Elite Event: 2nd Annual Pop-Up Potluck at Veterans United

This was for sure my favorite event this year! As soon as we laid eyes on the invite, we knew we must get in. Who knew how much fun a potluck dinner with amazing fellow Unilocalers would be!?! This location was extremely cool! I loved that it is very secluded. Thank goodness Allie warned us about the location because I am sure we would have thought we made a wrong turn!
The best part of this event, to me, was the new friends that we made. Pedro and Martha, is was a pleasure to meet you guys! The conversation was easy and fun! Of course, we always love visiting and hanging out with our ‘old’ friends as well. It feels like a big family!
We have some pretty good cooks in our Unilocal community! Everything that we tasted was delicious. and the complimentary drinks were appreciated! We purchased a growler to go!
Thank you, Allie for another great event. But mostly thank you for being such an awesome host and friend!

I love this event because i got to know new people And la ts of more thst i did not get the chance to meet. Thefiod was good. The brisket was pit of this world. Whoever made it should have a bbq restaurant i would go at least twice a week or more. We brought real mexican chili hope everybody like it. The banana pudding was excellent. That is a great great recipe love to have it. I had a good time. Everybody was great. The beers were very nice flavor. I will go back for a drink or two. Nice cozy place and nice environment. Not your classic bar a little higher class i feel safe taking my wife and adul kids for a beer

This as my second year attending the Pot luck Event. I love this Veteran’s United place! I wrote a review right after the event, I don’t know where it went. But, as always, Allie you did a great job planning this event. All of the food was good. Mark’s brisket was my favorite. I enjoyed seeing the dogs who joined us. I don’t drink beer, so I had Merlot wine. My friend, Dee enjoyed her first «flight of Beer»! It was very good. I brought my friend, Dee Bunch Moon. She was shy at first, but everyone made her feel comfortable. It was her first time joining us. Allie, your gauc. was great! It really does not get any better than this. Thanks goes out to everyone this time!

This was my first Elite Pot Luck. The location of this years potluck was held at Veterans
United Brewery which is tucked away in an industrial park. This was a cool location to have the pot luck being that it was at a brewery and we had our own private space to do our thing in. We were given two free drink tickets for the brewery. There was also plenty of Unilocal Swag there! The food table was loaded with grub! I personally enjoyed Mark B.‘s brisket, sliders and The Atomic Buffalo Turds was the bomb! That brisket was the tenderest meat ever and the smoke flavor seasoned the meat perfectly! The banana pudding and Nutella pie was yummy. The BBQ meatballs were tasty, wish I would have ate more. Lol! I didn’t get to try the Peach Cider that the brewery had to offer because they ran out but I heard it was good. I did get the Buzzing Bee Beer which has honey and orange flavor tones in it. We also had wine and lemonade in the table. I tried Zen and Zin wine which I enjoyed will be purchasing some in the future. Allie placed conversation starter cards at the table, which got the table buzzing. This was a good event to just relax, enjoy each other, eat and drink!

As always, Allie did a great job of setting up a great event in an amazing location. i have been doing the Jax Ale Trail and needed to come by here sooner but this was the perfect time to finish up that little passport, and a pot luck? heck yes! i live super close by and as soon as i saw this event i knew i would love it. all the food was really good. the brisket was
.i also really loved the guacamole. and the ravioli. and the nutella pie. and the stuffed jalepenos. ok so it was all good! what i love about a potluck is that you really get to connect with people by preparing food for them. we had a great time talking and laughing and even left with a cool Unilocal flask! i brought my best friend as my plus one and she now has a Unilocal account! i tried a beer flight, and actually liked all of the choices and went back for another Buzzing Bee! i loved that it was a dog friendly event also, even though i left my pup at home. overall it was a super fun time and i left so full!

