Forest Hill Auto Service and Sales

Over the past 2 years Forest Hills Auto Service has performed several repairs on my Subaru. Their prices are very fair and the professionalism is beyond anything I would expect from a car repair shop. They truly care about their customers and the cars they service. They were also extremely nice and provided me with a rental car when a repair couldn’t be made in time over the holidays as one their vendors was closed. Overall my experiences with the team have been excellent and I would highly recommend them. They are also in walking distance to Forest Hills T stop which is extremely practical. Try them out you won’t be disappointed!

Went here a few times for oil change and basic service. They claim to inspect your brakes, fluids etc. when performing the oil change. About a month after one of these my bake pads were bare and I had to replace the rotors also. Guess they didn’t check…
Also had my tires replaced here, cost about 350 bucks for new tires. Well the sold me some cheap brand and about 1.5 years later, and 15,000 miles later, I am down to 4/​32″ of tread and need new tires.
The owner of the place is nice and seems to care about you and your car. But the employees and «quality checks» they perform are not up to standard. Parts are inferior to what you would find at a real shop.

Very courteous and helpful staff. I had several repairs on my car, including AC fix and break pads replacement. They quoted me a price and were willing to negotiate. They also seemed honest and took the time to explain what was wrong with my car. When i asked to see the old and new car part, they gladly obliged.
Would recommend them and would go there again in the future if I need further maintenance.
Only negative was that they don’t always call you back promptly when the car is fixed, so you should take the initiative and check in with them periodically during the day.

Was 800 miles from home moving my daughter to Jamaica Plains when I had some noise start up on my ’97 4Runner. Forest Hills Auto was just down the street so took my vehicle there to have it checked. Al took it for test drive & then put it on lift. Found U-​joint making noise but because of the thorough way they checked my car, also saw the inner tie rod was shaking. Al noticed some movement in steering when he test drove it. He took the time to show me difference in replacement parts quality & prices as well as labor costs. I never once felt taken advantage of even though i was from out of town. They ordered parts & fit me in for the next day repairs. I grew up in the car business & can tell you these guys know what they are doing, charge very resonable prices & do quality work. Their customer serve is excellent as well! I give Forest Hills Auto Service & all of their employees a 5 star rating & a big THANK YOU or helping me out, especially at a time when feeling most vulnerable!

Forest Hills is the best! They are so friendly and fast. I got my oil changed without an appointment on a Friday afternoon and they fit me right in. Their price was totally reasonable.
Today my 10 year old battery died and needed replaced. They drove down to where I was, jumped my car, and replaced the battery quickly. I don’t even think they charged me for the jump and travel time.
They are so friendly and seem very honest. I actually feel really good taking my car there.

If you’re looking for a mechanic who’ll be willing to help meet your budget but also honest Forest Hills Auto is fantastic. I’ve had lots of work done here from mechanical to body – all well done and quite fast as well.
