The Jackson Lodge

We made a reservation and when we arrived the manager was rude said we were to early and the room was being cleaned. We left and came back an hour later checked in and went to are room only to step back in time 20 years. If the room was being cleaned why was it so gross and dirty. When we pulled back the bed spread there was blood stains on the pillow and sheets. We went to the office but it was locked so we left and stayed at another hotel. Called and spoke to the manager two hours later and told him what we discovered and that we left and wanted a refund he said he would give us half back which was unsatisfactory. Please do not stay here it is just plane dirty and not updated.

Bottom line: this place is DISGUSTING.
The room we are in is on the bottom floor-​I hope, for the hotels sake that is an old un-​renovated room.
Carpets are blue berber straight out of the late 80s, worn, pilling and stained. Wooden furniture is literally falling apart, chunks missing, splintered pieces falling off, the metal knobs are rusty.
I would give zero stars if I could. I suppose the 1 is because as far as I have looked, the sheets I’m sleeping in aren’t stained and don’t smell like cigarettes.
I can’t believe i paid $ 97 for this dirty place. I’ve paid $ 49 for cleaner newer rooms with normal hotel amenities.
There’s an old coffee maker in here-​but no cups to put any coffee in.
No blow dryer in the bathroom… Ohh the bathroom, stand up shower, old stained peeling linoleum floors, dirt in the corners. Old oak bathroom vanity that looks like termites took to it.
No bag for laundry in the closet.
No visible outlets… Had to unplug coffee maker to find a spot for my phone.
I’m not picky. I’ve slept in dirt huts in third world countries… but if I’m gonna shell out a hundred bucks, I expect cleanliness, and rooms that have been updated since 1989.
If I had paid $ 39 to stay here… I would deserve lying here in bed, listening to everything my neighbors say and do (cringe) through the thin walls, Feeling like I need to shower from being in here, but I didn’t. So I don’t deserve this.
I am taking the time to write this because I can’t sleep and I want to go home, and that makes me angry because I can’t go home… so here I sit taking out on the Unilocal page. Pregnant, hormonal, hoping there aren’t bed bugs and disgusted with myself for not researching this place better.
Don’t make the same mistake.
Ps. The lampshades are still in their yellowing plastic covers, quite charming.

This hotel will not get one star from me. I have a couple of close friends that called and asked for a room. They needed one due to the Butte Fire in Amador County and they were turned away because they had two small dogs. I can’t believe that this hotel would turn anyone away during a crisis like this! Shame on you Jackson Lodge!

Bottom line, you get what you pay for! I saw that the rooms were only $ 69 a night and my husband and I just wanted to go to the casino for one night,
I went ahead and «splurged» and got their most expensive room «The Deluxe Cabin» for about $ 150 including tax.
I wish I had just got a $ 69 room because it couldn’t have been any worse than the deluxe cabin.
Upon arrival the Owner was not polite, inviting, or welcoming at all.
He acted almost as if I was a burden to him, just for trying to check in.
I am a firm believer in customer service, and this man possesses none.
The first thing I noticed upon entering the room was that it had a stale smell inside.
The floors were grungy, there were some sort of white stains on the sofa couch.
The kitchen sink did not drain.
The shower had no water pressure at all.
Everything seemed dingy and dirty and in need of updating.
I did not visit the pool.
If your going to stay here just get the $ 69 room, trust me!
And also, they are not private cabins, it is a duplex that shares a wall with another cabin.
The deluxe cabin does not have a nice view off the balcony.
The plastic white chairs were really dirty as well.

The place looks ok the pool is clean and sparkling but it stopped there the carpet in the room was old and dirty. The A\C noisy and inadaquate. When we pulled back for bed the sheets had not been changed. They were wrinkled and blond and black short hairs were present. When we informed the front desk the guy cane and acted like it was a burden. He apologized but we felt like he was put out. Auto club needs to go back and pull their 2 A rating

We did not have a pleasant stay there on Halloween
The walls are paper thin up above us there was a party very loud going on all night and morning. No sleep for us.
Had a non-​smoking room but the pillows the blankets and the bed wreaked from old smoke.
They did have a refrigerator and microwave in the room which was okay.
The owners were very hard to communicate with.
Had trouble with the old-​style TV.
On our next stay in Jackson California we will probably find a different place to stay overnight.

70 ’ s décor, wireless sucks, cigarette butt’s, pool is freezing, old tube tv… need I say more

This is a great place to stay. Very clean and the owners are kind and try to make your stay enjoyable. The pool is nice and the rooms are reasonable. This place also rents nice cabins. When in Jackson come visit this place.

I had a very good time. Everything was spick-​and-​span, the room was very comfortable and spacious, nice view towards trees — very quiet.
Will definitely return.

