History

Established in 2015.

We began offering weekly vegetarian dinners at the UNF campus in 2012. When the demand for cooking classes and more access to Krishna food began to grow, we took inspiration from our friends at the famous Krishna Lunch in Gainesville, FL.

Piloting a different approach catered to hungry audiences here in Jax, we opened Krishna Lunch To Go in September of 2015. Our mission is to simplify and uplift your work week by delivering healthy, delicious and inexpensive vegan meals to downtown offices and the UNF community.

Amrita Kelly S.

Business Owner

Amrita has always loved cooking, but her education in vegetarian, Indian & international cooking began after graduating from the University of Florida in 2009. She volunteered and later worked for the famous Krishna Lunch in Gainesville, FL for 3 years. There, she learned the art of making sacred vegetarian food, called prasadam, with international flare. In 2010, she lived in Vrindavana, Uttar Pradesh, India for 6 months, surrounded by and absorbed in the vast culinary traditions of North India. Now, she takes inspiration from her Punjabi husband and extended family, as cooking and sharing food in their community is a rich, delicious and meaningful tradition.

For Amrita, Krishna Lunch To Go is an incredible opportunity to share sacred vegetarian food with Jacksonville, catered to a wide international audience. Her goal is to make sure everyone can find something they love and crave from Krishna Lunch To Go.
