn’t busy. I’m so glad I’m moving to JP so I can go here more often!

Grass Fed is this cute little burger joint in Jamaica Plain. I had a gift card and decided might as well make a trip out for dinner. It’s a fine place with a decent burger but I didn’t feel like it was anything special. I got the blue devil which was recommended as their most popular burger. The bacon tasted decent, but was a little bit too thick and didn’t have the crisp texture I was really expecting. The buns were ungrilled which perhaps is asking a bit much, but for a ~$ 8 burger, I’m expecting a pretty high quality level. The patty was good(all of their beef patties are grass fed hence the name), but otherwise, the burger tasted a little bit too one-dimensional. The crispy onions that were inside the burger didn’t really show up in flavor when I did eat the burger. My girlfriend ordered the portobello mushroom burger which she said was decent as well. She did compare it to the mushroom burger they have at Shake Shack though and I think in terms of the quality it was at that level. I do think it’s a unique experience given their more boutique feel, and focus on sourced ingredients, but if I’m going to buy a burger, I could get something at the lower price and same quality from a nice shakeshack. They did have interesting fries choices and side dish options(fried pickles!) which is definitely an appeal to the restaurant. Good concept, but I feel like the execution is stuck at this area in between really good locally sourced burgers and typical burger chain in terms of quality.

I got a grilled cheese with egg which was good, not amazing. The bread was good except for the crust which was too thick, the cheese was great(american) and the fried egg on top was interesting and good. I had to cover it with bbq sauce though because it was a bit try. More butterrrrrr My friends both got the veggie burger and felt a bit ill later. The fries had great flavor but needed to be a bit crisper for my friends and I.