The rooms are large and clean, the beds a bit soft for me. The pool was clean and well maintained (one of my pet peeves at hotels) They have these cute little cottages but the main building is really a motel. Still, if you’re just passing through it’s a good value.

The place was semi clean and centered with all the sightseeing we had to do in the area. The premises had a pool and they serve breakfast, which was not very good. The cereal was stale. They also offered cabins, but the room rate was over priced in my opinion. Overall, the room was decent for the price.

Been coming to Jackson for over 20 years. This facility is a GREAT location & if you have kids they will adore the cabins, which are more like duplexes. Feels like a cabin to a little kid though. Sufficient continental breakfast & cute pool area. Again, great place if you have kids. Or no kids at all. Clean facility & for the price $ 135.00 for the cabin, which will sleep 4 is a good price these days.

DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR PICS! VERY INACCURATE! Old dirty furniture and rooms! Surprised the bathroom was clean. Free Wifi not available in rooms. Only near the pool area. Pool was Clean. Staff was very rude! They most definitely need to learn how to be more professional. Musty air and smell, they had to come spray the room with a can of air freshener. Windows did not lock. Felt very unsafe. WILL NOT STAY AGAIN! Strongly recommend that you look else where for a room.

I wouldn’t say it was the worst, but certainly not the best. The pictures on their website were very deceiving. The room was clean but dated. The mattresses were old but not hard. I think we paid too much for this room at $ 79. We normally stay at a best western, but my budget said differently this time. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

Decided to finally check out Daffodil Hill, and get out of Sacramento for the night. We weren’t feeling the BNB vibe, (kids in tote) so decided to explore Jackson.
Surely not the WORST place I have ever stayed in, however, I need to clear a few things up, things I have read in other shoddy reviews or hotel descriptions.
First, If you’re staying in a «cabin” — keep in mind, they are not really cabins, more like duplexes. I have a family of four, and the king worked out just fine– PLENTY of space. Enjoyed the little back porch overlooking trees and hills, and even used the reasonably sized kitchen. The sofabed sucks, you can feel every spring, but hey… its a sofabed.
Secondly, the Pool is beautiful, but certainly NOT heated.
As for the «cabin» the shower pressure is terrible, and made for short people. The WIFI (In the cabins) was non existent. The room was sparkling clean, with the exception of the floor that they probably really need to have shampooed. I slept alright, but my husband did not. I’ll blame our gel foam mattress we love at home.
Why would I stay here again? Because I hate chains, the owners were extremely helpful and polite, the lounge was charming, and breakfast was pretty okay– an assortment of bagels, fruit, juices coffee cereal. you know, the basics to get you going. Im not saying I would stay here all the time, but I’m not sorry I tried it.

New Years Eve 69 $ a night, a true STEAL
The casino was sold out so my second choice was this hotel.
It is old and needs updating, but it was clean, decent and a good location.
Bed was nice to sleep it, it was firm but not hard as a rock.

This place did the trick, but after I read the review that said there were bed bugs I was terrified and searched my mattress up and down for the bugs.
No bugs. The room was clean, but very out dated. I was happy to see they had cable tv and wifi which was nice, but a better tv would have been good too.
The mattress was obviously old, and I felt like I could feel each one of the springs each time I rolled over.
When I got checked in I took a dump — I had been driving all day — and the toilet clogged right away. I am very conscious about clogging toilets as I have a low flush toilet at home so I am convinced that I would have clogged it even if I had just peed.
Overall I would say that the nightly rate is a little expensive for what you get.
Oh, and don’t be fooled by the picture that has hardwood floors. Mine had blue carpeting.

Stayed at the Deluxe cabin for 2 nights. Comfortable bedding, fireplace was nice. No bed bugs, and clean surroundings. Pools was heated everything was nice. The people where helpful about where to go and things like that. We even needed a larger stock pot to cook and they found us one. which was nice. I would stay here again.

It was a clean, quiet hotel. That is ½ the battle right? Our room was large, how large was it? It was so large that the 20inch tv that was across the room was too small to really see and i have great vision.
It was not the nicest place but we used it for what we needed to (get your mind out of the gutter people!) changing, sleep, relaxing. It was functional.
Location was right as you enter town which was cool since the wedding was in Sutter Creek. Price was like 89 bucks including tax, king size bed.
If i come up here again, I would have no problem staying here again.

Apparently I did not have the same negative experience as the one other review of this place. I loved it. A rustic room with a kitchen and a fireplace and for under $ 100 bucks a nite… I think it was around $ 80 last time we stayed. It was quiet, restful and a great home base to work from and see the attractions in the Sutter Creek and Jackson area; then make our next «plan of attack» for places to go. Lots of nice restaurants and antique shops to check out-we’ve been here twice to celebrate anniversaries. If you’re looking for room service and a mint on your pillow with the bed turned down, pick a pricier place, otherwise I guarantee you will be happy!