What an awesome idea for an event. Allie, Daisy you girls really know how to do it up right. The venue was perfect. Props to Veterans United for allowing us to do this event here. I had to purchase a growler because the beer was that good. I highly recommend the Buzzing Bee.
All the dishes that are fellow Unilocalers prepared were amazing. Mark, as other people have said, the brisket was out of this world. Pedro, the real Mexican chili was equally as amazing. I really enjoyed catching up with a few old friends, and meeting some new ones. I even ran into a fellow coworker who is a secret Unilocaler. That was a surprise. Thanks again Allie and Daisy we had a great time and plan on returning to veterans to refill these growlers!

What a fun fun night I had! My sweet roommate and I were so excited about this event all week. I am so happy at how much fun and what a good time we had overall. When we arrived we were greeted by the sweet little pup and got two free drink tickets each for bringing a dish! What a treat. Not to mention the peach cider was amazing! Like usual everyone was so friendly and kind. Such a great energy and atmosphere in the room. The dishes that everyone brought were exquisite. Thank you Allie for putting on such an amazing event ! Can’t wait for the next one !

I’m pretty sure that I look forward to this event. Last year we had a fun time with some seriously good grub. This year was no different. A good crowd came out and there was some killer viddles that walked in also. Now there was plenty of beers hanging out with most of the Unilocalers. I do like this event cause we have all read a lot of the reviews that most of us write. Now it’s time to put it all out there and show what you have. I will say that there are a lot of good cooks and even a good mixer uper. Allie your Guac is amazing and it will be until the next one of these till I eat guac again. I really haven’t found one that I like yet except yours. The combo of flavors just work right to me. The chili of Pedro’s was also really good. I also like the salad and the I think dirt cake did a number on me. In all a great time was had by everyone that I talked too. Thanks Allie you for putting another one of these events again. I personally can’t wait for next year and some more guac.

Once again Allie hit it out of the park! This was my first potluck as an Elite and I loved it! Such a simple idea food, friends, beer, and great times! So glad I know where this is located so now I can bring a couple of beer lovers with me to enjoy the tour. Also, I got to meet a couple of awesome furry Unilocalers which was amazing. Now the grub… everyone thank you for doing such a wonderful job with your dishes they were all so amazing! Thank you Unilocal family big thank you to Allie of course! Mark your brisket redick sir and Daisy your Nutella pie was dangerous!

What a super pleasant surprise! This was my first Elite event, and it was so much fun. Everyone was so interesting, and we laughed so much! I love potlucks in general, and the location for this was perfect. I’ve heard lots of good things about this brewery but had not yet visited — what an awesome place! Good vibe, and their special events room was perfect. I had a beer flight so I could try everything, and much enjoyed the Hedgehog beer. The Unilocalers pulled out all the stops for this event (brisket? OH YEAH!), and I’m looking forward to next year! More potlucks please!

I love the whole idea of a Unilocal potluck and, for the second year in a row, the event (and all that food) did not disappoint! So much awesome food (my personal favorites were the potato salad and the brisket), great company, and great beer! I live super close to Veterans (as it turns out, closer than I even realized) and it’s such a great place for an event like this. I also very much enjoyed having some puppy time, so cute! Thanks to Ally, Daisy, and the team for another fun night!

Another awesome Elite event. I had no idea so many elite Unilocalers not only reviewed great eateries but were also marvelous cooks. We dined and wined (or beered on some of the best craft brews) while socializing with our fellow Unilocalers. The table topics was a great idea, we laughed so hard at the possible answers for some of our cards. The desserts were delectable. We had such a fun time and were sad it went so quickly but look forward to the next event. Thank you again

Well that was fun! What a lot of great food and awesome people. I had no idea this brewery was even back here and I’m never would’ve found it without this event. Or games and handcrafted beer what a great combination. Thank you for the invitation and Bo (the dog) had an excellent time also. I think I won’t need to eat for a week. Whoever made the guacamole, I need your recipe, and whoever made that brisket is a smoke master of the highest order!
