Went here to just eat and hang with a friend. We came at a good time. It wasn’t busy. It wasn’t too cold in there. The atmosphere was very laid-back and chilled. I had the 35 Shrimp Alfredo Pasta. It was okay. The noodles were a bit greasy and that turned me off from eating it but the shrimps were well seasoned and good. Overall a pretty good experience.

Cheap late night happy hour. You can’t beat $ 2.50 shots of tequila anytime of the day. Come after 10pm Sunday thru Thursday and you’ll be there at least 3 nights a week.

This particular location just doesn’t have the pop of the other Ale Houses around Duval. The Zingers were a bit soggy and bland. The chicken wings didn’t have much sauce on them I ordered Mild Medium and hot wings. The energy of the staff is what gets this place up to the 3 star level. Other than that I would drive to another ale House.

Horrible service and food. Not at all like the other Ale Houses I have been to. Drinks poured with a half shot or pay double for a 1oz shot. Bartenders rude and very slow.

Came to this location on a Sunday afternoon with my boyfriend. When we walk in, there was no hostess at the front door but an employee was sitting at a booth no more than 5 feet away and didn’t bother to seat us. After about 2 – 3 minutes one of the servers comes up and seats us, it took 10 minutes after being seated for anyone to even take our drink order. Ashley took our drink order, By this time we already knew what to order since we had more than enough time to look at the menu. We ordered our usual favorite, the Philly cheesesteak with fries. Our food came out pretty quick but our side of fries was barely even a handful. Seems like the amount of fries given decreases every time we eat here. Once we were cashed out, Ashley asked if she can get anything else, my boyfriend asked for a to-go drink, which he never got. We waited for about 10 minutes, Ashley was even serving the table next to us and didn’t even mention anything about grabbing the to-go drink he requested. We ended up just leaving right after that. Definitely the worst experience I’ve had at any ale house location.

Stopped by here the after the movies on a Wednesday and its was medium packed. We got seats pretty fast and the waitress was really fast and friendly and even put us on to the specials they had going on. Food service was super fast and everything tasted great. I recommend trying the captain jacks ice cream cake it’s sooo good. Overall the service and vibes were very great and the food was all pretty reasonably priced and a lot for the price.

Our family regularly enjoys Zinger melts. We really miss the fact they used to come on skillets and had a lot more cheese. Thus the melt moniker they carry. The manager told us to just ask and they would make them the old way for us. Kids usually satisfy our kids who are healthy eaters. More tv’s than you can count and usually have every game or event on. It would be nice to sit outside without the kids having to be around all the people smoking.

I really like the variety of foods at the Ale House that are available for a gluten-free diner. To be honest, the blackened zinger melt is one of my favorite meals on earth. However, the consistency of the food is so up and down that it’s disappointing to eat there at times. The majority of the time, the service is pretty good. We have had some issues when sitting at the bar, so make sure you watch your bill there with certain bartenders. At the tables, the service is good most of the time. The food for the kids is usually pretty good. The kids meals are reasonably priced, and include a drink and ice cream, so we’re pretty happy with those. We are gluten-free, and order the normal items grilled, which is no problem, another great benefit. For some reason, they choose not to make baked potatoes available until the evening at this location. We’ve been at others where they have been available during the day. I’m not sure why that would have to wait since they don’t take all day to cook. I do not recommend getting the broccoli ever. For some reason, they hack it into a few stalks, which you then have to cut to eat. It makes no sense to me that they serve a side item that I have to prep. They also get pretty lazy with the salads, where the chunks of lettuce are so large that none of them can be eaten and they all have to be cut again. That’s just sloppy, and I hope that they work on correcting that. The broccoli had been this way for years, it is not an occasional mistake. My favorite item, the zinger melt, is really good when they make it right. However, most cooks must not realize that it’s called a melt, which means a lot of melted cheese. At least half the time, the chicken is barely sprinkled with cheese. I uploaded a photo of the example today, which barely had cheese. I’ve ordered it with extra cheese, but even then, it really is never more cheesy than the typical way that it is supposed to be made, so I feel like I’m paying for something I shouldn’t have to. Hopefully they work on their consistency and the few issues, like the broccoli and baked potato, that I’m sure annoy others as well.

I saw this restaurant while browsing on Google maps and checked out their menu online and thought it looked interesting… so off the hubby and I went for lunch. I had the lunch portion of fish and chips and hubby had philly cheese steak. The fish was okay, hot and crispy but kind of bland tasting. Hubby said the same about the cheese steak and we both agree the fries were just kind of bland and soggy. The food was okay — but just looked unappealing and more like you expect at fast food place — not a restaurant. I think their cooks need to remember that we eat with our eyes way before we ever taste something and it doesn’t take much to make a meal look appetizing — a little lettuce, a slice of tomato a sprinkle of parsley. Hubby did say they had a good selection of beers and enjoyed the one he tried.

