THEGOOD: decent salad bar, self refill fountain machine, fried shrimp, waffle fries, meatloaf, wide selection of desserts including apple pie, cheesecake, and bread pudding THEBAD: no cooked vegetables other than over-steamed broccoli, mac-n-cheese was pretty bad, lack of food options(I literally kept going back hoping to discover something new, but just kept wandering back and forth), meat carving station was unmanned for the majority of the night, no service at all(no one ever stopped by our table to pick up empty plates so they just kept stacking up) FINALVERDICT: While I was in the mood for American buffet, OCB fell short of my already low expectations. For $ 12/person I expected a little more variety and vegetables to go with my meal, but ended up eating fried shrimp and meatloaf all night. I hate to give restaurants low ratings, but I will not be back again.

I will never go to another Old Country buffet again. Gross! Meat was disgusting… Under cooked with tons of fat. Best thing was dessert and the ice’s to drink. Not worth $ 15. Rolls were stuck to the pan. Everything was bland and gross.

Not a good experience. Drove 30 miles to meet some friends for dinner on New Years Day. We had been here before and wasn’t too bad but how things have changed. Food was not good and they had no meat other than chicken. I would think for $ 12.00 maybe a little ham or roast beef maybe shrimp or fish. We will not return.

This place used to be really great. Now food quality has gone way down. Steak is so tough one can hardly chew. Yes, salad greens are wilted, their people don’t give the attention they used to. Don’t get me wrong, many of the people who work their work really hard. They have had a turn over in help though, makes me wonder? The restrooms are getting really bad. They smell and never seem to be clean like they used to be. I hope this place can be whipped back into shape sooner than later. I am one of their regulars and have been eating here since it opened. Once quality and attention to detail start to slip, it is hard to get the quality back.

I gave four stars to boost this place up a little. My family lives in Jackson and we have been having family get-togethers at this OCB for many years. It’s a perfectly fine place, and you get what you should here. Some of the food is really good, some is OK, and some is yucky. That’s OCB for you. The salad bar is fresh and well-stocked. The people are nice and — overall — it’s clean and well-run.

I hadn’t been to a buffet in YEARS when I came to this Old Country Buffet. It was a bit more expensive than expected($ 12 a person, if I’m remembering correctly), but it’s unlimited food, so I didn’t mind. The food choices were as expected. As a vegetarian, I found that there weren’t a TON of options for me. The vegetables were soft and flavorless for the most part, and the fruits weren’t very sweet. All of the food was very okay, and mostly over-cooked. On the up-side, the desserts were good! When I went, the ice cream machine wasn’t working, but I didn’t mind; there were other options.

Went here on Thursday and I found a piece of hard plastic in my pineapples. I told the very sweet waitress who told the manager and all the manager said was I will change the pineapple… Not a thank you… Not a let me buy your lunch… Not a go f**k yourself… LOL

My brother and I stopped here on our way back from a trip to Chicago. I paid $ 23.30 for the two of us to have dinner without any beverages. The taste of the food was OK; it’s buffet food as far as that goes, it wasn’t bad, what was BAD was that more than ¾ of the food wasn’t out! We stopped in at 6:40pm so it isn’t like we were eating really late. All the teen age workers were gathered together talking amongst themselves while all the food bins and trays went empty. My brother and I made tacos without beans because the bean bin was full of dried up beans, very few beans left clinging to the bin. The mashed potato bin was scraped dry. The roast beef bin had nothing but one long piece of fat and gristle with some beef on it. The hot fudge bin was empty. The rolls were gone. Awful, I will never return to this place, there are too many options right in that area.