Looking for a restaurant in the Regency are that’s open after 10p can be a challenge but Ale House meets that challenge with full menu available after 10p and decent prices. The 32oz blue Long Island tea is refreshing. Our service was on point and food was great.

Wow I don’t really know what to say… worst experience here ever. I have been coming for a long time. I sat at the bar and had to wave down bartenders for a drink refill and then had to wave down for a menu I wasn’t offered. I waited for 40 mins… taking my time wondering how bad this was going to be. Finally got ones attention to order and get a new beer and was asked why the server whome I’ve known for a while didn’t take my order.(I wasn’t in her section, I was at bar) and I also could overhear the new female manager argue with a member of boh through expo. What’s happening to this place?!?

My husband and I went for a late dinner after 10:30. We got our food after 11. I had a small salad and baked potato. My husband had a chicken sandwich and fries. It took a little bit to get it considering it wasn’t busy at all and we were one of about 7 tables. At about 5 minutes til 12 midnight the televisions turn off and the lights come on. My husband and I looked confused. I even checked Unilocal for the business times. They now close at 12 midnight Sundays through Tuesdays.

I would have rather gone to the Miller’s Ale House off Southside, but it was so busy last night that I had my group head over to this location instead. It’s a little more tucked away and not as busy and surrounded by craziness, so parking was easy and so was seating. My husband and I were the first to arrive and we only waited about 10minutes for a booth(we really wanted to sit by the bar, but there was never any room and I think the server girl forgot our request and stopped checking for us after one of our group members told her we wanted to move). Anyways, we came to drink and have some food, but we started the night off with drinks. I asked the server if the shots were $ 2.50 and he said they’re actually $ 2.95 — when we got the bill they were actually $ 3.95, but by that time we were so over it that we didn’t care. Our drinks we got were all really good(especially my Midori Sour!!!) BUT the food was just a whole different story. One of our friends got a steak dinner and when the server asked how he wanted it cooked, he said BURNT. Literally cooked all the way through and even burnt. I’m not sure how hard of a request that was, but the first time we got the steak back, it was super pink in the middle, like he ordered medium rare. So, he sent it back after he had shown the server the pinkness of the meat after he cut it in half. When he got it back, he cut into his steak again and it STILLHADREDINIT!!! All the cook did was take those cut sides and flipped them so that part would cook. This time he just sent it back and didn’t want it anymore. And I don’t blame him. The owner was really nice to come out and talk to my friend about his food and ask him what happened and took the meal off the bill. Thanks! My other friend ordered the loaded fries and it was just horrible. Most of the toppings were burnt ONTO the pan and NOT on the fries. It was just cooked waaaaayyyy too long in the oven and it wasn’t even good. The cheese was burnt into the fries and we couldn’t even really taste it. Completely not happy and not how we remembered our loaded fries being in comparison to the other location. Customer service wasn’t even good either. Only the guy who welcomed us in was peppy and friendly. The other server, who was really nice every time he came by, just didn’t come by our table enough. And we were all ready to spend some money on some serious drinks, but we were over it after almost 2 hours and tapped out of there by 1130pm. Overall, probably won’t be coming back to this particular location. I still love Miller’s Ale House, just NOT this one.

Gave this one a second chance for lunch, as promised. Definitely better than my dinner experience. So if you come here, make it during lunch time.

One word. Bland. And that is coming from a person who does not like lots of seasoning. And I been there four different times and tried a different entrée each time. But it’s a good spot to drink and hang out.

Lunch menu changes daily for a nice rotation. Great kids menu and all of the wait staff is courteous and friendly especially to kids. I have come in several times with large groups and have never had an issue at this location.

We went to Miller’s last night with a large group from the wife’s work. There was maybe 20 of us. While the server told us that the normal girl who’s station we were in didn’t show. That’s is how the night went. The first round of drinks came out in a timely manner. The night went down hill from there. One girl ordered a sweet tea and it took almost an hour for her to receive it. The apps that we ordered took about 25 minutes. The majority came out cool in temp at best. Our food was very under cooked and no where near warm. The whole night was like that. Super slow service and pretty lousy food. I would avoid this place and they really didn’t ask to one person they all know really knows restaurant. Me

This is the closest Ale House to my house, but after eating here I will bypass it in the futures and go to the one at Beach & Hodges. The service here is kinda iffy. The food is also kinda iffy, sometimes it’s good and sometimes not so much. If I wanted to gamble I would go to the poker room that’s just down the street.
